I'm the buyer of the rainbow squid that didn't have any red. Red is my least favorite color, so this was the perfect little plushie for me 😂 Also, if anyone is considering a purchase from Rachel, I highly recommend her work!
Omg hi 🤗 Thank you so much!
I love this comment cause it's a good reminder that what I may see as a mistake/problem in my work, another person may see as an EXCELLENT feature!!! Stuff like this helps me avoid the perfectionism trap in crochet.
@@abbyzinger love this too. Maybe a video about perfectionism and crochet coming soon?
@@Tfwcrochet I fully support that idea!
What a fun video! Love your categories too! 😊
So glad you liked it 🥰
Happy New Year. 🎆🎈🎊My hands were busy keeping my dogs calm during the fireworks. Poor babies. 😢
Ugh I’m sorry. Lily isn’t scared of them but my dog who passed away, River, was scared of them and of thunder. Poor thing.
You are a delight Rachel. I’m so glad your channel popped up in my recommended a few months ago as I really appreciate your natter and chatter, Lilly and the rest. Looking forward to 2025 with you. If you have a postal address I’d love to send you some weird yarns I’ve collected over the last ‘many, many “ years so you can try them and see what you think. Compared to when I was a kid there are so many different ones now available, I had wool, and cotton for doilies and then the synthetic yarns started coming in. Off topic but it’s a story
I remember my mum buying a microwave in the mid seventies. It was very expensive . Probably 10 times what they cost now, at least, she saved up all year, We had to put it in the spare bedroom as it was huge and there was no room in the kitchen. Mum read the instruction book which was full of scary words and finally she put a cup of water in it and my dad told us all to stand back. It didn’t have a rotating plate so we all stood behind my dad, who I suppose was going to protect us when it exploded and watched this cup sitting there for about 2 minutes, I think the microwave was 600 watts. It didn’t have a digital read out you just turned a knob and waited. We survived, phew! and my dad opened the door, again telling us to stand back and took out the cup and we all exclaimed that the water was hot. Wow, what a family moment. My sister who had been hoping for some excitement said “now what?"
It’ was only a few days after we survived the water heating my mum taught me how to crochet using a 1mm hook and very fine doilie cotton yarn, I made nothing but doilies for years and then realised they made crochet hooks bigger than 1.00mm and you could make other things, I’ve got a hard cover book from the 1950’s that was my mothers with all sorts of weird and wonderful things to make. I discovered there were other stitches besides pineapple dc. It wasn’t till years later I was given an iPad and an internet connection and a whole new crocheting world opened up to me. Alas my mum died about a month after I discovered TH-cam. I so wish she was still here as she made at least 40 blankets and they were all the same stitch as she didn’t know there were any others. She would have loved all the different things today.
🌈🦘happy new year to you and your family.
You are so sweet. Thank you for sharing your story with me. I wonder what all my great grandma could have learned with YT as well. She never learned to read a pattern but knew how to do all the stitches. I would love it if you wanted to send me yarn! If you’d like to email or DM on Instagram we can arrange something.
After seeing your video featuring the cardigan I made one myself and love, love, LOVE it. It was my first wearable and I choose the same yarn in a slightly different color. Thank you for the inspiration!
Yay!! I’m so glad you like it!!
I absolutely LOVE the catagory names, and I agree, hadestown isn't talked about nearly enough. It's my top favourite musical I've seen in person!
Kindred spirits! Hadestown and Hamilton are probably tied for my favorite musicals. Both were really meaningful to me and came at a time I needed them. My husband LOVED Hadestown and is trying to find a way for us to go again 😅
I was crocheting the back panel of a cardigan for my sister-in-law. This was a lot of fun to watch. May you and your family have a very Happy New Year!
Thank you so much! You as well!
I’m working on my husband’s blanket. Happy New Year!
i was working on a tunisian crochet dish towel throughout this video! it's nice that you can rank your work so highly, and you deserve to, your projects are so fun and cute. i think it's too easy to look down on our projects so seeing a lot of well-ranked cuties is nice!
I can definitely be too critical of myself but I am proud of what I accomplished this year and I want to give that confidence to others as well!
This was fun getting to see all your beautiful work again! Hope you’re having a great holiday season! 💕
I was knitting on a cape. You made so many things :)
This was just the things I made for the channel too! I made so many custom orders and gifts this year too. Whew!
