    Absolutely perfect video I needed to watch :) I'm right at the stage where new growth is coming on, and as a first time dragonfruit grower, I had no idea, til this video, what to do and how to give the plants the best opportunity. One question about the garden tape - why doesn't it inhibit the growth of the trunks? I'm using rubber garden cord and I'm worried I'm going to cut off the growth of the stalks.

    Hi Richard my name is Kevin, your videos have helped me so much, I'm a beginner I'm going to build two trellises the way you instruct on your video and start with them, I'm going to need some cuttings obviously and I suppose that means I would start with 8 total cuttings, again per your video, do you have a favorites list of varieties, and I wouldn't mind some of them being self sterile, I would actually enjoy learning how to help the plants get pollinated, collecting pollen and so forth. Anyways thanks for your consideration, and keep up the good work, you're very cheerful and always carry a lot of joy in your videos and that is beautiful!

    Hey! Thanks for putting this video out! I just started growing my four dragonfruit varieties, and they've just rooted. I think my plants took longer to root (I planted them in December) because recently here in Louisiana the temperatures got around 10 degrees fahrenheit, so I had to bring them inside frequently and they didn't get a lot of sun. I'm actually going to use tomato trellises when I transplant them from their little pots that I put them in for the winter to move them around easily. What are your thoughts on using trellises?

    I got my first dragon fruit a few months ago, I had to go leave it for a week so my aunt who has a bad hip took care of it (it's still small in a hanging pot), I had already watered it and i didn't feel safe leaving the blinds open and it just needed the sun. I feel like a mother who had to spend a week from their newborn it grow so much. It has 3 shoots that are really long but I'm terrified of it getting bigger and not having a big enough pot for it.

    He should’ve said YOU DONT HAVE TOO cut and prune these to make them faster. It’s just a preference. It will make it grow faster yes. But it’s not for everyone you can compare with a cut and NON cut. Sell the growth. I would like to see that video. A plant you didn’t cut all summer. A cutting. And another which you cut and topped. Which is faster

      I grow different variety in 1 pot to maximize my space. This is also to see if I like the variety enough to put multiple of it in one pot. The issue will be they can get mixed up as they mature but if you’re good at keeping track of what branch is which variety then you’ll be okay.

  • @tariqyasin9594
    @tariqyasin9594 ปีที่แล้ว

    In my humble opinion...the consideration to sacrifice so many side shoots to reach the trellis top in an earlier time frame seems flawed. The plant won't fruit till it reaches its maturity age foe fruiting which is around nine months. So letting multiple shoots grow together would result in a healthy and esthetically appealing branch structure and umbrella while the plants ages and matures for fruiting.

    Can someone tell me what the fertilizer and good bacteria used in the video.
    Followed the cuttings and it is actually growing. Hopefully I can get a fruit. Had the plant for 3 years and nothing

    Hi, do you think growing dragon fruits is possible in San Francisco? We do have hot weather here.
