You and others that think like you are the reason why Vic made the statement that he did. XXX did some fucked up shit, that was even placed in the public eye, and nothing really came of it. Part of the reason is because when you admire someone for whatever reason you tend to ignore or downplay their wrong doings. It also seems like people expect celebrities to do a certain amount of fucked up shit, and that within a certain threshhold its ok. This is not ok, whenever you see someone fucking up, or doing fucked up shit, you need to have the strength of character to call them on it and stand by your own priniples. Lets say your barber gave amazing haircuts, but you found out he abuses his spouse. Would you say "Well...he got my fade looking right though!"? Its the same concept, and this is the reason why he said something. Even more to his point is the knee jerk reaction, like fantano's in this video, to chalk it up to Vic trying to ride the wave of hype about XXX's death. There is literally no proof of that, and its a reaction born of the fondness or admiration felt for XXX, which is exactly Vic's point. To discern why anyone does anything short of their own honest admission, or something to read their mind, its impossible to know why anyone does anything. As far as anyone aside from Vic knows, he very well may have done it to bring more attention to the bias that we show celebrities. As far as anyone aside from Vic knows, he very well may have done it to gain more popularity for himself. Unless you are a mind ready, you have no idea. That being said, the conclusion that you reach is a very direct window into your bias about the subject. Do you immediately jump to his defence, saying that the real story is how Vic is using this to chase popularity, or do you admit that maybe you, and his other fans, took too much of his shit because you like his music? "Oh hey, did you guys know that XXX did this or that messed up thing to someone? Did you know he likes to punch his fans in the face at his own concerts? Did you know that his music, his actions, and the consequences of his actions are all reaching the impressionable audience that his music is aimed towards?" Fans: "Thats all oppurtunistic reporting, or ankle biters, trying to come after him because he made it big. That stuff doesn't matter, he makes great music that I like." What kind of fucked up logic is this? Its a problem that pervades the entire industry. The people that make the music are marketing to an audience that seems to expect certain behaviors and themes from the artist and their music. You have to be "hard," get bitches, do drugs, sell drugs, handle guns and use them to pop off on niggas that step out of line. And there are plenty of artists who are more than happy to fill that niche because their is money and fame if they can pull it off, even more so if they can make the right spectacle of themselves along the way. The idea that "thats just how rap and hip hop artists are" is so far removed from the reality, but its the type of entertainment that people expect from an industry thats dominated by black men. XXX and other rappers that happily dance along to this tune aren't doing themselves, the industry, or black men (or women, given the things they say in their lyrics a lot of the time) any favors. Instead of people constantly defending XXX just because they like his music they need to look at his actions and his music as the seperate issues that they are.
My issue is when people demonize abusers even though they are attempting to change their behaviour and do good in their own life and for society (ie. X, Ameer Vann). It’s one thing to be continuously abusive and not care about it but it’s another to recognize it and change for the better. Talents don’t forgive actions but I think they can help redeem a person who was abusive in the past and I think letting self aware abusers do that is a good step forward for society. Abuse isn’t controllable as much as it is isn’t forgivable. People don’t always WANT to do bad things but they do. I think the chance to own up for it in a positive way is better than death or a prison cell (depending on the person and severity of the crime).
It’s a hot take, but I truly believe it. It’s a “all life is precious” mindset. Butterfly effect sorta thing. Doing one really bad thing can lead to doing really good things, and consequences come with that too. He deserves to be remembered for it all. That’s all I’m saying.
The problem is he went after someone who can't defend them self anymore. If he really is against domestic violence there are plenty of rappers who are ALIVE right now he could of dissed. I haven't heard him say a word about Fabolous situation lol
But with x, people are just trying to act like it didn't happen. People are out here worshipping this kid like he was some great person. His death was tragic and senseless, but the bad things he did arguably outweigh the good.
I remember he made a response to some other youtuber "cancelling bands." In short, he said if you liked the music before and still to this day, then no shame. Just don't support them financially like buying merch or going to shows (even the Brand New is no longer together).
I just dont get how Vic said something new. I think everyone who knows X, knows about his past. I just dont get what Vic was trying to do with dissing x, since x already got shit on and he aknowledged his past. For me this just seems like a silly way of trying to shed light of something we already know about and obviously getting sum clout.

