I have an armoire I've painted watch your technique I definitely need to use the glaze to help catch the creases and give it more character. Thank you. I love how yours turned out.🤗
You inspire me more than I can say. I have been toying with the idea of painting our kitchen cabinets but am a little overwhelmed at the concept. Your idea of a practice piece is giving me the kick in my keester that I need. I can buy a cabinet door at the Restore and practice removing the finish, chalk painting, picking colors etc. before I begin work on our cabinets. GENIUS!! That way I won't feel so nervous. Practice makes perfect, after all ;) Thanks so much for the inspiration.
I somehow missed this when it first came out. Glad to see it now, though. I hope to be doing some of this in the new year. Love how it turned out. Thanks for the instructions!
Thank you for all your tips on the distressing very helpful! I have a very old mantle that my husband painted white and I wanted it distressed because all of my things are rustic so I will be getting some of the darker glaze for sure for all the ornate details on it! It has the mirror with a top shelf over it to! Love the older pieces.♥️
That sounds beautiful, Marilyn! I have the same issue when I paint anything bright white. It just clashes with everything else in my house. I really like the Rustoleum glaze in Java Brown, but it can make white look dirty sometimes. You can water it down and add a little paint if you need to to tone the color. Best wishes! Xoxoxo
It’s almost like you read my mind .I havnt painted any furniture in ages & I will , like you said , play around with a old wood chair we have on patio . I need to make time for that because I find it therapeutic . I have paint laying around & like you said every things so expensive nowdays
I think the hard part is just getting set up and getting started. It is definitely therapeutic. I am also a project person and I love seeing before and after photos! Yes. Everything is crazy expensive. I'm going to upcycle my Christmas decor this year and try not to buy too much. Maybe a few new things, but I'm trying to mostly use what I have this year while still making it look different. Happy painting! 🧡
Thank you Donna! Lumber prices are up so much, as I'm sure you and James know! I am definitely keeping my eye out for scrap wood for projects when I can! I hope you two have a wonderful and blessed week! Xoxoxo
I love the way you paint, I could watch you paint all day! I love the distressed look, it takes furniture to another whole level. Thanks for sharing Deborah! xoxo

Thank you for the idea of painting on wood pieces before you actually attempt a project. This is exactly what I needed. I plan on painting my dinning room chairs but have been afraid to just jump right in. I'm heading to habitat for humanity or thrift store to see if they have a piece of furniture that is close to what my chairs look like so I can practice first. The Armoire is beautiful.
