The BMW 320d has long been the pick for 3 Series company car buyers with its frugal 2.0-litre diesel engine, but the 330e could be about to change that.
The 330e uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine mated to an electric motor and 12kWh battery. Together they give it performance equivalent to a 3.0-litre petrol engine, and it's actually more responsive in certain situations. You can also get it with xDrive four-wheel drive but, most importantly, switch from a 320d to a 330e and your tax bills are halved.
But those are numbers and facts - what's the 330e actually like to drive? Tom Ford finds out.

Update on mine, I just filled it up, last time was 29th of August, today is 21st of November, cost was £37.78 for 34 litres/7.48 gallons (it's only a small tank anyway) and I did 1490 miles in that time, plugging in every night and commuting to work 5 days a week, but not doing much else due to lockdown etc. That's 199.2 mpg.

One year later and it’s still my favourite car so far. Full charge gives us around 20 miles (gauge always says 26 fully charged) which is enough for most commutes. Petrol tank is laughably small though, and just a bit jarring when you see that range drop so quickly. This is very much a car designed for shorter commutes where you can rely on the battery alone or either to boost performance and help make that tank last a bit longer.

Chunky steering wheel? That's because you got the m-sport which is much more expensive to buy, costs extra road tax for 5 years, and all you get is different shaped bumpers and some badges and that steering wheel, so don't fall for the marketing hype, keep five grand in your pocket and get the sport-pro. @@francoispermentier7353 And I chose the Volvo S60 T8 AWD 😎. My friend, Volvo's battery regeneration system is much more efficient than BMW's. It regenerates more and better because it has the "B" mode that turns the rear axle into a generator, something that BMW does not have. The combined range of the Volvo is much greater. I tested both cars and got the Volvo. And an AWD will always perform better dynamically than an RWD. Well, I respect your option. The important thing is to be satisfied with your choice. But I will continue with my Volvo and the beautiful 0-100km / h in 4.4.s

Its the same engine platform just with more or less cylinders. B38 = 3cyl (Mini Cooper, 218i etc), B48 = 4cyl (Mini Cooper S, 220i etc), and B58 = 6cyl (M240i, Supra). It the exact same engine just with more or less cylinders.

      The BMW 300e/PHEV (2019-present) has a 96.4% reliability rating dude!⭐️
Petrol and plug-in hybrid versions of the
latest 3 Series are much more dependable than
diesels; owners report only 13% going wrong,
with the most common fault areas being
      electrics, the engine and infotainment.
BMW paid for 96% of repairs and fixed two-thirds of cars in less than a week!⛽️🔧⚙️✔️

Plug-in cars are made for two things: dodging taxes and CO2 emissions. In reality are only for a very small percentage of people and worse in any way than the pure petrol or diesel because of the weight. But BMW will never build a full Hybrid because of the Autobahn

Damage is already done reason everyone hates tesla. Euros and american EV drivers all hate teslas and will never buy one. We would way rather have the Porsche EV that is quality and fast any day over a ugly tesla that looks like a wannabe mercedes fast but NO quality
