      @@TheBabychris11 I never drove it more than 15 minutes the first day we had it on original battery. So the 1.5 hours was with additional 12v 12amp battery. Hi Katie,
      In one of the comments below to "Chad" I speak a bit to what to purchase with links if needed, and how to set it up. Running in parallel means you are just connecting the batteries in line, positive to positive and then negative to negative. So I ran an additional wire (I used 16 gauge wire roughly 1.5-2ft long with a male connector on one end and female on the other) from the positive of one battery to the positive of the new battery, and same for the negatives. It is recommended to have both batteries at the same charge level.. so I would say just charge them both to full before connecting. Some may use a "Y" splitter to do this a tad cleaner. I wired it as follows: Fit the original battery tabs (male) and the male end of the new wires I created into the original female wire connectors that came attached to the original battery (may need to just wide these a bit with a flat head screwdriver to accommodate both male connectors). Then you just take the other end of the wires you made and connect them over to the new battery (which that end of your wire would have a female tab to connect to male tab on the new battery). I guess when trying to explain it is a bit more difficult to spell it all out, but in reality just adding a cable from the original set up as purchased... to connect new battery using 2 new wires.. one between the positive terminal and one between the negative terminals. Hope this makes sense!

    I'm glad you posted this video, i purchased this one for my daughter after another one I purchased on amazon was a complete piece of garbage. I just finished putting it together and noticed there was something wrong with the rear suspension. Your video helped me realized that out car is missing the rear suspension. Hello! I bought my son one of these June 2023. The steering wheel stopped rotating. I have a few parts(bolts) that I think may belong to it but I'm not sure what to look for! I wonder if we're missing a metal rod?

      So I assume that while driving it, parts started to slowly fall off? Do you still have the manual or do you think you can find the list of parts that came with the original purchase? Maybe then you could buy the missing parts?

      @josephreinhold1832 I got a reply back from Best Choice on Amazon right as I finished my comment on here !! They sent me the manual PDF and I also found another video that helped me out! Just a little closer view of building it. I had a 2 bolts and thought at least one went in the bottom because it fit perfectly into the hole but come to find out it's actually a bolt that goes on the steering wheel piece to hold it in place and allows it to turn thr tires and I was just missing the nut that holds it in! Got a replacement at Ace Hardware, and it's in working order! 17 Cent fix! The extra bolt goes to something else! Lol

    • @josephreinhold1832
      @josephreinhold1832  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From all my research I came to the conclusion that when running batteries in parallel, the voltage needs to be the same, but the amp hours can be different since they operate on the same voltage. More amps, longer it will run. I haven't seen any issues so far and I literally watched two of my friends kids both ride in the vehicle together for over 1 hour in the cold and it didn't flinch. Here is decent link to simplify some of the different questions around this - wpbad.com/can-you-put-different-amp-hour-batteries-in-parallel/

    • @thomabb
      @thomabb ปีที่แล้ว

      The differences in the AH rating isn't a deal breaker. The AH rating relates to the size of the plates inside the battery. As long as the batteries are of the same type (lead acid, lithium, etc.) you won't have too much of an issue. Ideally, you should charge them separately.

Instead of using a "Y" splitter at the battery which may be easier, I went ahead and just created two cables that were male on one end and and female on the other. very simple.. I ran into this exact same issue, wont fit in the back of my Murano because it is too tall with the fake running lights on the roll bar. They simple can be taken off.. nothing difficult. Each wheel has a bolt and a hub-cap cover over it.

    Having a 12AH and 7AH battery in parallel is not ideal. Did you know that your 12AH battery will fit in that cutout right next to where that 7AH battery currently sits? That means you could have TWO 12AH batteries under the hood. That's a better way to go.

    • @josephreinhold1832

      good option there.. just had it out yesterday and all is still working good, but I am not an electrician, that's for sure. Sure having two matching batteries would be best.. likely two new ones since these sit on shelves for sometimes years..

      Hello there - I believe I had this question before and answered possibly in other comment. But basically if you look up how to run batteries in "parallel" it is pretty straight forward.. positive to positive, negative to negative.. all in line between the board and last battery. The stock charger will then charge them both.

    • @josephreinhold1832
      @josephreinhold1832  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unsure Dan... I thought the remote was the master.. and the pedal would be overridden if remote was active. My daughter (though I built this a year ago) still is a bot afraid to even ride in it.. so I do not know the relationship from the pedal to the remote well at this point.

    • @thomabb

      Both modes are active at the same time, except for the "P" on the remote which should stop the vehicle even in if the rider is pressing the accelerator.

    If you look at the radio when connecting to Bluetooth the car shows you the volts it puts off 12.8v
    Edit: so with the extra battery is it adding more power or is it just ride time??

    • @kayjay4060
      @kayjay4060 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Run time. Run in series will double voltage = more power. Run in parallel and double the Amps = run time. Careful running series on these types of vehicles. They run 12 volt and can burn up the board for the remote control feature. Most of the power wheels that don't have remote control can handle series as long as the motors don't get a lot of resistance (up hill, heavy, restriction in moving). Allow the tires to spin, and keep it on level ground. They handle 18v better on the ones without remotes.
