Thank you for giving me a vital clue on my own TV.. the backlight has just failed on mine, seems to be in a protection cycle as the backlight comes on briefly then goes off. At first I thought the supply rail to the boost converter was collapsing under load, as C204 and C214 are 100V rated, yet there was only 48V there. I was convinced that was the fault until I watched your video. I wonder why they used 100V caps when 63V wouldve been adequate. In my case it looks like some of the backlight LED's must have gone short circuit.. I see the LED+ voltage go up to over 120V, and then drop... so OVP is kicking in and shutting things down. Hopefully changing the faulty LED(s) is not too hair raising!!
Hey, great video. I have something similar, changed strips and the driver of the leds and still same thing, plug in the leds light up for a milisecond and goes off, but not off entirely, they are on low brightness possible, maybe ovp protection kicks in? I dont know what to test anymore, cant see any shorts. Have 123v on the leds connector, i think i need a lil more to get full brightness, 9leds *3v and 5strips gets 135v... Maybe not getting enough current? HELP...
@MrReeceyburger123 I have a bit of a complex one. I believe some led driver boards do not kick in if they sense faulty led's. I am apprehensive to dismantle as far as the LED's if the issue is in the driver. My LG 32LV2500-ZA driver seems to be outputting the same voltage as it's receiving. 24V However it is not like most drivers it outputs via 2x 10 pin ribbon cables with 2x Vcc out on both ribbon cables some pins are NC and others are marked N1 N2 etc I believe from memory. I can not locate any faulty fets or caps etc. but it could be the fet driver chip i guess. I also have a feeling it could just be some bad LED's. Not sure what to do next. I could either take it to bits and test leds separately, or just order a set of leds, or i could possibly try to locate the FET driver chips and look them, up then try to test for a waveform. A new driver board is €45 New LEDs €20 and i paid €40 for the broken TV hmmmm. If i was getting the 96V i would simply buy the LED's If they had simple connections like in most models i would give them 96V to see if the leds work but this one seems tricky. I guess i will look up the chips on the board and try to test them for waveforms, failing this i will open the set deeper and test the leds.
not sure if you're still active but i'm gonna ask anyway. My tv is an LG 47LN5404, everything works, except, no backlicht. i measured the voltages to the leds and it shows 80.2V on both pairs. The same voltage when i disconnect the Led cable. The board states 100V to the 47-row and 111V to the 50-row. So it's quite a bit lower. Unsure if it is the power supply or a bad led somewhere, or maybe even both.
Your video had three caveats: 1. You should have used a tripod; so that our eyes don't go crazy; as you moved around. 2. You should have shown us your "UN-soldering" the part; and then "RE-soldering" it again; after you removed and replaced the part. 3. "Adjusting the brightness" took WAY too much time; for MOST people have NOT a clue what it means; and they usually never use it. Thank Jesus and bless their hearts. Also: #2 was a crime! Sad indeed. For those who DO know what is going on; we NEED to see you do the repair; instead of just talking about it. Finis!~
Very nice video, very helpful. I just need some more certainty about it. Did the ground with LED - (cathode/negative) had 0 volts when you power on the TV? Thanks in advance, Mark
@@MrReeceyburger123 OK, so I replaced the same circuit on the power supply board as you did and tested the led stripes and the middle one was gone (tested with double 9v batteries and two small wires. Replaced the led stripe too and it wasn't showing image (just back light; all leds were working just fine). After I open it up again, found out that the image circuit board (green one under the metal plate) has two flat cables and they were introduced into the end and they are not supposed to otherwise, the clamps won't bite the connections. Hope I help someone with this. Best regards, Mark
hi.my thoshiba 47 inch LED.no video dark shadows problem.voice is OK. I have checked LED strip it is everything is connected to power binking and some time some work and not one by one check every thing is bright and proper .if I check led out put how voltage will come
this ic is tha same with a switch regulator ? i have a tv led with no backlight but i can hear sound. So , i measure led+ and led- pins and i saw that the voltage on led+ was 145 and for led- was 0.345mV. after that i plugged in backlights and i measured again. it was the same values . so the problem is on main board psu board ? what is your opinion ? the 24v line was ok !
Hi I have a lg42la620v TV and have a problem with the LEDs. I turn the TV on and the LEDs flash on then straight off. The picture is still on if you shine a torch at the TV screen you can see it, but no back lights. looking at the LEDs they all light up bar the top and bottom rows when you switch it on but then go off. any ideas. regards.
hi, i have same tvm same issue, but i ordered map3202, i mounted and i have still same problem.Im tested all components and are ok, but is a werid thing there, when i put probes at dc voltage, red on led positive and black on led negative, its gave me 0.6 fluctuating, but when i put the probe on ground i have +130v .What is that?

I have a phillips 32" led that turn on show logo and then blank screen.it has 12 led total ive tested both strip which contain 6 led on each separately and its working fine. when i test the led + voltage on startup it boost to 40v then drop and stay on 13v. what cloud be the problem?
I do have such issue, NO LED Light. Per specification on output should be 157,5V but there is 200-210V and it is fluctuating. LG 39ln575s. Can anyone guide me ?
nah ,just change it and my backligh is still faint , dim , change the LED strips , faint still , changed the Mosfet faint still , im running out of ideas , anyone any idea, faint backlight glow , should be 10x brighter but its not , probably low voltage but due to what , Chip changed , LEDs changed , mosfet changed , Capacitors checked , freaking thing wont light up as it should

Many hundreds of people with common sense found this video useful. Thanks for telling me stuff I already know though.

oooh a cracked tablet scren, i have major OCD i'd have to have that replaced straight away.
I put a 12volt led strip with it's own resistors on each one...with the led power output is 12volts....but LEDs stay on...on standby...y is dat...🤔
Don’t do that
