    It looks like a piece of art. A style that will be quite enduring. Beautifully made and good sounding. I could treasure that as my one and only ukulele. Thanks again for a thorough and complimentary review.

    I want to update my comment below. I waited for about a year for my Galileo. Marco was so wonderful to deal with, and I think he may be the nicest person on earth. The instrument came from Italy to Santa Fe, New Mexico, which is basically a desert, Marco recommended that I have an oak fretboard due to humidity issues. This ukulele was made by a perfectionist, and I just love it. Importation was no problem. In April 2024, when it was shipped, I paid about $60 in import fees . Of course, I keep it and all of our instruments humidified in our music room. Now to the sound and playability.… It is absolutely amazing. My neighbor is a guitar tech who travels with rock bands around the world. He played this Galileo and just loved it.

    Thanks Baz, great review and a Luthier I haven’t come across. Love the sleek modern look straight away. The fact that so much research has gone into making this instrument is credit to Marco. The sound has made me play the review twice, thanks for taking us through this, totally fascinating. The harmonisation of each string, yet so chimney is quite lovely. • @rehamkcirtap
    @rehamkcirtap ปีที่แล้ว

    I don't want to own one but I badly want to play it. That's quite the instrument.
    A note on thin line and volume: I have found in my limited experience that volume is mostly a function of thinness+resonance of the top and back. Thin line body seems mostly to mute the projection to my ear.

    • @GotAUkulele
      @GotAUkulele  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's precisely why he made it the way he did - take the sides and thin body out of the equation - just turn the top into a drum. it worked!

    Ciao Marco ✌🏻
    I think 'Marco‘s Italian sandwich' or even shorter 'Italy🇮🇹sandwich' would‘ve been a cool name!
    Anyhow, congratulazioni 🏅 once again to yet another unique build. Ho una domanda: as far as a strap button - where would be the sweet spot to put it I wonder. The missing logo is a bolt statement that is a logical consequence considering the overall understatement of this instrument.

      I think it's cheap considering the work that's gone in. Even if it took ten hours (and I suspect more like twice that) that would be €72 an hour. You can't get a plumber for that in the UK. And that also removes the cost of materials, workshop, lighting, power, tools etc.

    • @GotAUkulele
      @GotAUkulele  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      (just spoke to a UK luthier who makes far more traditional instruments than this. Suggested 20 hours. That's €36 per hour before materials and costs..... that's a pittance)

    Love the little touches on this one. Don't love the price though. Should be a hair cheaper IMHO. I do love the unique sound though... Might make it worth it! I see they have a spruce top option too, which I'd be tempted to try but that Chestnut tone is 😍

    • @GotAUkulele
      @GotAUkulele  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Assuming 20 hours work - about €35 per hour before tax, materials, tools, knowledge, power, rent, advertising etc. How much lower do you want someone to work for?

    • @GotAUkulele

    • @intoitreviews
      @intoitreviews ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GotAUkulele based on what was shown, I'd think $399 USD to $499, maybe $550 tops. I also tend to think a mechanic is a rip off, but I understand your point. I do love the tone and you can't really put a price on that 😉

    • @GotAUkulele
