What a gem. Thank you for the visit to Terry’s engineering company. Fascinating to see a home grown business like that and Terry’s incredible skills. I have Weavings around the corner from me and it’s great to see British engineering and skills like this. Long may they last.
Really interesting James. When I worked at Monkfield, the farm foreman was similar to Terry. He built 2 sets of discs and a tool bar to pull them, built mole drainers to go behind a CAT converted from a coal dozer, a complete sprayer to go on an MB Trac, loads of stuff. I learnt so much proper engineering there. Nice to see it is still alive .
Great video James! People like Terry are the people you need when running machinery! I was plant manager for a mining company,we had 1000s of piece's of plant and it was guys like terry who we always turned to get us running! Unlike dealers, large engineering company they don't drawings or specs ,just throw it at them and they will repair it
Someone once told me to watch the diesel being delivered as it was as simple as the delivery driver pumping 20 galls or whatever back into his own tank which makes the delivery ticket look genuine, then he can sell the bonus gallons for cash, looks like you could be dealing with some serious fiddling there, loved the terry tour , what a lovely bloke, so knowledgeable yet humble with it.
What a man what an engineer, glad too see he with staff is bringing on new apprentices and staff for the future. Your machines are in safe hands with this workshop available.
Well done James, another cracking episode. Great to see the engineering side, must be good to have that expertise to draw on when needed, and supporting local industry is a bonus. A well done must go to Tom as well, cracking production of the video's.
Excellent Video and what a breath of fresh air seeing some real engineering going on with a clever passionate man! had the pleasure in one of your trucks this morning on the way to work in Much Hadham P7 PFX? I gave way to hime (was in a black Volvo by the Church) lovely clean and very smart and curtious....was well pleased to see one of your trucks 😀😀
Lovely video. In particular the nice friendly interaction between both men. We need people like this to support farming. I also thought the point about young apprenticeship was well made.
Another great update James and very interesting seeing Terry and all of his robot manufacturing machines, yes you will have to keep an eye on the diesel deliveries as that will add up like you said in the video it would be a good idea to meter the fuel as it is pumped into your storage tanks.
These Independent Engineering Companies are fantastic and invaluable to the Agricultural industry, I’d like to have a poke around TWB myself, I thought James was going to tell Terry how to do his Job at one point 😉👍
That was so interesting to meet a local engineer who is so skilled. keep showing us these suppliers - the engineering is great to see. That fuel situation is a worry. Keep on at them it's to expensive to let them get away with it! James, the sound was much fainter on this video. had to crank it to full volume. But well worth listening to.
Putting out video's as good as this you should have no problem hitting 25k subs, excellent video. Tanker driver topped up his central heating tank ready for winter. I used to buy small amount of red from a plant hire company until I checked and found they were short changing me 10%. 100litres on their meter was actually closer to 90litres.
Another great video James, liked the TWB workshop tour a very knowledgeable man Terry is. Good to here the wheats are looking good , and you are getting on well with the spraying.
That is an extremely valid point. The mindset of consecutive British governments has been to purchase from anywhere abroad rather than encourage and support investment in research and development in the heavy engineering and manufacturing industries. The same strategy is applied to the food chain to the extreme detriment of the economies within the Agriculture sector and for a general public seeking sustainable high quality produce. Finance and tourism will NEVER be a substitute for innovation as demonstrated throughout this highly interesting and educational video presentation.
Brilliant video!! These tours are a real treat of us that’ll never be there AND the key for our winter pleasure of viewing…. !!!! Unfortunately not all companies want 🎥 visiting 😬 so open your fileofax and tell people you’ll be calling anyway 🤔🤞🏻🤣
Fuel fraud, what a sad situation to be in. It’s rife in the mega construction sector also and something we investigated at HPC. Our solution was the metering. People think it’s all about fuel theft (i.e., people steeling from the tank, bouzer, or vehicles, but actually more is lost by incomplete delivery volumes. What a fantastic insight to your world James, keep them coming mate.
What a great video. I can't remember what got me watching you but I have been addicted for the past few months. My background in the UK was Manufacturing / Engineering in the Automotive / Oil &G industries and it is interesting how you are progressing Continuous Improvement, Teambuilding & automation in a farming environment. Also great to see some of your suppliers. It's harvest time here in Thailand ..................the closest I get to farming is watching the family bring in the rice crop
As usuall, very informative, wouldnt think much would phase Terry by the looks of how laid back he is…hope you arrive at a good answer re the missing diesel,Thanks for your time and Toms great video skills…👍
That revelation in terms of fuel is absolutely shocking honestly. Surely the suppliers have to comply with the weights & measures act by way of calibrated equipment on the tanker?
Your local authority’s Trading Standards will probably get involved if you can evidence a pattern of short diesel deliveries, and expect there’s possibly legal expenses cover with your insurers to cover contractual disputes of this type. Great to see the wheat coming on so nicely and very impressed to see Terry’s set up.
I wasn't expecting to enjoy this video (not really into welding) but it was as good as ever. Thank you. If it went into a separate tank, it would be interesting to sample the 'dodgy' delivery and check it's actual density, for interests sake.
Be interesting to see what is essentially a 12.3 cultipress, so many farmers are missing the old simba kit. Many implements are now worth more than they were bought for!!
