Good morning Paul. Gorgeous flowers and a great shave as usual. SOTD. Vintage Ever Ready single edge razor. Palmolive shaving cream. Vintage Erskine boar brush. DWR CYMRU rinse. Nivea 2 Phase aftershave balm. MOTD. Roast lamb. New potatoes and peas and cabbage from the garden. And lashentos of gravy from the kitchen. Washed down with Abbot Ale. Hope you and Mrs. H. enjoy the rest of your weekend. Look after yourselves. Stay safe.
*Shaver of the day* Today is my birthday, and the family gave me gifts yesterday. My wife bought me a Viking Emperor Augustus Adjustable. My first shave was with a new Feather (the only blade I use) setting 7 with the grain, 4 across, and 1 against. My daughter got me some Viking Sandalwood Aftershave Balm, which is excellent. I followed this up later with Stetson Original cologne when the wife and I went out for dinner. I had some Burberry years ago, and that s stuff is the bomb-digity. *Fathers home place* My older brother took me part where my Dad grew up, and where they lived before the interstate came through; just before I was born. Looking forward to seeing the other video.
SOTD for Tues. Aug 4 Rockwell 6S -plate #5 Astra Platinum Blade - 1st use TOBS Unscented Shaving Creme for sensitive skin Fine Synthetic Brush Fine Aftershave - Platinum Cheers Paul from Canada
1:20 AM here in Texas... I took a long nap this afternoon, so I still haven’t gone to bed yet. I did have a nice evening shave. Yaqi 26m brush, King C Gillette razor, brand new Personna med prep, Stirling Peach Soap and A/S, Nivea balm
2:43AM here in Delaware on the east coast USA. I'm definitely a night owl! Shave of the night was started with the PAA Cube. Lathered PAA CK6 Gondolier soap over it, shaved it all off with the Rockwell 6C. Also used Humphrey's for the post, but Lilac scent. Have a good one!
Excellent shave Paul De89 is a classic with good reason. SOTD will be Wilkinson Sword Flip top, TOBS Lemon and Lime cream, feather blade, Old spice Aftershave and Nivea Post shave Balm. MrsH provided beautiful flowers again enjoy your day!
Beautiful flowers, Mrs. H. I slept great last night, better than usual. I hope you did as well. I had a great shave last night before supper with my trusty old Gillette black beauty and a Gillette Rubie, 4th use. I don't usually get a good shave after 3 with most blades, but that was good. Have a great rest of your weekend.
Hi Paul...Can't go wrong with the EJ 89 and some Proraso. Enjoyed the video about your Dad. It's always nice to take a walk back in time. Have a great week.
SOTD for tomorrow will be: Rex Ambassador. Gillette 7 O'clock Green (first use). RazoRock Big Bruce. Wickham Palma Violet soap. Post shave will be Wickham Palma Violet post shave balm.
Happy Sunday Paul! Great flowers with tremendous colors, thank you Mrs. H! That bag of Proraso cream is calling my name, I am so envious. Synthetic brushes work at treat for me, as they work on any soap type without fuss. SOTD: 1962 (H-1) Gillette Slim Adjustable (my birth razor) loaded with a 1970 made in England Gillette Platinum blade (6th use). Modern Williams Mug soap lathered with a That Darn Rob 26 mm BOSS synthetic. The modern Williams did lather very good and no dissipation on the face; stable and slick lather. Traditional 3 pass shave (settings 6, 6, and 5 on the Slim) plus pick-ups. Finished with Thayer's AF SF skin toner and PAA John Frum aftershave. I was rewarded with a BBS that lasted almost 40 hours...wow! I am not sure how that is possible, yet it happened. The Feather blade worked well in the EJ DE89...one needs to expect a blood letting whenever one uses a Feather blade. Thanks for sharing Paul! Take care. A note about YT adverts: I am not sure why, but today I saw an ad every few minutes. This could be just me, limited to my experience, yet YT watching your shave less enjoyable...pity.
