This was a satisfying run to watch. I will likely never be speedrunning a Sonic let alone any game, but it brings me contentment and joy to watch someone thoroughly kick a Sonic game to the curb speed wise, true ending and all!

Claris, you’re probably already aware of this, but when you super during the metal sonic boss fight (Pre-Metal Kai) during the part where he summons robo sonics, the ones that don’t go into spindash actually explode into pellets that can damage Metal Sonic, when they extend their arm and charge at you just stand there, the explosion will send the pellets directly at him for additional damage. Just want you to know that, good speedrun.

Yo there is a glitch of how to skip the heavier shenobi boss fight near the end of act 2 of press garden there is a tree cutter machine just cut the tree a little bit and then get the badnik right outside of the ramp that takes you to the heavy shenobi boss, the badnik needs to freeze you and you huge screen blocking tree will de spawn and then you can walk to the animal capsule without doing heavy shenobi boss fight causing a pretty big skip Edit: thanks for 1 like Edit 2: note this glitch only works in sonic + tails

I heard they made the emerald speed up when approaching it at Mach 1, so I'm wondering if that's true or not. Also, any other speedrun useful glitches they patched other than the studiopolis 1 and stardust speedway 2 boss skips?(Such as knuckles glitch?)
This is the PC version. The UFO does speed up, but doesn't do so in time before you catch it with these strats; basically, it means that if you mess up, it's going to speed away from you and so mistakes are far more costly, but if you don't mess up these strats then it doesn't really matter. Newer versions removed a bunch of various things, such as going through the tube in Chemical Plant 2, the boss skip in Press Garden 2, the glitch at the start of Oil Ocean 2, most of the Knuckles glitches... The Studiopolis 2 glitch was actually originally removed but then accidentally added back in the latest patch, I would expect that to be gone if they patch the game again.
Oh, I see. I figured something was up when you didn't do the Heavy Shinobi or Metal Sonic skips either, but I wasn't sure until you confirmed it. Just something else to consider, I guess.

Yo there is a glitch of how to skip the heavier shenobi boss fight near the end of act 2 of press garden there is a tree cutter machine just cut the tree a little bit and then get the badnik right outside of the ramp that takes you to the heavy shenobi boss, the badnik needs to freeze you and you huge screen blocking tree will de spawn and then you can walk to the animal capsule without doing heavy shenobi boss fight causing a pretty big skip

There is a giant ring in Knuckles' route which you can get to as Sonic tails or Sonic and tails

This run is done on Version 1.03 so it can't do that skip.
