This episode was actually surprisingly well written. Not only did Yuri arrive late so Anya wouldn't be awake when he was there, but he gave the exact same "I forgot" excuse to his own superiors! Of course he'd accept that from Yor!
I didnt catch that. Yuri used that Í forgot"excuse for holding evidence in the interrogation thinking its perfectly normal for other officers to accept that excuse, of course he would think Yor using that excuse is normal. Nice catch.
The only thing bothered me was protecting from METEOR thing. In the manga, Loid was saying he could protect Yor from NUCLEAR BOMBS.
And that surprised drunk Yuri, where he think Loid is that strong?? Have access on nuclear bomb?
This makes more sense since they are at the risk of civil war. Between the east and west. But then again, NUCLEAR BOMB was not supposed to exist in germany settings.

Honestly him saying he forgot to turn in that evidence doesn´t really have to mean he really forgot because he is airhead like his siter. It could have easily been planed move by him to shake the dude during the interrogation (, while also getting the credit for being the one to break him). Honestly wish it was the second one since that would show that at last in his "work mode" he really is intimidating enough to potentially be a real threat to Twilight.
I don't think he knew Yor is an assassin. From a combination of him trusting his sister to an almost-insane degree, like he wants to believe her no matter what, and being as dense as a brick like her too.
To add to this he probably thought it was yors blood and not someone elses. So he probably thought she was out here getting fucked up for him
I doubt he knows, If he knew would he really be ok of an assasin being Yor's job. A dangerous ass job.

As for this episode, I don't see Yuri as a bad guy at all. He is just extremely devoted to Yor because she's literally the only family member he has left. Seeing her work hard to support him back then with her part time jobs (we can take just one guess what it was), he resolved to be someone who will do his best to protect her in return, hence why he joined the SSS in the first place. Funny now both are not aware to each other's questionable occupations lol.
He has no romantic feelings for his sister whatsoever. In fact, he even suggested Yor to get married back in ep 2. If he truly had inherently romantic feelings for his own sister, he would've never suggested that to begin with.

I mean, Yuri is a siscon, but he's a tolerable siscon so to speak, and he even made me laugh several times in the episode because of his feud with Loid (fun fact: their seiyuus are best friends in real life)

Obviously Yuri is a major threat to Loid, but one thing people tend to miss is that Yor is also a huge threat to him as well. The people she is hired to assassinate are enemies of Ostania. If Loid's identity was revealed, he would have more to worry about than the secret police, because if they can't catch him, the person who would be hired to take care of him in their place is literally there in his house.
Except Yor's group doesn't seem to ally with the Secret Police, hence why Yor was fearful of getting arrested by them. Yor's group is a private organization, not a government one. Yor also by all accounts looks into the people she is charged with assassinating, to confirm their crimes. Twilight is not seeking to ruin the world as the secret police believe, and I'd wager Garden (Yor's group) would know that their beliefs are unconfirmed. Garden also seeks to avoid war with Westalis, just as Twilight does, so they have more reason to be allies than enemies.

@@Ryodraco you've got a point however you're completely wrong. Even if garden is a private organisation most of it's targets are traitors of the nation or spys. In the manga there's several scenes where after yor goes out on a assassination job, loid gets informed my franky or handler that their men/informants were killed. Plus yor herself sees all traitors(of ostania) as scumbags that don't deserve to live. Sure, garden doesn’t want war but they don't like westalis either. Also the probably don't even know what WISE's true motives are. So to them twilight is a threat no mater what his mission is.
Loid and Yor will have to fight by the end of the series, it's being built up since chapter two(Yor's first appearance).
Garden is from ostania but we doesnt know if it is part of the governmet or they are independent. The secret service, garden and wise have the same objetive, keep the pace. The problem of garden is that yor is to naive and could be manipulated, the secret service can change his objetive or the desmond party take again the power
The interesting thing though, is that both organizations (WISE and the Garden) have the same overall goal: eliminate those who threaten the peace. Not perceived threats like the SSS preach, but only those that are legitimate and backed by hard evidence.
^Hypothetically, if they were smart enough to look at the trail of dead people and what they had in common, they could see that the presumed killers of these people (Twilight/Thorn Princess) are primarily targeting scumbags, people who threatened the peace, and/or those who threatened people in general... ie, exactly what the other is doing for their side, which means they could see that Twilight isn't necessarily a villain out to destroy their country (even if he is on the 'enemy's side'). It likely wouldn't be enough on it's own to leave each other be, but it could deter perceptions that there's any need for an elimination, unless/until that status quo changes.
Based on that imo, I think there's a good chance Loid is safe from Yor, even disregarding the growing family dynamic that would muddle such a scenario. Well, more than he would be otherwise :P

Yuri is literally a "Yeaaaah?" in human form. Man made me think wtf so many times.
I love how Loid is actually portrayed as a super smart guy, but not in a bullshit way. Like usually when someone is supposed to be a great spy they just kinda know stuff out of nowhere, but here he actually figures it out on clues and background checks.

honestly, can't say I blame yuri. if I found out my sister was married and didn't tell me and I never met the guy, I'd be pissed off myself.
I love how this show takes normal normal life and inverts it. Normally people get anxious when they have to put on an act to fake something, but they're comfortable if they're able to be themselves. But Loid and Yor are completely comfortable lying and faking an entire life, but are both incredibly anxious about kissing each other because their feelings for each other are real :)
It's too early to say that they "have feelings" for each other. Twilight was fine with going for a kiss when prompted because, as we saw in the first episode, he's no stranger to seducing women for the mission. (Even now in the manga, he's only just coming to terms with the fact that he actually enjoys having a family and is worried that is compromising his professional acumen.) Yor, however, has been so dedicated to raising her brother that she probably never even had a boyfriend. We do know from her inner thoughts that she finds Loid attractive; her inexperience with romance and partnership is something Yor tries to address going forward, because she has to play a convincing wife and mother for the sake of her own cover. Catching feelings has been a very slow process for both of them.
Seeing how Loid believes that Yor learned how to take down a cow from yoga classes, maybe he shouldn't judge Yuri for accepting Yor's "I forgot" excuse.
This episode genuinely felt like it was 5 minutes to me. I’ve never been more caught off guard by the end of an episode.

The math problem was actually just the same mistake most kids make when first learning fractions, it was 5/6 - 2/3. She subtracted both numerator and denominator, which resulted in 3/3. It was a really cool detail for math nerds like me.