I deliver fuels for an international fuel logistics company and some of our customers weigh us in and out of premises too. Delivery flow rate and metering equipment are a wise choice for peace of mind and auditing purposes. Some companies ask for a copy of the Bill of Lading obtained at the loading terminal by the consignee. I would suggest you request a copy of the BOL; in this way you will know what the exact quantities are loaded on the tanker. It removes ambiguity and provides transparency in the logistics chain. I would also suggest that when you order your fuel insist that the fuel is assigned to a compartment that will hold the total amount of fuel you order. In that way when your 5000 litres is delivered from a 5000 litre compartment, you are then able to check that it is empty by referencing the sight glass on that particular compartment. I’d be happy to help with further advice if you so wish.
Good video as always , a very interesting chap at TWB , that’s definitely worth getting to the bottom of your fuel issue, it’s not really something that you think about checking as in metering it in or weighing it in
James we had the same problem with our diesel a few years ago when it was being delivered and we started to collect it ourselves and over twelve mounts we saved 10% on our fuel
I've thought about the diesel delivery's myself with no weighbridge the inflow meter sounds like a must. I've always stood and marveled at the strength an build quality of Terry's machinery at lamma he really has a quality product. And a business that's started from nothing to his current line of machinery is one he'll of achievement a credit to him and his staff 👏🏼 A super video James and silent Tom 👍
Great video again veery nice to see those skilled engineer/fabricators clever guys and friendly guys with humour , sad to think this type of guy is dying out in my opinion, people who actually love their work. But nice to see other guy passing on his skills All the best ,
Great video again, just a suggestion when you are talking about something in particular like a a part on a machine or seed bed explaining something that Tom actually points the camera at it
Afternoon James, great to see what lurks around the back of an engineering workshop as always 👍..... personally I was struggling to hear some of the audio , Wardy was similar when he branched out into the film industry so could have some hints or tips on sound engineering. 😉It is good to see you drilled up.👍 As you said it gives time to reflect, go on a few jollies 😂 and plan ahead with a clear mind. 😎
Whereas installing a weigh bridge can be costly, it could prove an extremely valuable asset to protect outputs and seemingly inputs , very interesting discovery on the fuel .
I love these PX videos - it’s a little like The Archers meets the late, great Clive James.. 😊ABB (Asea Brown Boveri) are Swiss/Swedish - a massive company into robotics, electrical power transmission / generation hardware & software, plus process control systems.
James as always great video, good to see we have some great family run engineering businesses and that they are well supported. As for the GVT they are totally inept and if i have heard right they are now reviewing the IHT as it would miraculously appear that their stats were wholly wrong, I just hope it is true
Interesting video James. Regards the things MPs are saying is frightening, they obviously don't know the history of before WW2 when this country was importing a lot of food and suddenly we were wondering where food was coming from. They need reminding of this with the current situation in the world and how easily we could be on food rationing again.
Another brilliant video!! Really enjoying at the vids so please keep them coming. Can I ask, why did you stop growing potatoes and how many did you grow and for who etc. 😊
Great catch up video James and what a fantastic machinery shop and could it be the points on the drill worn more so they aren’t as deep possibly and that’s a bit naughty with the fuel 👍👍
I used to spend so much time looking at supply's, I got an average of £300-£500 per month refunds from banks & merchants (each!!) Dont trust them all... great video, superb work shop tour, thank you 😊
Hi James the press has several weak points where it folds and the draw bar the times are spread over 3 rows to flow better they also don’t lift out high enough for turning
James , I would recommend totally to change the wheel hubs and bolts , actually I would change the whole axle system as the whole lot stretches out of shape , and the tyres go pop too, my road trip was 15 miles behind a 500hp John Deere crawler I ran the same press from new , and from day one had wheel studs snap , hubs break even lost a wheel on a slip road on the a34 near Bicester Oxfordshire , our dealer did source stronger wheel bolts but I certainly was stressing when moved it from farm to farm. Also the strain on the centre beam when folding and unfolding is worrying. Ours was slightly heavier as we ran 3 rows of tines because 2 rows would block on stubble , good luck with it
Agree, the wheels tyres, stub axles and axle bearings take a massive load on that Rexius cultivator and if PX are making the machine wider consider upgrading them due to the significant amount of road work that they will do. The fold/unfold mechanism and running on roads or tracks with excess camber (when folded) puts extra stresses on them so the whole roadwheel system needs to be thoroughly checked regularly through the cultivation season. My brother tows a Rexius behind a smaller Challenger and two years in succession they have had tyre and wheel bearing failures, and his is nowhere near as big as the one that PX are proposing to extend. The machine works fine in the field but on the road you need to take care.
British farming meets British engineering and we rejoice! Bloody brilliant James.
Driving into Terry’s yard you’d never believe the engineering masterpieces that are being created there. Indestructible, quality bits of kit.
What an absolute legend Terry is. 100% gent.
What a gem. Thank you for the visit to Terry’s engineering company. Fascinating to see a home grown business like that and Terry’s incredible skills. I have Weavings around the corner from me and it’s great to see British engineering and skills like this. Long may they last.

