Man, I don't think the price is out of line at all. The inside work is gorgeous and innovative as is the design. It's not just the time and materials to create it, but also the years of thought and experimentation that are included in the artisano. It's in a different class than a Far Eastern factory instrument made from a template . . . and some of those have costs approaching this beautiful thing.

Didn’t say it was. Just would have been wrong to not point out how it compares to other Bonanza ukes I’ve looked at

I love my Bonanza Oreo #302. Glad Pete is back making Ukes. This new one is a wonderful sounding instrument.

I have a cherry Homestead that I bought last year from their available stock. If you find the Millennium to be a bit above your budget, the single wood Homestead line plays like a dream. Pete has a skilled eye for choosing beautiful wood. My Homestead doesn't have any extra decoration, and it doesn't need it. They are great people to deal with. Well worth checking out!

I purchased my custom Oreo back in 2019 after watching your video on it. I loved working with Pete and his wife, getting to choose all the specs and details of my instrument. Such nice people and I'm so happy to hear Pete is back making these great ukes and still improving on the design, taking bold steps and pushing the boundaries.

Just one quick note: the Ranch Hand models have the integral neck, too. I still haven’t reviewed mine! It’s just more proof of how Pete continues to try new things and then keeps using the no-longer new techniques in his latest builds.

Have been following Bonanza throughout the years and always thought highly of the brand. So then weeks ago I was thrilled to learn that Pete’s recuperated to a point where he can build again. My order’s already underway…

This was an excellent review as always! I have not heard of Bonanza Uke's before but I am a big fan. I just went to their website after watching this review and I am eyeing the Baritone and one of the tenor's they have currently in stock.

@@GotAUkulele I am looking at the older style Oreo which I understand are popular and less expensive, but this new Millennium tenor I find very intriguing especially with the integrated neck design. Do you feel that the newer design sounds noticeably better? I also noticed you mentioned the Millennium has a 40mm nut width, is that what it was on the Oreo model as well? Is the Millennium a superior playing experience than the Oreo? I am trying to figure out if the extra $150 price jump is worth it or if I would be just as happy with the Oreo. Thanks in advance.

I’ve had a Bonanza baritone with the same body shape but an all mahogany body for two years. I smile each time I pick it up because it is was designed and made with craftsmanship. Pete and his wife are also wonderful to deal with. The thin shape makes it light and a joyful instrument although I find that a strap is needed to keep it cradled when playing.

The design does work, and work well. From this side of the TH-cam screen its brightness is just fine to me; clear and sharp. Not muddy when strummed. A high-dollar price, but good value for money considering the handwork, innovative design, and great tone. Excellent review.

  • @intoitreviews

I was looking at this body style, love it. Don't love the price jump..😢 I'd probably do Walnut as the main with aspen strips. Would richen up the tone imho.

Quite a distinctive look, I like it, sounds nice as well. I've always been wanting a Bonanza (well, not always but since I first found out about them through Got a Ukulele at least).
Personally I'm still leaning towards an Oreo though if I pull the trigger some day.

With 20% VAT and shipping (also +20%), a $700 price tag makes this a pretty luxury purchase in the UK. Pity, it's a lovely instrument.

I love the look of this one. I like a low G on some ukuleles but for me it doesn't blend well on this one. To my ear it sticks out and isn't playing well with others. haha That's the great thing with strings though at least you can change them out to fit your taste.

Wow I really like the looks of this one. Love the neck markers but the neck also looks a little boxy for my liking. The head and gears are nice. The price for hand made is not bad at all. I agree it sounds like a concert. Bright for a tenor. Like the melodic strum and picking. Very nice instrument and another enjoyable review…. Thanks my friend… DOC

Lovely and aesthetically unique uke. Thanks for the review appreciated as always. Always wonder how, import tax for instruments works. I think it is confusing for auk and we pay a lot. Would be interested if anyone has experience of importing a uke from USA etc. Have a great Uke.

@@GotAUkulele No worries. Doesn't detract from your excellent review. I think I love this ukulele. I'm searching now for a baritone. I'd love to match a good set of low g to blend with the brightness and get every string singing even more. Seriously, it's like the 70s muscle car of ukuleles.
