Really liked Rishi's last line - "have faith in Bhagavan." Reminds me of what Lord Krishna says in the Gita chapter 10 "I give the intelligence to my devotee."
This is what has been achieved: "Panini's grammar, known as the Astadhyayi, relied on a system that functioned like an algorithm to turn the base and suffix of a word into grammatically correct words and sentences. However, two or more of Panini's rules often apply simultaneously, resulting in conflicts. Panini taught a "metarule", which is traditionally interpreted by scholars as meaning "in the event of a conflict between two rules of equal strength, the rule that comes later in the grammar's serial order wins". However, this often led to grammatically incorrect results. Mr Rajpopat rejected the traditional interpretation of the metarule. Instead, he argued that Panini meant that between rules applicable to the left and right sides of a word respectively, Panini wanted us to choose the rule applicable to the right side." - Source: Reddit So, in effect its not a discovery but rather correction of older misinterpretations of Panini's rule. The problem does not appears that complicated too. Incorrect results should lead to a bit of trial and error and then you can easily figure out what the correct meaning of the rule is. I come from the background of academics myself so I know how it functions. The point is its always a new finding if its not published ;) Comments will not get reply. Truth spoken.
Correction of misinterpreted things is, if not more, at least as important as a new discovery for it consolidates the wealth of existing knowledge. Kudos to his lateral thinking abilty!
And what is the inspiration of correction? to make it suitable for computer who only understands right hand side and left hand side. He interpreted "param" which means "later" as "right side" for the sake of convenience of a computer. This guy did not even studied Sanskrit from the beginning. He is a graduate from economics and now he is claiming all the grammar experts from centuries were wrong. His professor under whose supervision he completed his thesis did not bother to make any appearance.

Congratulations Rishi 👏🏻👏🏻. Looks like abroad they are more into Sanskrit than in India. We have to learn to be proud of our ancient knowledge, high time.
The interviewer knows very little about the subject ...she seems very perplexed while grasping the answer of intervive thats hilarious Well kudos 2 her for interviewing him
I saw Aditi Prasad asking someone in the beginning “can you fix it” with no “please “ or something. She is speaking in colonial master’s language without the basic.
India making progress in space, sanskrit. Appreciate your sheer dedication and true patriotism. The government must take care of such people who are the true parrots of India
Ms Aditi- it is not Panini(पनिनी)- it is Pāṇini (पाणिनि) Panini is a bread🤦🏾♀️- Pāṇini is a grammarian for God’s sake- when you are talking a subject on linguistics- kindly take some effort to show preparedness💁🏽♀️
Viewers can't understand better because anchor is confused and not aware about linguistics and language application, so she messed with his answers without any questions 🤣🤣😂😂
Question is, Is the student ready to defend his discovery / thesis, in front of Indian Sanskrit scholars. They challenged him, can he defend it, or is he satisfied with his degreee.
Has his thesis been debated with other Sanskrit scholars in India? To think that Sanskrit scholars from centuries had blindly accepted an mis-interpretation does not seem right. Indian scholars had a tradition of challenging every thesis openly in debates. To think that they didn’t discuss this when Sanskrit used to be a widely spoken language and today someone sitting in Cambridge says something that people like us can’t verify- is at best a self-proclaimed genius until Indian Sanskrit Vidyalayas accept it. As far as Cambridge is concerned, I don’t have much faith in British institutions, they always wanted Indians to doubt our legacy. This fits their agenda perfectly. I am not saying if he’s right or wrong as I can’t speak Sanskrit- but we should let Indian Sanskrit scholars accept it first as they speak Sanskrit.
Another young Indian genius! Great achievement! Hope you feel deeply patriotic to share this knowledge with India and in India. Remember, our country can only equal and surpass its peers if we behave selflessly!
The tragedy is he solved it from Cambridge not from, say,School of Sanskrit studies, JNU New Delhi. Westerners invest heavily on our marvels. When will we step up! Congrats to Rishi. पाणीणी would be proud of you!
So in summary, the problem is about portmanteau words and the concomitant diphthongs. The further question is, if there are two combinatorics of equal dominance how do we fix the sound syllable? This is supposedly solved by using the meta rule. This is being done for computer NLP. But the larger question remains; due to prefixes and suffixes will the meaning of the word change because of the new method? A quintessential example would be, "su-prasaddhia" which means famous (for good reasons) "ku-prasiddha"which means a person of ill repute (famous for wrong reasons). Would such meanings change? Secondly, why are they interested in sanskrit NLP? this is for individuals the rendition of "shlokas" and mantras is for individuals it causes physiological changes and psychological as well how is computer going to influence individuals?
CONGRATS TO YOU SITTING FOR THE CORRECTION, & HOPE IT OPENS UP NEW AVENUES, & MAKING IT EASIER TO UNDERSTAND. IT'S SAID THAT " A " SANSKRIT WORD HAS MANY MEANINGS, & IF USED IN A SENTENCE THE READER MUST BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND THE CORRECT CONTEXT IT WAS USED FOR TO UNDERSTAND IT'S MEANING. " PATTA " MEANS " A LEAF ", " AN ADDRESS ". THERE ARE LOT OF ERRORS, MISTAKES COMMITTED WHEN TRYING TO DECODE ANCIENT WISDOM, WHICH LEADS TO CONCUSSION & ERRORS.
It is surprising that Rishi cracked the puzzle of Paanini in Cambridge university. The very basis origin of puzzle is Bharat and Sanskrit. Why our universities are not able to crack this.
I think the biggest talking point for all of us should be the fact that such a complex problem existed 2500 years ago and is still interpretable and solvable today. Hopefully this news would kindle the interest of current generation to take up संस्क्रुतम् seriously.
This may be a great breakthrough by Rishi decoding Panini's grammar and rules leading to machine learning and Algorithms in Sanskrit... substantiating Sanskrit's applicability in all IT and AI developments of the future... KUDOS!

Instead of people who do not know Sanskrit at all I mean the journalists themselves, why do not they call some Sanskrit professor to interview him. It would be much better.
Byakaran scholars are not accepting his work as a new research work on Panini Byakaran. There are lot of challenges for him to defend his thesis. There is possibility that his thesis will be debunked.
Here in the state level newspapers we read the allegation on rishi regarding this.. Because that software has already been developed by the religious institute named sri Taralabalu jagadguru Bruhan matt, Anubhava mantapa.
Too much advertisement. Please advertise even cons of his paper not only pros and some extra build ups. People please don't believe in media's advertisement on this topic it's isn't worth to give soo much hype. PC : All who have read his thesis can easily say it. 2500 years ago isn't that long in Indian or human history . Civilisations peaked , fell and peaked again numerous times before 10s of thousand years .
Congratulations, Rishi sir. There are many more mystery in our civilization, hope someday those mystery will be solved too.
Not only solving but giving it the knowledge further our Hindu brothers