My shave of the day: Dove men care face wash, Proraso green preshave, Arko soap, King C Gillette razor, Voskhod blade, Razorock Bruce brush, Omega travel alum, Dickinson's witch hazel, Pinaud bayrum aftershave. It was awesome! Thanks for the video, Paul.
Great video as usual Paul. Tonight's SOTD: 1941 Gillette Ranger Tech, a 2nd use Gillette Blue blade (Z-1) no idea the year, Stirling Executive Man, Semogue 830 brush, Witch Hazel with tea tree oil, Executive Man A/S and cold Missouri water. First pass was kinda tuggy but the other 2 wasn't bad. BBS with no blood. Guess I'll have to try harder next time.
My stuff for today -Rocwell 6c,Treet Platinum,Yaqi,Yaqi 24mm Green Synthetic,Proraso white,Eveline x-treme gell,Proraso Professional Mug. That's really nice when you speak about your family.Great shave and flowers as usual. Pozdrawiam i Dziękuję.
First pass looked good! Your camera gives excellent focus. Your razor and blade combination worked well for you. From how it appears, your first pass did the whole shave job.
Great shave as usual 💈 Someone was obviously showing their approval with all those little noises 👍 Love proraso products. Lovely display again Mrs H 💐 I enjoy a salad too 🥗 We had Burger & chips for a change. Lashento's on hold with the warm weather! Have a great start to the week both 💈💐💈
Hi Paul- Great Sunday shave; thank you! Great products, all-around! Lovely flowers from Mrs H; thank you, as always! I’ll list my SOTD at the end of the comments. Too early to know about dinner yet, but something cool is definitely in order. I hope you have a great start to the week. Take good care and be safe and be well. See you on Wednesday for the mid-week shave. Best regards, as always, Paul! 💈SOTD- Stirling Pre-Shave Oil (Unscented) Noble Otter Bare (Unscented) Yaqi 24mm Synthetic Brush Timeless SS Razor, SB .68 Base Gillette Nacet Blade (1st) Humphrey’s Astringent Witch Hazel Barbedeaux Aftershave Zingari Man AS Balm (Unscented)
Great shave Paul. I actually used my original razor. A Vander Hagen. With a Derby blade in it. And TOBS sandalwood. There really are differences in razors. A person don't understand that until they try different ones. You and Mrs. H stay safe and healthy
This video rekindled my desire to procure the de89. Its 2:44 Am now. And since I haven't slept yet the food of the day was fried chicken. And yesterday was my shave day but I was not in the mood so I may shave today. I really like the lathers that you make. I understand now why you and Mr. Kevy generally put on a balm in the end after applying the astringents.
Cheers Paul , Edwin jagger are fantastic, 3-1-6 and D E 89 are brilliant , I have thanks to you D E 89 all chrome it is such a nice razor, very good quality for its price you would love it and thank you👍🏻🪒💈🏴🏴
Proraso and Edwin Jagger, two of the most venerable names in wet shaving. This shave could serve as a tutorial of products and technique. Lovely shave, Paul. SOTD - GSC Tribute R41+, G/W Sword India blade (new), Bath & Bodyworks shave cream (Proraso), homemade AS, Nivea Sensitive balm.
My mid-week shave tomorrow (Thursday in Australia) will be: Feather Popular Astra green blade (2-nd shave) TOBS Eton College cream Simpson X3 Commodore pure badger brush Acqua di Parma Colonia Collezione Barbiere after shave balm Acqua di Parma Colonia Assoluta EdT
Hi Paul, thanks for your Sunday morning shave. My first proper razor was the Edwin Jagger DE89. I chose the model with the smooth chrome handle and never regretted it. You might expect it to feel slippery but the grip is fine. There is no S.O.T.D. from me. I did it all yesterday (head shave and face shave). Sunday lunch will be late as I'm waiting for my better half to come home from work. Probably going to have roast chicken breasts, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, carrots and some Yorkshire puds. Gravy as well, of course.
