    Part 2: th-cam.com/video/8oZPc3B0bS4/w-d-xo.html
Correction: At 12:00, $100 million should be *Rs 170 crore*, not Rs 70 crore - also the currency conversions are done using conversion rates in 1990 and 1996.

As a Kannadiga and having born and brought up in Bengaluru - I'm proud of my city, state and language! Especially my dad, as he attended IISC and still to this day works at HAL! The details are immaculate and the British Raj photos as well. Would love to see some schools teach this kind of content to the kids, as they will be proud of our state as well.

I think this could have been multi part series. For example, how Bangalore was majorly in BPO or in some cases services. Until 2010, TCs, infosys was majorly supporting the software. Microsoft, Amazon etc used to give support work to India as India fitted that 24 hr cycle of support. But then Flipkart happened(And i'm sure many more other startups).
Once these engineers(not just founders) started going out and applying these practices/knowledge in other startups or companies, opportunities jumped and salaries went insane.
I still remember, Amazon didn't have much SDE3 in India in 2014(One I knew had a salary of 36L in 2014 which was a big deal). Today, Amazon pays 1.2 Cr to SDE3.
Products are not just made for Indian market, they are designed and built from scratch in India.

    • @StoaHQ
      @StoaHQ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Excellent insights man, loved the deep knowledge.
Infact, it's because of these startups, India started getting recognised as a Skilled Labour inventory and not cheap labour.
Situation was pretty terrible pre Indian startups.

lndia's IT companies are extremely weak and uncompetitive. Both their hardware and software markets are dominated by Chinese.
Chinese phones take up 90% of lndian market share. And Chinese software is even more dominant in lndian App stores. Their gov has to ban Chinese software like "tiktok", "pubg" etc by violating freedom of speech. lol
lndia has infosys, TCS only bcz they can speak good English. But the quality of their hardware and software suck big time. General motors and Ford learnt good lessons and they all quit lndia.

I am an average IT engineer and by no means consider self as an excellent engineer. But I am great with troubleshooting issues and now manage 5 Brits and Irish guys. They revert to me when they cannot solve issues. This is a great achievement for me considering my grandpa slaved under British raj and I used to have panic attack when I had to speak with people from USA and UK at the beginning of my career.

Wodeyar built a lot of industries, colleges from engineering to law to medical. He also built multiple advanced hospital in the city. This is a contribution of Many in making Bengaluru as Silicon Valley.
Meanwhile Chandra babu Naidu says he was the first to get the Software industry in Hyderabad than before Bengaluru. He discovered Hyderabad again. 😂😅🤣😁😃😅

Spot ON and Excellent analysis by your team. Just one key figure is missed in this episode, S M Krishna (Former Chief Minister of Karnataka) who brought in the concepts of SEZ (Special economic zones ) which allowed the foreign companies to make and setup the business easy and at affordable (giving tax exemptions) , thus inviting many companies and whole of India's tech folks migrating to Bengaluru city.

Sadly, no mention of the former CM, Mr. S. M. Krishna, who's responsible for the current 'Silicon Valley' status.
He was then called as "CEO of Karnataka". Incomplete documentation
