    This is why the Honda Motocompacto makes sense. To the untrained eye it looks like rolling luggage. Also, I feel like if you remove the battery from an e-bike it’s no longer an e-bike. At that point it’s just a bike because there’s no e.

      thanks for joining us for the s73's return to the rotation! Yea man, it's funny that I just spoke about not every PEV needs to be your balls stuck to the wall fast and we got a comment from someone who is like Supers suck because "insert speed value proposition comment here" lol. I hate when people try to force their opinion on you. Just let those of us that love what we love live our lives! Oh man, thats crazy with that ebike ban at your inlaw's building. It's an all to common sight across NYC now. It's interesting because the city itself is taking this more "PEV friendly approach" while the landlords seem to be pushing an agenda.

      @@eyebahnrides Your welcome, The only requirements I look for in a e-bike is: -Can it get hills on steep inclines because Mount Vernon is just hills 🤣 -Is it fast enough to keep up with traffic -Does it come with hydraulic brakes I have learned a lot from my first e-bike and my old sit down scooters with horrible battery life 🤣. Battery fires as you already know is the main reason why landlords are not allowing e-bikes in apartments, the class and style of the bike not so much. But your neighbors, OMG he’s bringing a Harley Davidson in the elevator 🤣. When I get my new e-bike I’ll just continue street parking it with multiple locks and removing the battery. Excellent video Ivan.

      One thing landlords don't even know they must fear, it's a disgruntled, bullied tenant. Is heat included? Might want to crank it up & open the windows. Oops,. missed the garbage bin a gain. Who left a roast beef sandwich in the elevator's call-box? Sir, you look cold. How about your stand in our doorway to warm up while you boot black tar heroin? As a Kepler/Super owner, midtown employee I totally understand your pain... the combo of the size of the bikes and the electric fobia they get red flag at building but luckily we got to a compromised where we are allowed to parked in the bikeroom but not allowed to charged... as time passes people are starting to see they are safe as long as they are not missed used... DONT GIVE UP YET BROTHER!!! 👍👍🫡🙏💪

    • @eyebahnrides
      @eyebahnrides 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      thanks for joining us for the s73's return to the channel! It's pretty insane how much this is happening with Midtown landlords. I'm glad that you guys were able to find that compromise with them. That's the similar compromise we had in our old building. Management would allow us to store a ton of bikes, scooters, EUCs, esk8, edirtbikes etc as long as noone was charging. That building was more afraid of battery fires, but my new building doesn't seem to be as worried about that. They seem to only be interested in avoiding conflict with the building Karens I definitely haven't given up and I hope that putting the bike in our storage unit is just a temporary thing. Maybe a solution will land in all of our laps or maybe the channel will blow up and I'll end up as a full time creator with my garage/office space and a new home! Stranger things have happened!

    Honestly, the solution is to get out NYC. There is such much better the world has to offer. Sorry to hear you store your bike, that you paid money for, that is street legal. Also, lawyers and stuff wont solve the issue really, cause it will just cause a riff with your landlord (make you move out), or your job (fire you). Lose lose situation!

    • @eyebahnrides
      @eyebahnrides 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      thanks for joining us on the S73's return to the channel! Yea man, I'm totally getting that feeling more and more over the past 5 years. A move out of NYC and a possible move into being my own boss. It definitely sucks to put the bike into storage space that I have to pay for, especially because I bought an S73 since it was the closest to legal compared to all the other options. You're right. Making a scene will only hurt my case and probably hurt my standing with my company. Until I'm ready to be my own boss as a content creator, I'm going to need to have a good relationship with the company I work for and the landlord. But yea, it's always a lose lose situation when it involves landlords of NYC lol

However, making sure that I provide as much information while making sure I document the process in writing is all I can do right now as someone that's worked on the landlord side of the real estate business. Fortunately, the temporary solution of using our storage unit to house the bike is working. I do hope to have a more permanent solution in the coming year!