Hi Paul. Today I`m gonna use the Popular Feather razor along with some Gillette Foamy. Recently it occurred to me that Gillettes whole philosophy back in the 50`s and 60`s was a very mild razor using foam which wouldn`t clog in the mild razors and would rinse very easily. And I think they were right. Still use soaps and creams on my more aggressive razors. Thanks for the video. Cheers.😀
SOTD - Giesen & Forsthoff Timor razor, which I bought on a whim because I liked the look of the handle. Turned out to be an excellent shaver, just ever so slightly more aggressive than the DE89 but very smooth. Gives a great, close irritation free shave. Stirling Soap Co. Black Pepper & Lime with matching AS and a Razorock plissoft Bruce handle brush. I'll have try a Feather in this razor after watching your success with one in the EJ. Great show Paul, many thanks.
I ALMOST used my Moka express today but passed over it for the Yaqi Arctic. Proraso green today, lathered in the copper Captain’s choice bowl, Viking’s Blade Meiji adjustable loaded with Personna Lab Blue. Followed by Osage rub. Same setup for my head shave yesterday! P.S. you mustn’t change the script. Don’t know what I’d do without my pickup time, baby!
Nice flowers Mrs H as usual. Paul I love the Edwin Jagger DE89 after watching one of your videos quite awhile ago I got myself one and it is my daily shaver to be honest. I need to try that Proraso I have tried em all but that one. :)
Great shave Paul💈💈 I have the smooth chrome DE89, looks posh and isn't slippery strangely enough😊 I suppose with soapy hands it would be though🤔 Those barber bags of Proraso are getting harder to find, discontinued? Beautiful roses displayed today, thanks Mrs H👌 SOTD: PAA Cube, PAA "Solstice" soap/splash/EDP, Honey Farms custom badger brush, (new razor) Razorock BBS SS w/Personna Red blade, alum, Thayers witch hazel, Aqua Velva 5 in 1 balm...Fantastic👍 Have a fine finish to your weekend, stay safe. Enjoy!
SOTD was TOBS Sandalwood soap and AS with my AP Shave Co gold flake handle gel tip brush and my Merkur 37c Slant with a Feather blade. Funny thing I picked up my Edwin Jagger DE89 and Mocha yaqi this morning then changed my mind! Lol we were thinking alike I guess!
Hi Paul, hope you are all well. Nice shave. The difference in the packaging for the Feather blades is, the black (like you have) are for the 5 blade pack, whereas the yellow are the 10 blade pack, both are the exact same blades.
I find one positive about the heat is that your face becomes naturally slicker. Not pleasant to think about but maybe that's why sharper blades tend to work well.
Great video as ever Paul SOTD-Parker 26C open comb PAA Peregrino brush Gillette Platinum blade Nordic Shave Company Pine and Menthol soap Mara aftershave balm
Nice vid. We used the same blades. Baili golden TTE razor , Feather, TOBS Sandalwood in a stick (good lather), Sagrada Familia. Proraso green AS then Aquavelva 5 balm
It's good to use a Feather on a mild razor like the DE 89. The first use of a feather is pretty harsh. But on a mild de razor, gives you a great shave.
Hallo Paul und viele Grüße aus Bad Oldesloe in Schleswig-Holstein, Deutschland. Mein Rasierer heute: King C. Gillette mit King C. Hi Paul... Love wood and spice the smell is great! I know you like the personna red blade but their only available in the states and the shipping cost is expensive.... Is there much difference between the personna blue platinum or not?
I am not a smoker. I have never been a smoker. Marlboro, back in the day, used to give away trinket type gifts so I pretended to be a smoker to receive the trinkets. And I know right about now you're wondering what in the world does not that have to do with this video????? Simple: you gave a detailed menu of your salad preparation and that made me think of one of the Marlboro gifts. It is a intricate fold out recipe book of a Western Super Burger and your description made me think of the type of salad I'd prepare to accompany that burger. I'd have lettuce, tomato, cumber, onion and croutons . The only seasoning would be salt and pepper...Right now, I have a short respite from my caretaking duties of my mother and I think I just might prepare that entire Marlboro thingie for myself, if I don't wash away in the Hurricane that is due to hit in a few hours. I am on the East Coast in one of the States in the strike zone of Isaias.....Hopefully, I'll see you on the other side with a report of how delicious the burger was.... ;-)
Hi Paul nice shave ! i love Edwin jagger de89 very smooth ... you need to try Trueffit & hill Apsley if u can wow what a great and luxurious scent ... have a nice day all the best and stay safe 💈💈
My SOTD: Gillette Pute cream (great stuff & inexpensive), Weishi longhandle with new Astra green blade & Stirling aftershave balm. Looked at Proraso Wood & Spice when it 1st appeared, but the large bag put me off.
