There was a man in my village who kept a flock of Dorset sheep which he would regularly take from one end of the village to the other (very long village, about 2 miles) to graze fields. He didn’t own any land just either rented or landowners just wanted the grass kept down. It was great fun watching them bring she sheep along narrow country lanes and fishing the sheep out of peoples gardens. My neighbours small jersey herd (now gone) always walked the herd up and down the lanes for milking. I used to take my two pet sheep to different fields on rope halters I made and was often photographed by passing tourists who probably thought I was taking them for walkies with my dogs.
Ian, I lived across the river from you in Lydney, so visiting and working the Forest of Dean I'm well used to sheep wandering around. They would shelter out of the wind behind stone walls just around corners, one guy from work ran into a flock of em laid down, wrote his car off and all the sheep got up and scattered. No injuries at all with the sheep, they must have had their thick coats on. Great to see everybody mucking in to get the job done. PS. Sent to pick up a 10 ton roller from one end of the site and bring it to tuther end, The paddy foreman told me to give one patch a light roll on the past. I ask him if a 10 ton one would do, he was a bit lost for a min or two. The told me to FFFF off.
Looking forward to the Jamie cut of family Jones @Cornerfarm and the unexpurgated version. Being a sensitive soul I will cover my ears 😹😹😹, We used to run our heifers up and down the road when they were kept out at a farm a few miles away from the main farm. Even then, in the 70s, there were muppets.
All construction equipment has to run on white diesel now , I even run my own digger on white even if it doing farm work at home because it’s just a pain changing it over when I go off doing construction work with it

An Ed, Granny, AND Val cameo - what a treat! 😁 (aside from your channel, CornerFarm is one of my favorites, but don't see Val on there too often, at least that she knows of or up close 😂). And are you still quite sure you don't want to branch out into sheep again? 😉 also I think it might be time to start thinking about a name for the roller - I know you said it's a sort of short long-term loan, but, I have a feeling it might end up with a new home (provided they can give you a good deal on it). Be really useful for all your little yard projects - or for Famous Dave, if he wants to borrow it?
Hi Farmer P ☺️ What was the distance the sheep had to run to get from the one field to t'other ? I ask because i was concerned for the sheep that laid down, seemingly exhausted. Poor thing ,😢. Was she elderly or just stressed? Great video, Farmer P, as always 👍👌. Take care and hug for Biskit 🐶🩷🤗

Uncle Val was civil as well as visible. No doubt Ed will have his version up soon. Great bit of inter-farmer co operation

I believe HE 2 can still use red diesel. Probably to make up for the loss of fuel duty due to EV's or E type milk floats as I call them.
