Some additional information. There are actually 4 dailies in WvW, 2 small that rewards 1 potion, like guard killer, land claimer, buyer, etc. and 2 big that rewards 2 potions, like camp, tower, keep. For the monument claimer, you can claim the middle part for that daily, advances the weekly at the same time. You can have some achievements for aurora as well as vision by completing some reward tracks
I started out not a fan of wvw but actually grew to love it over time. There are certainly the trolls you have to block from map chat from time to time. However, for me it is really fun working as a group to conquer or defend different objectives. It also provides a nice change to grinding out fractals or meta events.
I started out doing WvW getting my Gift of Battle for Pharus, but in the course of doing that reward track I found a guild. Now I'm level 2611. It's my favorite mode, but I needed people to play with to really enjoy it.

On the guild trader you can also sometimes buy Boxes of WvW Supplies for guild commendations. Here you can buy 3 of them, when he/she offers them. I always check the trader when i'm harvesting the guild hall.
Agree 100% with your tips here, I just also want to add one more tip I've found useful too. Running with any kind of group can be very beneficial, at the least it can help protect you from gankers/griefers, and at best means you can take Keeps and Towers. When you get on a map check and see if any is "tagged up" (running a Commander Tag). If so , there you go. Even if it ends up being painful, it'll probably be less painful than otherwise, lol. Unless you're in the mood to lead the Roamer Life, and that's cool too. Not bad at all during low population times where you'll hopefully only run into other roamers, at worst. ;-)
I feel motivated to play more WvW again since I wasn't sure what activities can I engage into when there's no commander or any big party on the map. Thanks for this amazing tutorial! Gaining Gifts of Battle doesn't sound so impossible anymore :D
I appreciate that this is time efficient. Sometimes when the map is queued and we can't rally enough people to fight the other zergs, it's really frustrating seeing people afk in spawn or otherwise not participating, but occupying a slot anyway doing the bare minimum to maintain participation. This method in your video is a much better way of doing it.
True! I've actually noticed that during bigger times sometimes zergs target me if I go flipping a few camps. Gives some reprieve for a pushback for the rest of the realm. And I'm all for everyone playing their own way, but being able to have a positive effect for your team is a huge win in my book.
for non WvW players that need something from WvW my best advice just follow the commander tag, guaranteed you will get a lot of things just doing it and also talk with the WvW guild and commander they will always helps you 😊
Just completed another World Map Completion to get a couple more Gifts of Exploration and now I have to play hours of WvW, which bores me to death. Thanks for these tips on how to make the pain last a shorter length of time, but I really wish that Anet would provide any alternative for obtaining the Gift of Battle required for crafting most Legendary weapons. I've already crafted over 20 1st Gen Legendary weapons, and I'm quite sick of this mindless WvW grind. I understand that some players think that WvW is the best game mode to play within GW2, but I assure you that there are just as many, if not more, players who find it so repetitive and boring, just like I do, and we resent being forced to play that game mode, in order to craft our Legendary gear. If it were such a great game mode, Anet wouldn't need to force PvE players into WvW just to get this required item for crafting Legendary gear. These might be the last two 1st Gen Legendary weapons that I ever craft, that's how much I dislike being forced to play WvW. I've only crafted one 2nd Gen Legendary weapon, and it was so long ago, I can't remember if the Gift of Battle was required to complete it. I think that perhaps the Gift of Battle might not be required for 2nd and 3rd Gen Legendary weapons, so I'm hoping I can switch to crafting them instead of the 1st Gen versions (though I won't be able to sell any of the 2nd Gen versions, and will only be able to make gold from crafting 3rd Gen versions in the future).
I made an updated guide after they nerfed the daily potions (th-cam.com/video/QlNP6X8694A/w-d-xo.html) But yeah, it really doesn't feel good being forced into WvW, having an alternative (which can be just as grindy, imo) would be a real boon. Sadly, every single Legendary needs a Gift of Battle, incl. Gen 2 and 3. Instead for the GoM, you'll need them for the Gift of the Mists instead.

It says a lot about how much confidence Anet has in their WvW game mode, that they have to force players into it against their will, to obtain an item needed for the best in slot weapons. I guess I should be thankful that they also don’t add another item to legendary crafting that can only be obtained from PvP.
In General Options, under Combat/Movement, make sure to check "Snap Ground Target to Current Target". That makes them auto snap to your target. I also have Ground Targetting: Fast with Range Indicator (drop down menu on top of that menu), as well as "Lock Ground Target at Maximum Skill Range". Those make combat more fluid with ground targeted skills as well.
I see you have the cursed shortbow. You, sir, are a man of class and taste. =P None of my main toons use the shortbow, but I too want to shoot unicorns farting out rainbows! XD I too do the easy wvw dalies and have saved up almost 1000 wvw potions. Thank you for the tip for the box of wvw supplies. i didn't know that you only needed 2 of them to gain levels in wvw! I shall hoard these too now. (My poor over-stuffed bank storage!)
In the General Options tab is an option called "Cursor Contrast". I changed it to the middle option, as I find the maximum option atrocious. Before I had the same issue, lost my cursor quite often :D.
Sure! In General Settings, scroll down to Combat/Movement. Ground Targeting: Fast with Range Indicator (it's the one in the drop down menu) > this makes it so you don't have to click the ground where your skill should land, but instead it casts the skill as soon as you release the button of said skill Lock Ground Target at Maximum Skill Range: make sure this is checked > No more red circles :) it sets max cast range for you if you try to go out Snap Ground Target to Current Target: make sure this is checked > This automatically snaps your ground target circle to the enemy you have targeted, making it more like other skills that don't require ground targets. Be aware though, players at a higher level will probably abuse you playing with this setting. But all of a sudden grenades/mortars become very chill to play :)
i hated WvW 10 years ago, black in the day you need to finish your WvW map completion 100% all borderlands to achieve map completion in order to be able to craft your legendaries from PvE that's how i was forced into WvW and since that experience never looked back to PvE in the same way, WvW is so much fun is AWESOME 😅 👍🏾

The way you get "fast/easy" rewards has been updated since this video, but I did make an updated video: th-cam.com/video/QlNP6X8694A/w-d-xo.html :) WvW is indeed a good way to get Tomes, otherwise, if you have a ton of XP boosters, you can also kill yellow enemies (ideally on LWS 4 maps for the extra EXP), do rifts in Janthir, or meta events that involve a lot of mobs (New Kaineng for example)

I _believe_ that's the only thing that exists for reward tracks. Aside from event bonuses like we had recently, that one gave fat bonuses to WvW EXP and rewards as well.
Man, watching you throwing granades like this is painful. Go to options, and pick instant target + snap ground (for WvW) and you will melt faces like this. Granades are very OP if used right. Can deal up to 6k PER granade, if you have some berserker, and you throw 3 of them. I've literally 1 shot ppl with one throw. And the good part is... you can kite them and hit like truck at the same time. Run and throw from your back is the most annoying kite for other players.

Snowflake gobbler is a nice boost to have in WvW. 5 Snowflakes for +25% wvw reward track during 15 minutes.

hey sorry unrelated question but at 5:02 it looked like your grenades were auto locking on to the enemy player? how did you do this?

Your skill targeting is unlike I've seen before. Could you go over your ingame settings for combat. I would like to get mine set like yours is please.