A salad?! I was expecting "Lashento's" of French Dressing or for us less posh folk, Salad Cream. Cracking combo of not too expensive products producing a terrific shave. Keep up the good work Paul and cheers🍻
Over the years having different razors and tried many blades. i think mostly the razor is what makes a blade aggressive or not. More how tight/snugly the razor holds the blade. If a blade is too chatty ai find it more aggressive. But for instance the rockwell 6c to name one, can have any blade without being aggressive for me. I have more unreliable issues with the parker variant, specially above setting 3 where the blade seems to get more play and gets less comfortable.
Great shave Paul! You mentioned that a blade can tug if it is too sharp. Not sure I understand why... I thought a blade would tug if it were blunt... Shave of the day was Pall Mall (Phoenix and Beau), Rockwell 6C, Treet platinum and a synthetic brush from Hawkins and Brimble :)
Good shave. I’ve been wanting to pull the trigger on an Edwin jagger de89, but there are sooooo many good clones of that razor and such a universal head, that I haven’t. But it’s an iconic razor that any collection is really incomplete without the authentic de89... Buy me one for christmas! Hahaha! Great shave!
Speaking of the barbershop I just went to the Barber Shop yesterday and got a haircut. I normally cut my own hair but I figured I would treat myself this time. I got a high & Tight skin fade with a hard part with a comb over and spiked in the front.. Lookin’ Sharp my friend if I do say so myself 🥰 but its been so long I didn’t know if the prices went up or not... ( I’ve been cutting my own hair for over 5 years lol so it’s been awhile since I was in the chair last) so I figured last time I remember haircuts were about $17. So I bring $25... after I get my haircut The guy says that will be $25.... I ’m like....”with or without the tip” he said “without “. And I said “hold up I’ll get you your tip, it’s been a while since I got a haircut I forgot how much they were”. So I ran back in my car and give him another $10... I know very nice of me right?! 😁✌🏻. Maby it was due to COVID-19, or I was thinking since I booked an appointment they charge $10 extra or so to book it... what do you think? I also wore my Gillette Adjustable T-Shirt lol . I told him that’s a feather Shavette right? (he was about to do some touch up work with it). He said “how did you know” I pointed to my shirt and said. - *“Bro... I’m a Traditional WetShaver”* 💈💪🏻😁💈 ~Mike 🌹 ~
Astonishing entrance by Mrs H flowers and shy entrance by Alys 9:13. Very nice shave Paul. I'm tempted to purchase the Proraso wood & spice but it's a big package... 275 ml is it?? Have a great week ahead!
Hi Paul! Thanks for your many inspiring shaving videos during the years! One suggestion, is that you did a comparison shave between Edwin Jagger DE89 Razor versus Edwin Jagger 3ONE6 Razor. Be well and God bless you, sir!
Haha I have never thought of that new acronym of BBS, but yeah sometimes when you chase the BBS you so end up with a bloodbath!! 😂 You got so distracted you asked about SOTD twice!! You’re a pleasure to watch Paul!
