    What about for slotted??

These knots I’ve used for string through bridges. The concept is similar for spotted bridges but I’ve never tried it. I would think that if you used string balls (like the electric guitar string balls) that it would hold if the ball fitted in the slot. A double knot may work but again I’ve never tried it. Good luck

Nice! That's a useful knot to know. Personally I've resorted to to using bridge beads for this...those little 3 hole blocky things meant for a tie on classical guitar bridge. They secure the string, won't pull through the hole, and don't kink the string as tightly. I've had some difficulty with delicate strings like Aquila reds and suspect the sharp kink of a tight knot can lead to it breakage there.

Thanks for your comment. I’ve found the reds to be very consistent with knotting them this way, but I suppose only time will tell. Keep strumming!

@@theguitargarden I tried your knot (even tripling or quadrupling it) and think I like it better than the bridge bead for the treble strings. So far so good. I think I'll keep the bridge bead for red basses though, as I'm nervous about how a sharp a bend can make the windings unspool. Cheers!

Thank you for this. I just did a regular knot and had a string pull through. Any recommendations on specific beads?

Thanks for your comment. The beads I used were electric guitar strings ball ends, which are basically like a small thick washer. I play guitar so they were not hard to source. If you have a friend that plays guitar they might be able to pass on some used strings or your local music store may have some ukulele beads for sale but it might be cheaper to buy a cheap set of electric guitar strings with ball ends. All the best!

That’s actually pretty genius. I ended up going to Michael’s craft store and bought jewelry beads that have letters so my strings have the corresponding letters underneath haha

Thanks for the info. I was doing the two knot thing and it wasn't really working.

How was it not working? Do you mean the knot was pulling through the bridge?

@@theguitargarden yep. So I just got done charging strings and my dumb ass put them on backwards! I've been playing guitar for years but the uke has that high G string. So I had to order more strings.
Btw, the two thinnest strings kept slipping I had to redo them both. After that I was good. Thanks for the video. I needed a refresher. I used to change acoustic guitar strings too but I haven't had a nylon string acoustic in a long time. I have 4 steel string acoustics tho.