Great to listen to a genuine genius who talks about things simply but doesn't talk down to u.alot of engineers should remember that
Great video James! People like Terry are the people you need when running machinery! You are right mate, I know this happens in the construction sector also. I’ve been fighting it for years. Insider job most of it.
What a man what an engineer, glad too see he with staff is bringing on new apprentices and staff for the future. Your machines are in safe hands with this workshop available.
They say that attention to detail is the hallmark of a successful company, this comes across very clearly.
Great to hear from Karl. Awesome that he is giving back by tutoring. Such a wealth of knowledge to pass on.
Hi James Nice one Thanks to Terry for the look round TWB's workshops Proper engineering Thanks again
Well done James, another cracking episode. Great to see the engineering side, must be good to have that expertise to draw on when needed, and supporting local industry is a bonus. A well done must go to Tom as well, cracking production of the video's.
What a fantastic enthralling video, you cannot beat talking to someone who knows what they are doing, well done boys.
Excellent Video and what a breath of fresh air seeing some real engineering going on with a clever passionate man! had the pleasure in one of your trucks this morning on the way to work in Much Hadham P7 PFX? Thank you very informative what a clever man Terry is.
Your fuel situation sounds like the Post office, “ You’re the only one”. Sure you’ll get to the bottom of it. Informative vid as usual.
Amazing stuff! Terry is a great character! Absolute wealth of knowledge it seems!
These Independent Engineering Companies are fantastic and invaluable to the Agricultural industry, I’d like to have a poke around TWB myself, I thought James was going to tell Terry how to do his Job at one point 😉👍