10 pounds for a haircut.... Damn that's cheap.... I pay 60 pounds for a haircut My shave of the day is, merkur 34c, Wilkinson sword blade, Taylor of old bond Street grapefruit shaving cream, Wilkinson brush, 4711 after shave and some witch Hazel for moisture I used lumin face cream... Thank you for introducing me to this way of shaving Paul. Have a nice day
Oscar, buy a pair of clippers. After three shaves you’ll be pleased with the results. There are a lot of TH-cam videos out to help. Just remember when doing the top it’s backroads front. The back of the neck is tricky but you can do it
weekend was alright wow that hot 22C yesterday today more clouds less heat great video, shave great fun stuff..stay safe my friend...i only know SOTD Faether DE razor , blade MUHLE soap: TCHEON FUNG SING CREAM CITROS ORANGE, LIME after shave and balm idk have to look in my wall of stuff lol....cheers...Peter
Hello paul. Was out and about yesterday so a day late. Always enjoy the chanel. By the way i wonder why gillette uk dont deliver to ireland. I was trying to order the king c gillette. Strange ??. Have a good day keep safe
My red shaving bowl is a Rolls Razor “The Whetter” made from Bakelite I think, it’s the bowl that their soap came in. I have grated Palmolive in mine I have been cutting my own hair with the same Wahl clippers for more than thirty years, must have saved a fortune.
Great shave. Now that I tried the Voskhods and got an excellent shave from that, let's move on to the Gillette Wilkinson Swords in my next SOTD. Weather has been cooling down in my area, which is a nice break from the summer heat we've experienced
My Sunday entertainment! ^ ^ Always thanks! Proraso new professional barber's cream series seem to be good stuff but a bit large amount in vinyl pack which is a bit hard to keep along with other many soaps.
I have considered getting the brush you use here, and some form of the razor. Both seem nice. You know I like the shaving cream, but I haven't used it often. Hope the week is good for you and the missus, and the cat! 🐈
Is that an Old Spice shaving mug I see on the shelf behind you Paul? Can you still get the refills for those now? I've looked everywhere. That Humphreys witch hazel looks good stuff. Have a great weekend mate 👍
interesting that barber's use proraso like that . here in Ontario barber's can not do shaving anymore . i have a friend in Oshawa Ontario that owns his own barber shop and he told me that a few years ago they made it illegal for them to do so . great shave today Paul !!
Always checking out your sunday shave first thing 😄 and always surprised that u dont get irritated even thought u do about 10 passes.. I use the wood & spice moustache wax, lovely smell!
Hi Paul hope your well Iv been looking though your videos and noticed in one of them you were using chiseled face cryogen can you please tell me if you got this in the UK if so where abouts please.iv got some cold fusion from wet the face and have Stirling glacial lemon it would be good to see if the cryogen is more mentholated than those cheers craig
Hi Craig, I can't actually remember if this was sent to me by a viewer of the channel or I got it in a bulk order from the USA. It is one of those though.. Thanks.
I’ve said it several times and I will say it again. Watching PaulH is like having an old mate round for tea. Always a good thing! Thanks, Paul 😊

Nice vid. We used the same blades. Baili golden TTE razor , Feather, TOBS Sandalwood in a stick (good lather), Sagrada Familia. Proraso green AS then Aquavelva 5 balm
SOTD: Tatara Masamune open comb, GSB (5), PAA Ice Cube 2.0 prehave, Phoenix & Beau Trafalgar soap and post shave lotion
It's good to use a Feather on a mild razor like the DE 89. The first use of a feather is pretty harsh. But on a mild de razor, gives you a great shave.
Excellent shave and outstanding content! Thank you!
I shave with the same razor + blade combo and an Omega superfine badger knot. Great shave!
Hallo Paul und viele Grüße aus Bad Oldesloe in Schleswig-Holstein, Deutschland. Mein Rasierer heute: King C. Gillette mit King C. Gillette DE Klinge, hjm XL Borstenpinsel, Mühle Rasierschale, Nivea Rasiercreme, Wilkinson Aftershave Classic.
Paul, ein schöner Pinsel und die Blumen, wie immer ein Traum. Best wishes from north-germany and stay safe.
A BLOODBATH FREE SMOOTH SHAVE!!!
Anyway......
Ello Paul
Ello Mr towel
And ello Alum!! Wherever you are
Great shave Paul!
Those YAQI's are just awesome. Got two of them and my boar brushes just gather dust.