    I would get a lawyer because if that is a legal bike they shouldn't be able to ban that bike period. Why is it that Mfers can take the breaks off their manual bike and somehow that is more safe than an ebike is beyond me. It's the uneducated people who like to complain but never take the time to research shit.

      thanks for joining us for the S73's return Katon. Unfortunately, this isn't something that can be solved with a lawyer. As a person that's worked on the Landlord side of the real estate business, I can tell you they can basically do whatever they want since they'll most likely out spend you in court. It's an all to common sight across NYC at the moment where the loud minority of PEV haters are getting the landlords to side with them by using media's sensationalized misinformation as evidence. For now the storage solution will help me get by but I hope to have a more permanent solution in the coming year.

    i suppose you could ride the zooz to the storage spot and swap bikes, but then I know you're not supposed to leave the battery in storage (even if disconnected) and then you have to carry the zooz battery with you as you ride the super.

      @@eyebahnrides I was gonna suggest that. If you're paying for a parking spot, maybe charging the bike then storing it in your vehicle, or like he said, find a place nearby who'd let you pick it up on the way out...easier said than done though I know the reality is usually different. You could disguise it as a car. Cardboard all around, fake car sounds, even a rubber honk-honk horn, umbrella for a roof. Get down the street, fold it up into a briefcase. Or even better, get a Honda with one of those fart-canon exhaust pipes. They want you in a car, they're getting one.

    Why are landlords consistently unlikeable? Banning everything rather than dealing with issues on an individual basis? I'm confident that with the negative busy-bodies & Karens we're surrounded with, the wheel would never have been invented. Just once, I'd like to hear a landlord tell a busybody that "no one cares, mind your business". They're too lazy or they're cowardly. I thought maybe a letter could go out to the landlord confirming the certifications on the batteries make it as safe as a cellphone. There are guys living near my building whose Harleys make SO much noise, and it doesn't help that rather than buying earbuds, they mount speakers on them. On Monday, a guy rode by in full biker drag, and I sht you not, "The Final Countdown" was blaring while he scowled like an outlaw. Not that it wasn't hilarious, but neighbors & colleagues need to break the pill in half & realize it could be SO much worse. They're mostly jealous that they aren't benefitting from innovation. and jealous of the advantage that scooters & e-bikes have in commuting/parking. They simply need to be told "no", that the world isn't a giant menu from which they can pick the things they don't like, and get someone else to do their dirty work. If they want everyone to get a huge car & take up that much more space, they deserve the noisiest possible car you can buy. Pardon the rant, I'm just tired of their mindset.

      thanks for joining us for the S73 Ride and thank you for sharing. I 100% agree with you. I know I'll probably sound like a conspiracy theorist but I feel that there's some type of illegal collusion between the landlords, the city, MTA, and the car lobby. For a city that desperately needs alternative transportation solutions, the landlords seem to be pushing unusually hard despite NYC's more "PEV Friendly" stances. Like you said, there are plenty of other problems that they should be worried about but PEVs seem to be the easy target for them because it's new and they won't get killed in the court of public opinion

