There's no space to build a proper football size Stadium within city limits,although the Jets almost got a retractable-roof stadium in the mid 90s,which was also gonna be the centerpiece for our 2012 Summer Olympics bid. Instead,it has become residential and office space

Swift Nitty Really?? Sin City will go dark (no pun intended) because they NOW have an NFL team? The Raiders NOW will have a broader fan base than they ever had. People from AROUND THE WORLD that are visiting Las Vegas will go to a game while in town, and many will become fans. Based upon your logic, I see why they're leaving! It's BUSINESS, something that the Oakland politicians, and the Raiders fan base doesn't understand too well.
The Raiders are Oakland,s team, if the Commish, aka Roger Godell wants to do something good then how about helping those great fans who faithfully sit in the Black Hole keep the Silver and Black in Oakland?

Yup. From Los Angeles, 3.5 hour trip by car to Vegas or 5.5 hour trip by car to Oakland. More people from Southern CA are more willing to travel to Vegas for the weekend than driving up to the East Bay.

There are no raiders fan in Las Vegas
alot of people in vegas will be willing to go to these games idk about becoming a fan of the team cause alot of people who live here are usually not born here so they have their home teams but i know i would love to go to football games for the raiders even if im not a fan

L.A. is 4 hours away and the bay is 7 hours away. I'm 6 hours away. I would drive out there for 1 game a year.

I think you're right. I think most football fans didn't go to college and love to spend money on their favorite team. And box seats and suites? Vegas is loaded with rich people and celebrities. There will be a bidding war. While the education level is important for a city in general, it's a pointless stat for a sports team.
So why does Detroit have a football team then?

Exactly. Which doesn't even account for the historicity of the team's attachment to Detroit. More goes into it than education and income levels. Colin was merely weighing the pros and cons of each location. It's not black and white.

The Raiders should market The Raiders games in Las Vegas as the perfect getaway to watch some football and support your team while gambling, partying, and eating a lot of good food. It just seems like the ultimate football getaway.

I think that San Diego Chargers will stay in San Diego, even they are started with 0-5 record, and Oakland Raiders will stay in Oakland, despite of 7-2 record, but it is the most penalized team of the NFL.

the advantages Vegas gives is beyond what raiders will get in oak or LA. there's no other sports teams to deal with, they will be the face of Nevada and Vegas is offering keys to the city..$ for a new stadium. the raider image will be over Vegas lights where the world travels to..top of that u gain LA fans who love to quick trip to Vegas every weekend. u gain back ur Scal fan base and oak fans will go through cheap airline to Vegas and be back home in the same day.while raider nation from all over goes to vacation in Vegas and see their team..imagine if raiders won a superbowl..can u say extreme party town! I want raiders in LA or Oak in cali..but business Vegas is the best deal on the table
Bray Mo people are moving out of vegas because the economy sucks. it's a tourist town. raiders will have way more trouble filling the seats than in oakland.

I see what you mean, but it would be cool to have an NFL team within driving distance. I'm from Salt lake and am already looking forward to driving down to Vegas for the new NHL team and an NFL team would be just as good
Therron Murray I'm from salt lake too and would rather fly to Oakland than drive to Vegas. I went to the Chargers game a couple weeks ago and got front row tickets and flew southwest (in and out the same day) and only paid $600 (game tickets were $300 plus $50 fee and plane tickets were $250 both of which only purchased about 3 weeks in advance). Driving to and from Vegas at least $100 gas probably more unless you have a Prius, hotel going to run at least $250 a night unless you want roaches so that leaves tops $250 for your ticket which in a brand new $1.5 billion stadium you'd better bring binoculars (another $20) and on top of that even if you decide to skip the hotel you're missing a day of work because I doubt you'd be able to wake up after driving to and from Vegas with an NFL game in between

So let me get this straight? When the rams moved to St. Louis. What were those loyal rams fans supposed to do? if they stopped being rams fans but then became fans again after they moved back, I would undoubtedly question their loyalty. if the raiders move, are you suddenly going to stop supporting Mack, Carr, & Cooper because they play in a difference city? That sounds superficial to me if you stop giving them love because they play in a different city