Mariah’s music is infinitely better than Whitney’s imo Whitney has classics and some very great songs but Mariah was more innovative and more talented as a songwriter and more versatile as a vocalist
I will have to very much disagree with what you said about Mariah. Mariah at her best wrote and delivered some pretty heartfelt and emotional tunes (i.e. "Can't Take That Away From Me" from the Rainbow album, "Through The Rain" from the Charmbracelet album and "Fly Like A Bird" from The Emancipation Of Mimi) and vocally speaking Mariah has managed to somewhat maintain her voice in a somewhat solid state compared to her prime, whereas Whitney had a record of deteriotating throughout the years

(AND she WROTE all those songs herself as well BTW!) I am a fan of Whitney too of course, but SHE was the one who had a more workman, slightly removed approach to singing. I do think she is more influential than Mariah, but by NO MEANS is her music more emotional than Mariah's.
I thought it was pretty obvious that Vic doesnt give a shit about women and only went after X for publicity. No one listens to his music so he does publicity stunts so people start talking about him. He did the same thing not too long ago when he tried to start beef with 6ix9ine. Vic waited until X died to say anything about his allegations. If he truly cared about women, he would've spoke against X when the stories came out in 2016 instead of keeping quiet until 2018 when X is dead and cant defend himself. Also, as many people have stated Vic is a hypocrite of the highest degree. He has openly admitted in interviews and songs that he strangled his girlfriend. So what we have here is a COMFIRMED woman beater trying to suck clout from a dead person who MIGHT have abused a woman. Very gross when you think about it.
Mugen Champloo Vic went after X for the same reason twice before he does though. And the whole 6ix9nine thing has a lot to do with Ak instigating let’s be honest.
Did you know that his music, his actions, and the consequences of his actions are all reaching the impressionable audience that his music is aimed towards?"
Fans: "Thats all oppurtunistic reporting, or ankle biters, trying to come after him because he made it big. That stuff doesn't matter, he makes great music that I like."
What kind of fucked up logic is this?
Fantano... man, you have great perspectives and are truly a bright spot in a dark world of the music industry. Thank you
"Posilutely"
I love that word now.
The start of this video sounds like a better version of A-team by travis scott
Or a worse version of Despacito

Let’s Argue: Bassline Intro’s are better.
I... agree!
I have to agree with this
My issue is when people demonize abusers even though they are attempting to change their behaviour and do good in their own life and for society (ie.
Not trying to play down his crimes, but ameers accusations aren’t even in the same ballpark as x’s

I can't wait to see how this turns out 👀😂
Some Canadian Girl this should be spicy
Doesn't mean Anthony's trying to bash Jon
I remember he made a response to some other youtuber "cancelling bands." In short, he said if you liked the music before and still to this day, then no shame. Just don't support them financially like buying merch or going to shows (even the Brand New is no longer together).
Venomous Vince He meant the guy who asked the question was bashing Jon. I doubt Anthony was even aware that the commenter was talking about him
Dylan Connely I know but the OP implied something along the lines of "oh boy this is gonna be interesting" like there's gonna be some big drama
I almost always agree with you, fantano. You're the best, and your success shows it.
Love.

I’d rather watch “old albums that Anthony likes” week than classics week

I don't know any of Vic Mensa's music.... but he has a point even though xx was murdered and it was sad but he wasn't a good person!
Vina14eva vic did it too
Vina14eva how was he not a good person
Tristan Heet I love x I really do but for most of his life he was pretty much a shitty person but he was trying to change at the end but I feel like he got killed before he could redeem himself which is sad
If that's the case, everyone you know that has been to prison/jail in the past is a bad person as well. By your own logic.

