The way it sounds is due to it being a recording from the 70s. Not nearly as many ways to thicken and compress. Mutt Lange produced "Back in Black" with modern (at the time) equipment so the sound is radically different. You have to take in old AC/DC like you do classic movies.

"America - Sister Golden Hair (Live)" This band's style or genre is soft rock, R&B, soul music and one of the best harmony bands of this era.