Nice Sunday shave, Paul 🖐️ 🙂👍💈 thank you!
- *“Bro... I’m a Traditional WetShaver”*
💈💪🏻😁💈

Astonishing entrance by Mrs H flowers and shy entrance by Alys 9:13.
Very nice shave Paul. I'm tempted to purchase the Proraso wood & spice but it's a big package... 275 ml is it??
Have a great week ahead!
Hi Paul! Thanks for your many inspiring shaving videos during the years! One suggestion, is that you did a comparison shave between Edwin Jagger DE89 Razor versus Edwin Jagger 3ONE6 Razor. Be well and God bless you, sir!
Cheers Paul!
That brush handle is a shape copy of a Bialetti Mokka Pot👌
Really cool.
Stay safe Paul
today shave: Nivea shave cream, wilkinson classic razor, old spice wolfthorn, nivea balm. have a relaxed week !!!
My Edwin Jagger is also the L version and i have to say its got the best handle out of all the razor i have . close second is my gillette adjustable.
Very nice shave sir. Great way to enjoy a meal. 🍺
Haha I have never thought of that new acronym of BBS, but yeah sometimes when you chase the BBS you so end up with a bloodbath!! 😂
You got so distracted you asked about SOTD twice!!
You’re a pleasure to watch Paul!
Hahah, with all respect, I was so distracted at the end by the various weepers!!! 😂
10 pounds for a haircut.... Damn that's cheap.... I pay 60 pounds for a haircut
My shave of the day is, merkur 34c, Wilkinson sword blade, Taylor of old bond Street grapefruit shaving cream, Wilkinson brush, 4711 after shave and some witch Hazel for moisture I used lumin face cream...
Not feeling well lately
I did shave with a Derby and a Baili TTO was surprised
Nice shave Paul!
My red shaving bowl is a Rolls Razor “The Whetter” made from Bakelite I think, it’s the bowl that their soap came in. I have grated Palmolive in mine
I have been cutting my own hair with the same Wahl clippers for more than thirty years, must have saved a fortune.
Greetings from the U.S. Stay well.
BBS baby that’s funny ‘Blood bath shave’ best wishes 👍🏻🍺
Nice shave Paul H👌
Great shave. Now that I tried the Voskhods and got an excellent shave from that, let's move on to the Gillette Wilkinson Swords in my next SOTD. Weather has been cooling down in my area, which is a nice break from the summer heat we've experienced
Enjoyed your shave Paul it’s 5.30 in the United States that’s A.M god bless
Great shave video today Paul , lovely flowers please thank Mrs H .🙏
No shave for me today.
Your dinner looks Light with Salad
Enjoy 😊
Many thanks 🤩🤩🤩
My Sunday entertainment! ^ ^ Always thanks! Proraso new professional barber's cream series seem to be good stuff but a bit large amount in vinyl pack which is a bit hard to keep along with other many soaps.
Great video Paul. This was my first razor as well. Treated myself to some Pinaud Clubman this week... lovely!
I have considered getting the brush you use here, and some form of the razor. Both seem nice. You know I like the shaving cream, but I haven't used it often. Hope the week is good for you and the missus, and the cat! 🐈
33.3c/92f here in Florida🐊.. Have you broken down your viewers locations ?.. A lot from the states (?).. 🍺
Is that an Old Spice shaving mug I see on the shelf behind you Paul? Can you still get the refills for those now? I've looked everywhere. That Humphreys witch hazel looks good stuff. Have a great weekend mate 👍
Old Spice isn't making soap pucks anymore but you can pick them up on eBay sometimes but they cost between $30 to $40.
interesting that barber's use proraso like that . here in Ontario barber's can not do shaving anymore . i have a friend in Oshawa Ontario that owns his own barber shop and he told me that a few years ago they made it illegal for them to do so . great shave today Paul !!
Nice video. It is my weekend off so no shave.. I am going fishing. You know your video is full of ads now. Have a great week.

Thanks.
Re: price increase for haircuts. It might be a coincidence but, like Dick Turpin, barbers are now wearing masks before they take your money!
