Notice how Hyundai has been taking away features with its newer versions? "Elite" i20 took away rear disc-brakes, sunroof, and LED DRLs from the i-gen i20; while this new Verna is taking away rear disc-brakes.
This might sound like blasphemy , but technically drum brakes are better at stopping than disc brakes by a long shot , the only departments where disc brakes outshine drums is cooling and aesthetics . Disc brakes can loose more heat than drums , quicker which is why they are at the front where you want less brake fade. Look it up :)
Samrat Roy Doesn't your own statement of inherent brake fade of drum brakes contradict your statement that drum brakes have a better stopping power? If drum brakes were truly better, why aren't they used in higher end cars or in any motor sport including motorcycles? Disc brakes are definitely superior and this is just a cost cutting measure.
btarunr. When a car is newly introduced it attracts a lot of buyers. This new model with the deficiencies of the previous versions still will be sold like hot cakes. After this initial boom is over the sales will reduce. Then they will introduce features like DRL, sunroof, Disc brakes etc so as to boost the sales in the second innings with the same model. If everything is introduced in the first go, then there is no scope of improvement after one year and they have to change the model itself which will a big financial load for the manufacturer.

What a let down, i have patiently been waiting for the facelifted verna after already booking the 1.6 S.X.O pre facelifted variant and keeping it on a hold. No DRL's as i saw in spy shots or the solaris, no disc's at the back the present version has dics on all four wheels and the real deal was supposed to be the new 7inch touch screen but thats missing too . A real disappointment ! Will buy the pre face lifted S.X.O 1.6 as planned. But good review guys :-)

With price increased by Rs 40..80 K compared to the earlier model.....I think Hyundai have got it wrong this time. People with go with Honda City than this model.Hyundai do except to sell less quantities. Thumbs Down.
Damn this Verna Fluidic it doesn't play well with the other cars on highways in terms of overtaking and weight bearing, you can feel a bit of a sway on the car when you reach at the speed of 120-140 km/h it just tries to get on the divider or off the road on highway, plus the brakes are annoying as hell they are not quick in response they should have given discs at rear , the projectors of this car are worse they don't throw the light too far they should have provided an extra reflector for high beam like the next gen verna 2018 , I wish I could punch in the face of the Hyundai for giving such shitty features to such a sporty looking car.
Uuff....Shameful Release by Hyundai, was waiting for a long time..its very disappointing ..Going to cancel my Booking. Hope Creative Mind left Hyundai. Hyundai Verna Loose faith in Looks and Interiors, Now only Honda City is the last option in this segment.
