Love your videos! I hope u remember me when I reached out about a year ago for advice on a trans am 4th gen purchase and I was able to buy one and flip it and I made 7k and was able to buy my 90s dream car (a lexus ls400) These videos have given me the idea of purchasing a semi used ss, what do you think maintenance is going to be like and what mileage intervals are going to require a lot of work? It would ultimately be my daily atleast 90% of the time and I hope it is nothing like a LT1 from a fourth gen maro kind of maintenance
glad you made a profit. congrats on the ls400 as well these 6th gens have historically been very good cars. If maintained properly, 100-150k miles should be pretty easy before any major work. Id suggest a catch can (i will be getting one for mine soon). other than that, change the oil full synthetic every 5k miles or so and it should last a long time. The automatic cars can have lifter issues with the DOD system. Changing oil regularly and not idling a ton helps these issues though. If lifters do fail, it is not that difficult to delete the system
GM interior gets such a bad rep. Somewhat understandable; people don't like the feel, sound, look of the plastic. Probably because I have some fond memories of the Pontiac Trans Sport interior, I think GM's interior is fine for its price. I won't go crying about a cheap interior if the car drives fine, and I can sit comfortably in it.
