I'm an amateur crocheter and the thought of even *possibly* selling my work is incredibly daunting lol. A friend recommended this video and I'm grateful that she did. Subbed!
Seeing individuals like yourself give me the motivation to push on the make and sell my own plushies and items. I'm glad that I found someone such as yourself. So thank you. And well done on the sales.
AHHH it was so nice finally meeting you!! 🥺💖 thank you so much and good luck with next year! your vlog is on my to be watched soon i can finally catch up on yt videos haha
I was really looking forward to this vlog, especially after seeing how other artists did at AWA. So happy that it went well for you - and here's to an even better 2025!
That was such a fun watch! The big plushie was absolutely adorable, I loved seeing it find a new home and be appreciated! You should totally make my Cactus Cat design and sell it at your next craft fair. It's my most favorited pattern on Ravelry, so I really think it would be a hit.
I was so happy to see that you did better than last year and still had inventory left this time that means you planned very well, 🎉congratulations. I would love to apply next year you are such an inspiration!!!
Big red flag there with doubling the artist alley size. Artist alley shouldn’t be more than under 200 vendors. I didn’t know the amount of vendors at Baltimorecon and it was a ridiculous 500 plus headcount for artist alley. I tanked at that show. I’m betting over half the vendors did the same.
@pikachuwolf0788 I think because the volume of artists tabling at the same event can make the market saturated, meaning there’s more competition to get your stuff out there as well but I’m just guessing so feel free to correct me. And also there was a time, I joined a convention where there were a lot of other artists who were already occupying up the space and there were a lot of people who attended the event too, it was quite hectic. Some artists got there stuff stolen because it was just too crowded it was hard to monitor every single thing and the people couldn’t move around and look through stuff as well.
@pikachuwolf0788 Put yourself in the shoes of a customer. Just the volume of artists is overwhelming. People, usually older/elderly and people with small kids, will only make it to 20-50 artist tables before they fatigue. Unless they zip though the aisles without paying much attention. So the first 50+ artist tables will also get the most exposure. Personally, I wouldn't want to have a table at a show that large, nor would I want to cruise it.
I’m so happy you surpassed last year!! Congrats! It was a pleasure to meet you Mel! Let us know if you ever come to Hawai’i haha and awww your bunnies in the background!! So adorable! Happy New Year to you and your family!
It was so great to meet you! I bought one of the bumblebees on the Saturday of the con. Not sure if I'll attend AWA in future years (I only went this year because one of my favorite singers was a special guest), but I'm local to Atlanta as well so hopefully I can see you at other events!
Love your videos and I’m glad that you surpassed your sales goal but unfortunately about the news you found out. I love your set up as well. Could you please put the link to the white rolling shelves please? I definitely would love to get one, if you don’t mind of course
i was waiting for this video !! happy that it went well for you n can't wait for what you have more of in 2025💓 also do you double strand your projects by any chance?
Great job at AWA! I'm sorry it seemed really slow on a couple of those days. I'm curious as to if you ever have a problem with designs that are copywrited from shows and games. I've heard that a lot of the cons are cracking down on that and even have been stating in the admission contracts that they are not allowed. I know at the last con I attended, there were quite a few vendors that had to remove items.
My sister is married to a rich guy and he gives her whatever she wants so she buys "designer bags and jewellery" but little does he know that everything she has is a fake. She puts that money on the side for probably a rainy day. True story kislux
