thanks you for your videos, it's helping me so much because I'm currently learning japanese. I support you to continue. Moreover I like your montages and reactions
Tumi-chan! Your style is awesome. In my opinion your way of teaching is very helpful and not like anything else I've seen out there. Keep it up and keep having fun. You learned English in the Philippines/from Filipino teachers? I feel like I'm in the Philippines when I listen to your English.
Thank you for this video, My family calls me Toumi (abbreviated from tout Mignon in french) and I just now realized I could go by Tumi as well even tho its just a nickname lol
I knew most of these, however it is still so fascinating to me how sensitive the Japanese language and people are to these details, I suppose it is a social cultural thing that is learned with time. To be called -kun by a female friend if I lived in Japan I would only assume that she sees me as a friend, the crush part would forever fly over my head xD But it is good to know that -chan and -kun can have this flirtatious undertone to it too, probably intonation and way to say it carry lot of the meaning too? I am seriously learning Japanese each day for a while now, and thank you Tumi for these explanations. Learning vocabulary, kanji and grammar often doesnt have this real life context and details. My fear is one day understanding the language but missing the nuances of polite and casual, which seem to be very important in Japan.... And a gaijin pass is something that feels sad long term. However again, keep up the nice efforts Tumi, it is much appreciated!
At first I saw the title of your video “Chan San Kun”, I thought it’s the Name of a Chinese person with surname CHAN 😂😂😂 Cuz Chinese names usually consists of 3 words as well!! 😆

Japanese have a lot of honorifics, in portuguese we just used two, senhor and senhora, and its for only very formal situations, its very different lol
