yeah, this particular manga panel wasn't translated well to the anime. if anya said in the anime "no, i can't do that" this scene would've been clearer edit: based on the general reactions on ep9, a lot of anime-onlys got confused that loid and yor have been married for a year. in the manga, there were frequent reminders that they backdated their marriage by a year. i think the same has happened with this scene. in the manga this scene transitioned into a thought bubble, so it was clear that anya was just imagining the whole thing. we don’t have any clear indication of that in the anime. it wouldn’t click right from the get-go that loid’s reaction was unusual. i know not all panels should be animated 1:1, but i’m just curious how wit/cloverworks will go about a few scenes in the manga that only worked BECAUSE it was in manga format.

You can even find more than a few cases of people who have drowned in busy public swimming pools, often only to be discovered days later when their body fills with gas and floats to the surface.

I'm telling you guys, the omelet rice is really good! It's something I've eaten as a child as well! The rice is basically stir-fried with ketchup (like the one shown in the show and traditionally seen in Japan), and you can add your choice of veggie and protein, and then it's covered with a fluffy egg, and you add more ketchup on top of the egg! yes, kids drown quetily almost lost my brother to a pool. we were near a pool at a hotel, and I was 7 and he was 2. We stayed on the shallow side cause I could not swim at the time, I looked away from my brother for a bit and looked back and he was gone. I did not notice a thing, he was gone like not a sound. I was smart enough to check the deep side of the water though so i went held on the ladder that was on the deep side and grabbed my brother and pulled him out. He survived, did my idea of CPR on him and it worked water came out his mouth. But I mean I feel like I just wasted my efforts cause he died 2 year ladder due to murder.

Besides, as a kid, you're just focused on trying to breathe, there's just no time to call for help in any sense (if you even think of it). The way he fell in is actual pretty real. One of the highest mortality rates for children is drowning and called "a silent killer". Many kids are just light or small enough that falling in and even then flailing might not generate enough noise to let someone know. Some kids like the kid in the show arent able to swim, due to an injury like his or even just not being able to. It actually happened to my husband and he was lucky an aunt asked where he was, realized and dove in to check.
Also, the second cour has been announced for the end of this year if I’m correct. Also, I highly recommend checking out the manga as well. Totally worth it.

"How'd you fall in quiet" Real drownings are actually pretty quiet. The person drowning is trying to breathe, not shout for help. Not to mention the initial shock of "Wait, is this really happening?". When I worked with kids, we had to watch videos of drownings so we'd know what they really look like (there was a pool in the center). It looks like the person drowning is jumping off of the pool floor and poking their head out of the water, over and over again, never actually saying anything. Then they stop jumping. It's very, very quiet.
Just an FYI ; Sheera is 100% right. Kids drown silently. Especially in pools at ground level. The basics of what happens is ; -Kid slips/falls into pool. - Especially in ground level pools, when falling kids tend to rotate to face up, meaning they enter the water sideways most of the time resulting in very little splashing. - Once the kid has fallen in and is looking upwards they swing their arms around and try to scream, which, because they are facing upwards, causes them to push themselves downwards. Trying to scream underwater has obvious consequences. - Kid has fallen in nearly as silently as possible, is breathing in water and pushing themselves deeper down in a panic. - The kid either gets saved, or the worst happens. Here in Australia drowning is still one of the leading causes of child and infant deaths, which is why since (I think 1978) all Australian schools require children to be taught how to swim. Like literally, every other part of the Australian education ciriculum somewhat flexible, however swimming lessons and water safety lessons are the only thing that has to be taught as it is written, for at least the amount of time specified, by law.

The rice is basically stir-fried with ketchup (like the one shown in the show and traditionally seen in Japan), and you can add your choice of veggie and protein, and then it's covered with a fluffy egg, and you add more ketchup on top of the egg!

yes, kids drown quetily almost lost my brother to a pool. we were near a pool at a hotel, and I was 7 and he was 2. We stayed on the shallow side cause I could not swim at the time, I looked away from my brother for a bit and looked back and he was gone. I did not notice a thing, he was gone like not a sound. I was smart enough to check the deep side of the water though so i went held on the ladder that was on the deep side and grabbed my brother and pulled him out. He survived, did my idea of CPR on him and it worked water came out his mouth. But I mean I feel like I just wasted my efforts cause he died 2 year ladder due to murder.

6:07 Fact. As a kid, I once almost drowned in a hotel pool literally full of people. There's a lot of noise, and everyone's doing their thing, so they just don't see it. Besides, as a kid, you're just focused on trying to breathe, there's just no time to call for help in any sense (if you even think of it). I was just fortunate that my father suddenly noticed me and dove in the water to rescue me.

Right, I was thinking that too! Did he just not notice it, that kid is barely able to *move* on land let alone swim on his own whilst in shock.
The way he fell in is actual pretty real. One of the highest mortality rates for children is drowning and called "a silent killer". Many kids are just light or small enough that falling in and even then flailing might not generate enough noise to let someone know. Some kids like the kid in the show arent able to swim, due to an injury like his or even just not being able to. It actually happened to my husband and he was lucky an aunt asked where he was, realized and dove in to check.

"How'd you fall in quiet" Real drownings are actually pretty quiet. The person drowning is trying to breathe, not shout for help. Not to mention the initial shock of "Wait, is this really happening?". When I worked with kids, we had to watch videos of drownings so we'd know what they really look like (there was a pool in the center). It looks like the person drowning is jumping off of the pool floor and poking their head out of the water, over and over again, never actually saying anything.
Then they stop jumping.
It's very, very quiet.
After I see episode 12, I'm buying the manga.

Just an FYI ; Sheera is 100% right. Kids drown silently.
Especially in pools at ground level.
The basics of what happens is ;
-Kid slips/falls into pool.
- Especially in ground level pools, when falling kids tend to rotate to face up, meaning they enter the water sideways most of the time resulting in very little splashing.
- Once the kid has fallen in and is looking upwards they swing their arms around and try to scream, which, because they are facing upwards, causes them to push themselves downwards. Trying to scream underwater has obvious consequences.
- Kid has fallen in nearly as silently as possible, is breathing in water and pushing themselves deeper down in a panic.
- The kid either gets saved, or the worst happens.
Here in Australia drowning is still one of the leading causes of child and infant deaths, which is why since (I think 1978) all Australian schools require children to be taught how to swim. Like literally, every other part of the Australian education ciriculum somewhat flexible, however swimming lessons and water safety lessons are the only thing that has to be taught as it is written, for at least the amount of time specified, by law.