    • @NunchucksHabit
      @NunchucksHabit วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@eyebahnrides Hey, this is likely TLDR, so no offense taken if you don't get to read this, seriously, I've been worried about this overregulation for some time, and I can't even begin to share how much money, time & maintenance I've saved by not using my car for 4 months more than maybe three times. My Subaru WRX gets pretty bad mileage. I'm usually grossed out by conspiracy theories too - but the absolute one single conspiracy theory I ever believed in was the active contempt petroleum PACs have over the EV industry in North Amerca. When the first Tesla S came out, you'll remember, 16yr olds were beating every noisy car on the 1/4mile track, in silence, I knew there would be massive change. We watched petro influence do everything they could to block the industry. I really, really dislike Elon, but the people he hired to create those cars are geniuses. You'll recall when they first came out, the media junkets that happened whenever a Tesla caught fire - which was far, far less than ICE cars, but the media couldn't wait to make it front page. A piece of metal on the highway comes up & pierces the battery, that is bad news. Battery fires are very humbling. Fact was, Teslas were not bursting into flames spontaneously, in fact they were far less likely to immolate than ICE cars, but how does that saying go - a lie will make it around the world ten times before the truth even gets its pants on? Elon's impossible to like, so "elon's exploding cars" worked its way into the public psyche. Just watch my hero Pete Buttigieg being grilled on EV tech in Congress, those rubes are relentless & FOX only play the loaded questions, not the debunking replies. But what is it about landlords & easily-annoyed tenants? I think most of it's jealousy, ignorance and the catharsis of lonely people being involved in something. IMO, landlords fear 5 things, in descending order of their own priorities: 1. COST: If electricity is included, I could see why they'd be more apt to upcharge for electricity. Can't ask them to play THEIR part in environmental efforts if it costs anything. 2. EFFORT: Do they have to reach out to every tenant with a PEV to filter out the dodgy PEVs? Are PEV's littering the halls or blocking entrances? Is enforcement costing them extra time? 3. SPACE: How many PEV's per tenant is too many? Are you only taking as much as your allotted space? Assuming the space & noise of not having a vehicle constantly coming & going isn't taken into account. 4. LEGAL: Will a landlord or their management have to spend time in court to evict someone on the basis of EV laws? What duty of care does building management owe everyone? What's the lowest common denominator - what behavior patterns are being noticed that are an actual danger/inconvenience? If some guy with a discount battery ends up toasting their entire floor, is it really the industry to blame or is it just the company that provided the battery? What do insurance companies REALLY know about this supposed increased risk? If it was just a few isolated incidents from shoddy batteries no longer sold, how would we even know? Would insurance companies reduce their rates on account of reduced risks & industry standards, or would they continue to use isolated, historical incidents to keep their rates up? Who stands up for the consumer here? *What are the PEV makers doing to lobby on their own behalf? Can we add our names to their legal petitions? Why don't they ask us?* 5. SAFETY: What certifications truly define 'safe'? Should PEV owners be required to inform the landlord of the battery certifications to their landlord to at least maintain a dialogue? I'm not anti-gun, I own guns (legally of course) myself here in Canada - but if a person can legally purchase & store firearms in their apartment without their insurance going up, how much more at risk ARE people? A CO2 fire extinguisher, regularly inspected, is a reasonable compromise, IMO, as a gesture of forbearance & again, an active dialogue. Extinguisher powder is corrosive. If you use a powdered extinguisher in your apt, you need to cover all your electronics, including TV's, scooters, computers, even cellphones immediately. It cannot be vacuumed. So CO2 is the best option that I know of. I think you're right about people when they've made up their minds - they dig their heels in. It sounds like people simply need to be more informed. Landlords could really mend fences by sending out a newsletter to tenants - or a sign in the elevator - in the spirit of "let's all have a meeting or an open dialogue about the riding of, and storage of, PEV's [as it pertains to the property ONLY]". Like, how have you been at risk or your lifestyle affected specifically on the premises only, not some kid on a rental scooter almost running into them elsewhere. PEV manufacturers should be working as one, to pay for ad space or even a commercial, to dispel rumors. Not glossing over the negative events, but instead focusing on how federal standards must now be met, so as to not have them happen again. The real stats are far lower than the assumptions. The enviro-angle as well - how much gas have you not burned, how much space have you not taken up in traffic, how much noise have you not caused? I told the tenants in my building in the elevators when they saw me with the scooter, that it's a Canadian product that has all the certifications for safety, and is no riskier than a cellphone. They might not have cared, but they're still less likely to complain. I told my landlord as well. But the lowest common denominator has to be considered, I know - thing is, it's not hard to single them out. Even a passive-aggressive sign - "SCOOTERS / E-BIKES: We are a PEV-friendly property, but please help us by WALKING your scooter, powered off, when on premises. Please also wipe your wheels before coming in. Thank you, -Mgmt".

I want to last longer times out there and everything way too much and I just can’t get this off of 15 miles an hour is it’s crazy. I am enjoying what I do have though and when I do get upgraded, I will, as for now I can afford a battery not the price nobody not even Alibaba not even Temu. Everything is real confusing and looks cheap but then when you go to check out the shipping fees cost like $100. I just don’t understand what’s going on I can’t get a battery, enjoy your ride. It would be nice to ride New York City the way you do not as fast as you do, but I would like to last long out there and I just can’t right now. thanks for watching one of the original full commute experience videos on the channel. I definitely live in NYC but I dont really have connections with batteries like that since it's extremely difficult to get not UL Certified batteries in the city because of all the battery fires. I don't think companies can ship non certified batteries into NYC without running the risk of fines, closure, and even arrest. With that in mind, I only have one battery producer that I would trust in the tristate area. You can reach out to Powerful Lithium in Jersey city. They've done everything from complete new builds and repairs. They're definitely going to cost a bit more than dangerous chop shops but you'll have the peace of mind that your home isn't going to burn down. I hope this helps!