I love watching your videos! Its always so much fun
So glad you enjoyed!!
This video is soooo satisfying/fun to watch and now i got all these other videos on your channel from the past year to watch and catch up on!
You’re too sweet 🥹
I love watching your vids! I popped in around Halloween so I have some catching up to do!!! I had no idea you did a Bubblegum and Marceline. Happy 2024-I think you had a fabulous year and I wish you an even better 2025! I’m excited to ride out the next year with you!
You’re too sweet 🥰 So excited for the new year. Casually wrote out some ideas for video yesterday and the list is already up to 20 🫢
I just recently stumbled on your channel and have been enjoying binging your videos! Today I am working on Crafty Intention’s small wyvern and having so much fun! It was supposed to be done by Christmas Eve, but I think it will actually be done today 😅
A wyvern! That sounds so cute! I need to look that up.
Hi Rachel, I enjoyed your video! Your work is beautiful and you did right ranking so many of them so high!
I was working on my first self-designed Dino with the worst yarn ever for my daughter.
Take care
all the best from Germany
Jules
xx
Thank you 😭
What yarn is it? I’m curious!
@ it’s from the German version of Dollar Tree, TeDi. Their Velvet Color yarn. They also have another velvet yarn called Soft Cloud, that is really nice, but the Velvet Color is shedding badly and breaking and you can’t use it to sew on things… I made a shorts reel where I talk about it, it’s the second video I put up.
I am still developing the chubby dino pattern, just made another one. This time of year, in Germany we call „in between the years“, I don’t think there is an English counterpart to that expression, but it’s the perfect time to hang out and crochet. Not much to do.
I can't afford Patreon, so I would have loved to see those projects as part of this recap! I know it's meant for only Patreon members, but I also think talking about them would be good advertising for it ☺️
I see what you’re saying. Since I only have had Patreon since August it was only a couple things since some of the videos were more chatty.
I just got some colorama halo yarn at Joann’s. Can’t wait to start a project with it. I’m thinking some sort of sweater! I’m not crocheting anything while I’m watching tonight. Loved looking through your projects again. Happy new year!
Sounds like an exciting year! I wonder what 2025's animal of the year will be (I'm placing my bet on owls-this year was a warm-up)!
I am still working on my hexagon cardi bc I've been distracted by commissions and projects for markets, but today I'm trying to take time for myself and get the second half done so I can get them put together and get to work on the sleeves and bottom soon. Almost there!
I hope your 2025 is a peaceful and fruitful one!
Owl was probably in second place as the animal of the year this year and then maybe goats though those were all for my shop. Been thinking of making a goat pattern so maybe 2025 will be the year of the goat!
I found you from your video making the girlies! Currently rewinding some yarn to use and hate it because it keeps getting tangled lols.
Oh goodness been there!
First time commenter, love your stuff! I'm making a wizard crow from crocheted by bogusia on etsy. I would love to see you do an not sponsored hooks and needles box review sometime in the new year!
Great idea. The wizard crow sounds so cute!
Hey Rachel, I have a yarn suggestion for you if you haven't tried it. The Red Heart Super Saver Ombre. The color phasing is similar if not identical to the perfect phasing that Caron Cholorama Halo has. I'm currently using it for a scarf and a shawl and I'm loving the color phasing on it so far
Oooo I will check it out!
@Tfwcrochet the texture is definitely that red heart super saver texture but the coloration is super pretty. I'm actually using Caron latte cakes yarn to make myself my very first sweater using the hexagon pattern you pinned in your sweater video. The color workup is coming out really pretty and the texture is super soft
I think the bat and bull dog could go up on the top. Ive done a couple hundred amigurumis (some for charity) and am interested in your projects. I actually liked Tiny the dino. You might be able to pull out the mouth and redo it. I also liked the pink chick, but maybe it just looks good on camera like you said, and since it sheds... oh, it was a worm. Oops. The orange heart was cute and of course the fox and white owl. I like your squids. I never tried that. I did octopuses though. So what do I think I'd like to do next? Hmmm. The white owl. Thx for the run down. ❤
Hadestown mention!
@@trees_are_round yessss such a great show!
Working on . . . Disney Dreamlight Valley lol
Hope it was fun!