you guys must not have heard of Torso Fucker
im kidding, don't look that band up its fucking awful
Psychostick is great aswell though.
Mariah’s music is infinitely better than Whitney’s imo Whitney has classics and some very great songs but Mariah was more innovative and more talented as a songwriter and more versatile as a vocalist
Mariah was a better artist and influenced pop enormously.. but Whitney is also iconic
Mariah isn't much of a songwriter. All of her hits have ghost writers.
@I Have a Small Urethra apparently hitting high notes is all there is to a voice
I was so happy when that Chocolate and Cheese classic review dropped
I will have to very much disagree with what you said about Mariah. Mariah at her best wrote and delivered some pretty heartfelt and emotional tunes (i.e. "Can't Take That Away From Me" from the Rainbow album, "Through The Rain" from the Charmbracelet album and "Fly Like A Bird" from The Emancipation Of Mimi) and vocally speaking Mariah has managed to somewhat maintain her voice in a somewhat solid state compared to her prime, whereas Whitney had a record of deteriotating throughout the years
Whitney's drug abuse doesn't take away from what she did in her prime.
In the Woods I'm not talking about the drugs. It has been noted many times by many vocal coaches that Whitney had a flawed technique
@@dinosaursaurus4137 so what, she's not an opera singer and neither is mariah. It all comes down to personal preference in the end. Who gives a fuck if you can hit the dolphin register in a pop song.
In the Woods I'm talking about technique not range, but I will agree with the preference part
Nice to see some Psychostick love, they actually have some tasty riffs too so that's a bonus.

You are completely wrong about Mariah and Whitney! Listen to Mariah's songs "Petals" or "Outside" or "Twister" or "Camouflage" or "Looking In" or "Everything Fades Away" or "Sunflowers for Alfred Roy" or "Vanishing" etc etc etc! (AND she WROTE all those songs herself as well BTW!) I am a fan of Whitney too of course, but SHE was the one who had a more workman, slightly removed approach to singing. I do think she is more influential than Mariah, but by NO MEANS is her music more emotional than Mariah's.
BOOM!, and IIIIIIIIIeeeeIIIII will always love youuuuuuuuuu
As for the “admitting to beating his girl” thing it honestly seemed like he just wanted to unpack his shit, didn’t seem like he was to proud of it at all. Seems like people are too busy dickriding X to be objective 🧐
@@jennieguardian7094
I'm not dickriding X at all. Your comment hasnt refuted anything I said lmao. Vic still doesnt give af about women and he still dissed X in his cypher for clout.
I never once said or implied that Vic was "proud" of himself for beating a woman. All I said was that it makes him a hypocrite for disrespecting a dead person who MAY have abused a woman, when he himself is a CONFIRMED woman abuser.
Mugen Champloo You are really stupid if you think if someone raps about something it means they’ve done it. That would make tyler the creator a necrophiliac rapist murderer, why aren’t you outraged at him? Oh yeah bc people can rap about a topic or say they have done something they havent to paint a picture with their music and create a story. Certainly not a “confirmed” abuser
Or maybe Mensa has confirmed the validity of that line in particular in interviews, while Tyler hasn’t? Man people are retarded.
Boy he confirmed it in interviews get out of here lol
You should review the new City Morgue album. ZillaKami is a member and he has been featured by Denzel Curry alongside Jpegmafia whom I'm aware you're fond of.

Hope to argue the rest, but we've been given way less time than suspected.
Actually Wonderful Rainbow had alot of bright sunny moments in the noise. Face it, it wakes you up, alot, and its catchy.
Never understood that dude. He had weak bars, he wasn't a lyricist, his beats were awful mostly and he had a horrible history of abuse. Honestly when he was alive I was saying fuck that guy, seriously. But outta respect since he isn't here to defend himself, it was what it was. Just not for me, I guess.
Let's argue: the Persona 5 OST will be the best album you've ever reviewed.

Wrong, Majora's Mask is the best OST. You can't tell me Final Hour isn't the best piece of music ever.
Unkindpigeon Majora’s Mask is my favourite game ever if you wanted to know. I just think P5 has a style closer resembling ”normal music”