Great look round TWB. Looks like he knows how to make things right!
Great video, as always, James. Nice to see a local engineering firm doing well. Cheers. Good luck with this nightmare of a government!!!
Great video as always James. So good to see British engineering at its best and still thriving. 👍🏻
Terry reminds me of Guy Martin, "yeah, yeah, yeah, nah, yeah, nah", must be Lincolnshire thing 😂
He's a brilliant engineer
Another great video James, liked the TWB workshop tour a very knowledgeable man Terry is. Good to here the wheats are looking good , and you are getting on well with the spraying.
Superb James thanks for your time in bringing these to us. All the best.
Another great episode. Great to see some old school engineering. Definelty up there with the best videos on TH-cam 👏
Brilliant episode - loving these tour type videos like the one of the oat food factory. Keep them coming.
Every farmer got a Terry in sum form, especially with us farmers breaking and bending stuff😂😂. Great video💪💪
Another great video James, I do enjoy your tours of other farms and businesses. My concern also is that these craftsmen are dying out! Thank you.
Perhaps you could talk Terry in to a Mother Bin😂

another good one james, terrys a clever bloke. keep them coming

Gold dust
An absolute experience watching, learning and listening to you and your friends James 👍👍
Very interesting video James. Traditional British man in a shed engineering building great equipment.
Wow what a man Terry is great video cheers
As usuall, very informative, wouldnt think much would phase Terry by the looks of how laid back he is…hope you arrive at a good answer re the missing diesel,Thanks for your time and Toms great video skills…👍
👍❤️👍😡❤️👍👍Cheers James great watch as always. Many thanks regards❤👍👍👍
Another great video, James twb looks a very good outfit, keep them coming 😊88
That revelation in terms of fuel is absolutely shocking honestly. Surely the suppliers have to comply with the weights & measures act by way of calibrated equipment on the tanker?
Amazing look around terrys workshop

Love the channel, and you come across as a very friendly guy as I am so good to be nice and friendly

I have one of Terry's 8m Jesters.. excellent kit, that simply does the job as intended
What a fantastic episode
Interesting points regarding diesel deliveries…
You need to have a member of your staff watching the tanker driver while he is delivering. I bet he’s left to his own devices.
Be interesting to see what is essentially a 12.3 cultipress, so many farmers are missing the old simba kit. Many implements are now worth more than they were bought for!!
A great video James, I hope real progress will be made in London on the 19th of November.
Brilliant video James
Great video James very interesting Terry Engineering seems to good work simple basic what you need in farming
Well done James
Jesus James, you are punching there sir!!
Interesting what you said about the fuel shortage . I often wonder when getting aggregate and ready-mix concrete .
I deliver fuels for an international fuel logistics company and some of our customers weigh us in and out of premises too. Great to watch your video's, a great in soght into running a farm and what goes into the day to day running, 1005 behind british farmers ,
I've thought about the diesel delivery's myself with no weighbridge the inflow meter sounds like a must.

Two great guys in great touch
Brilliant video, have not heard of TWB over here but maybe there is some around Canada somewhere, looks like well built kit.
Great video again James 👍🏻👍🏻
Brilliant James even better than your double act with Michael engineering at its best
Great video James that’s a lot of fuel to go missing by the delivery company good job you weigh the tank in and out .The crops are looking well
Another very interesting show🤩🤩👍
Fantastic content as usual. Thank you
Great video again veery nice to see those skilled engineer/fabricators clever guys and friendly guys with humour , sad to think this type of guy is dying out in my opinion, people who actually love their work. But nice to see other guy passing on his skills All the best ,

Fantastic videos James
Great video, very interesting. 👌
Whereas installing a weigh bridge can be costly, it could prove an extremely valuable asset to protect outputs and seemingly inputs , very interesting discovery on the fuel .
I thought they already had one at the main site?
They have , that’s what I was alluding too 👍

Again a excellent video 👍
Brilliant 🤝 Another great video 👏🏻
Another brilliant video!! Really enjoying at the vids so please keep them coming. Can I ask, why did you stop growing potatoes and how many did you grow and for who etc. 😊
great video james
Great catch up video James and what a fantastic machinery shop and could it be the points on the drill worn more so they aren’t as deep possibly and that’s a bit naughty with the fuel 👍👍
Nice vid James
Nice setup doing the cultivation equipment
And missing fuel jeepers
World gone Mad 🙈🙈
Great informative video, get your own tanker and collect your own diesel.
Weigh everything entering and leaving. Youd be surprised at what results you find 🙈 let us know your findings please, James. Cheers. 👌
They've got TV in Lincolnshire now, brilliant.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
But is it colour TV.
Jesus christ that's a hell of a setup. Just a robot in the corner, 20 ton press out back
The press weighed 20ton
James , I would recommend totally to change the wheel hubs and bolts , actually I would change the whole axle system as the whole lot stretches out of shape , and the tyres go pop too, my road trip was 15 miles behind a 500hp John Deere crawler I ran the same press from new , and from day one had wheel studs snap , hubs break even lost a wheel on a slip road on the a34 near Bicester Oxfordshire , our dealer did source stronger wheel bolts but I certainly was stressing when moved it from farm to farm. Hehehe Fanny, I like to use grow bag, they get a bit confused at the term, but I know what it means 😂
