    Howdy from a 65 year old, with his first scooter, 2 x 1200v motors, from New Zealand. I got my scoot as soon as the courier companies returned to work in '23, so ive had it about 1 month. I love it and out riding it reminds me of when I was a kid out on my bike looking around my city. I actually get some of the same thoughts and feelings, funny that. I like to believe that those of us who ride pevs are introverted in some manner or other but our batteries work the same. They recharge when we are in our own company. I really enjoy your content and I loved this new route. Pevs are refreshing to ride however they can get monotonous riding the same route.

      I agree with you. There’s something quite soothing about “ride therapy”. Being on the road just relaxing while listening to music is amazing.
      I’m glad you enjoyed the new routes. I try to change it up when I have extra time because I do my recording to on from work. I rarely get time to just ride on my day off so it does end up feeling monotonous. Especially when there’s only 3 ways to get to the city and most of the time you gotta take the “usual fast route” to work 😂

    I am definitely an introvert. Sometimes relatives are a little put off when I always get a hotel when I visit but I need get back to a space that is just my own at the end of a day visiting.
    How is the polish finger throttle? I’ve seen posts on other places saying it is just on or off with no fine control. Do you have any links of which one to by or installation instructions?
    Thanks for this content I really love seeing how you navigate the streets of NY on the Nami. I know in other videos you have talked about doing some videos of other non-commute rides. I would love to see that! Thanks!

      I'm the exact same when I travel to an area with family lives. I appreciate them opening their doors to me, however, I'd much rather have my own personal space with a hotel or a bnb.
      In my opinion, this throttle is amazing. I made the switch to it after about 800 miles on the thumb throttle and I'm glad that I did. In my experience, the PFT allows for finer feathering of the throttle. I can ride my Nami with all the settings maxed out and I have as much control at 4mph as i do at 55+mph. I also don't just squeeze the hell out of it all the time lol. I always assume folks haven't set it up properly or have not taken the time to learn how to use it properly. Check out this link: facebook.com/photo/?fbid=1435752426759909&set=pcb.758654631480592 . This is the diagram I gave to my mechanic during installation.

      Hey William, thanks for watching the video and thanks for your support! I appreciate ya. I would recommend one of the beast scooters for you. As a taller heavier rider, you’ll need a scooter a scooter with power. A riding buddy of mine has your build and he’s had the Nami Burn E, Wolf warrior gt, wolf king gt, and a few smaller ones. As a bigger guy, you’ll need the deck space to stand comfortably and all of those would do the job. Just make sure to confirm ip rating if you need water resistance. I think that’s a good place to start. I would also check Electric Scooter Guide video on top 5 scooters for big guys. Ramier does an amazing job of breaking it down. Thanks for watching the video! I did a first impression of the Burn-E 2 a few months ago when my friend loaned me his. Check it out, here's the link.
      th-cam.com/video/Wjh2dWO3LQY/w-d-xo.html
      In short, I really enjoyed my time on the Burn-E 2. It was alot of fun and plenty of power for a commuter scooter. I personally wouldn't upgrade from the original Burn-E to the Burn-E 2 because it would reduce my range and top speed. However, I would consider upgrading to the Nami Klima Max or Nami Blast Max because they have a smaller profile than the Burn-E. As much as I love this scooter, sometimes it's just a little too big for the spaces I'm trying to navigate (i.e. hallways, work bike room, convenience stores, drug stores etc)

  • @ssoffshore5111
    @ssoffshore5111 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'm curious, if buying a PEV for use in the city, what would be the minimum max speed you'd recommend for this type of commuting? Obviously having more in reserve is great should you need it, but with it generally comes size, weight, and cost.

    • @eyebahnrides
      @eyebahnrides  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching the video, I appreciate ya! I say the minimum max speed is 30mph with a decent amount of torque. The reason is there are times that you won’t be able to use a bike lane and 30-37 mph will allow you comfortably move with the flow of traffic. If your commute is all bike lanes, any of the scooters or bikes that go 20-25mph will be more than doable! For city riding, I believe that torque/ acceleration and stopping power is more important than top speed. The ability to stop and quickly accelerate will help you get out of a lot of shtty situations.
      I love my Nami Burn E but I do feel that it’s a bit overkill for 99% of what I do. I’m even considering changing to the Nami Klima which is much smaller and has a lower top speed.
      I hope this helps!

