I daily my 2017 370Z which gets religious 3,000 mile oil changes with full synthetic oil. It's shocking how many people will gamble with a $10,000+ engine to save a couple hundred dollars per year. The penny wise and dollar foolish types of people will all learn the hard way sooner or later.
I had a 2011 BMW 3 series (Canada) and they said 20000 KMs per oil change. I did 10000 KMs changes and the engine was fine. The problem ended up being the transmission, it kept slipping. Sold it.... Thanks!
I have an XC90 V8 I bought 6 months ago with 157k miles on it. I resealed the timing cover over the summer. It wasn’t as clean in there as my other cars but WAY better than this BMW engine. I will put that engine on a 5k OCI regimen with full synthetic. I love that V8!
Avoid this Problem by Using the Manufacturer Approved Oil, Not some Conventional Sludge that hasn't been sold in Europe in 30 years fixed that for you 👍
I used to go 2000 miles with conventional oil back in the day. Now I go 5000 miles with synthetics or blends it seems wrong, but I go with it. What do you think about using a Rislone Engine Treatment or other types to clean that mess out of there?
I usually just recommend crunching the oil change intervals really close together around every 3k for a while and that slowly breaks down the deposits, if you go with anything too harsh it can plug up the sump on something like this, on cars where pulling the oil pan is pretty easy doing a treatment like that and pulling the pan isn’t a bad idea
those intervals are fine if you use the recommended oil aswel ;) not some cheap knockoff oil that is 50 bucks cheaper that is when you fuck shit up xD and with that amount of build up we can assure you for 40000% that is not from a 20k interval oil chance more like 50 60k xD

Ask yourself this....
Does the manufacturer want your car to last a lifetime so you'll never be back for another one? 🧐

The oik is less important than tha change interval.

I do my drivers every 3-4K, race cars are every 6 months regardless of miles.
Yeah that’s about how I treat my track car too
What do you think about filling the engine hot with diesel or diesel/ATF?
I’ve done that one some old 1.8t VW and Audis in the past but I don’t think I would attempt it if I couldn’t access the sump pretty easily