    • @ssoffshore5111
      @ssoffshore5111 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@eyebahnrides Great feedback! I actually live on the CT shoreline for most of the year, so I very seldom see any traffic conditions like that, but I was quite curious about this as I was also thinking about bringing a scooter into NYC. I actually recently saw a good video on the Nami Klima and thought of you as it seems to have amazing to torque and acceleration, but in a lighter and more compact size. It's interesting you're considering switching over to it. I just didn't know if it would be fast enough for doing the type of commuting you do within the city. BTW, the new Roadruner RS5+ looks attractive as well.

    • @eyebahnrides
      @eyebahnrides  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ssoffshore5111 Thanks, I'm glad I could help! Yea, a compact performance type of scooter would probably be best if you have to take it on the the MetroNorth. I would even check their scooter requirements because I know they're banned on certain public transpo like NYC buses. I saw the Ride & Glide video and I've been watching the ride footage of the Klima/ Blast owners it in the Nami group and I'm really impressed by it.
      One of my favorite scooters that I've ever owned was the Mantis Pro. It was perfect except for the water resistance and the stiff suspension. The Klima is literally a significantly upgraded version of that original mantis and, in my opinion, a better looking option to the Mantis King GT. Ill check out the Road Runner 5. I have to really deep dive into the batteries because try to be as conscious of the the battery packs that are in the scooter. With all the fires that are going around NYC, I don't want to add to that stat.

    Hi I'm looking for a hyper scooter to do Uber eats around here and to have fun on my spare time do you recommend the nami to keep up with traffic the higher speed limits around here is 38 mph everybody else does 43 mph everywhere is the scooter stable at those speeds my first upgrade is going to be my old bikes wider handlebar and then PMT tires and after a year I'm going to swap out the suspension do you think that the scooter would be a good purchase for me I'll be purchasing the 2024 model by the time I save up and purchase the nami burn-E do you recommend this scooter to me I'm mechanically inclined I work on my own bicycles motorcycles and cars and I have a motorcycle license and motorcycle gear e-bikes in Canada are restricted to 15 mph but e-scooters are open to whatever you want plus the city is not bike friendly

      Thanks for watching the video! If the max speed that you need is in the mid 40's mph, I would recommend the Burn E2 or the Blast so that you don't have to spend Burn E or E2 Max amounts of money. Both give you great ride comfort and great stability at high speeds. The reason most people get wobbles with the Burn E/ E2 max is they decelerate too hard at 55+mph and or the riding posture is off. Ive had my Burn E now for over 2000+ miles and almost 2 years and it's the most reliable and fun scooter I've owned. Regardless of which Nami you decide to go with, they all have amazing power delivery that gives you excellent control over the speed so that you can keep up with any form of traffic that you encounter. With the higher power variants of the scooter, it will allow you to keep up at the higher speeds.
      I hope this helps

    i dont understand difference between introverts and extroverts. I think all ppl are social creatures. You just need to find right company

      Hey Bruno, thanks for watching the video and welcome back! It's all good. Disclaimer: I'm not an expert on the subject, I just know a little bit based on what I've read over the years. lol with that said, you're correct. We're all social creatures. The difference is how the introvert/ extrovert's brains are wired to respond to the social stimulus. Introverts find it to be draining and will require time to recharge after, while the extrovert gains energy from the situation and doesn't need to recover from it.

    Can you talk about the problems you faced using the scooter so far? Like changing the tyres to PMT brand or any other controllers faults, or sound in the suspensions?
    I am planning on buying one, but I need to find out what problem will face me.

      Hey Ecoder, thanks for watching the video. I have a review video you can check out here th-cam.com/video/6UPY-nOBIEU/w-d-xo.html. Let me know if you have more questions after. As for changing the tires, I didn’t do it my self I had my scooter shop do it and they did it quickly and easily. Only major issue I had was a cracked rim. That was my fault because I was speeding in an area I wasn’t familiar with and hit a large pothole at high speed. I’m at 1800 miles now and no issues with the scooter. Keep in mind I also don’t abuse it and I actually have it maintained
