Very nice, Slieve Bearnagh looked a winter wonderland in the morning time. I love sitting in the tent and hearing the wind whip up in the distance. The lanshan held up pretty well. Great watch 👍
Thanks Geoff. It was a super adventure. The snow makes the mountain so different. I loved it. And the Lanshan2, amazing!!! Was definitely "looser" in the morning though. Ha ha ha
Alyn, lovely winter conditions and some fantastic light showing the Mournes at their best👍 Great that you dug your heels in and continued with your plan to have that superb experience of camping on the summit of Slieve Bearnagh (in the wind and snow😊). Cool that you got a descent nights sleep despite the weather💤 Being up there in the mist in the morning all frozen was a different world from lower down at the Hare's Gap. Worth all the effort (as always) to get those authentic experiences outdoors👍
Yeah Gerry. Its one thats gonna start with me for a long time. It was truly beautiful up there and im so glad I spent the night. I went back and forth deciding if I should go but so glad I did. Good kit and being prepared makes all the difference. Will definitely do it again. Its a different world up there when its cold and there's snow, so beautiful
Youre welcome Eddie! Ha ha ha. It honestly wasn't that cold. I was all wrapped up and the tent was so good. It was absolutely beautiful Eddie, my camera work just doesn't do it justice.
Hi Alyn. Nice video, nights spent on the mountains in those conditions make you appreciate the comfort s of home 😅. Its nice when the cloud pulls back and you get to see the countryside below. All the best 👍
Hey Alyn, crackin trip there, looked like you had the best time in all that snow! The shot of the lonely tent at night was brilliant mate, and some amazing footage in the morning coming down. I don’t know about you but when the wind picks up and buffs the tent I always have this fear that I’m gonna be blown off the mountain! Thanks for sharing, ATB.
Gary, it was such a great experience and such a confidence booster. I feel like I'm ready for K2. Ha ha ha ha. But youre right, those gusts are scary at times. I honestly think im getting used to it though for I fell asleep again and didn't hear a thing til the alarm went off! Awesome trip
Looked like a great camp Alyn 👌 Not sure I have the nerve (or the kit!) for winter camping just yet but maybe this time next year..... The view at 04:30 was incredible and worth any effort to experience 😍
Aw Niall it was a great adventure and to be honest it was a great confidence booster. But so much fun. I thought i would be able to see more off Bearnagh but the cloud refused to yield. That view with the sun going down behind Meelbeg was a wee surprise. It was behind me as I climbed Bearnagh and only when I ran out of breath did I turn to see it. Beautiful. Really glad you enjoyed it.
You're a brAve man, Alyn, it looked on the risky side to me but maybe your just used to that. Your morning views were exceptional, and the snow adds another dimension altogether. I'm not a great fan of curry but Cadburys Caramel hits the spot for me. Well done, regards, Ashley
Thanks Ashley. The walk up was fine. The walk back down worried me when I opened the zip of the tent and saw the cloud. But a guy had passed me at 07.00 in shorts!!! He had just come up that way and said it was fine. That gave me more confidence. The curry was so good and the Cadbury's caramel for afters was the comfort food needed. Such a good trip
Thanks so much for the comments. The wee Lanshan 2 is hard to beat. Now it was a lot "looser" in the morning after all the wind but it held up so well. Love it.
Bearnagh looked so great with the snow! 😊 Fab that you got to experience that Alyn - lovely memories made! Ya lucky thing!! 😎
Miriam this was a special one for sure. The walk in, the climb up, the light, the silence, the wind the chocolate. Would def do it again.

Wow, what a cool adventure 😊 Snow and wind is not an excuse for not going on adventures ⛄️
It was so good pal. Just amazing. Take the right gear, plenty of water and food and wrap up warm. It was such an experience
That was a cracking outing Alyn, fair play for sticking with it. I did however feel cold watching it, so thanks for that 🥶🤣👍🏻

Totally agree Andrew. And the comforts of home were a tonic for a cold night on the mountain. Lol.

Thanks so much. Glad you enjoyed it.
Well done, nice to see the snow. I bet the chocolate was well chilled!
And sooooo good. Lol. I prefer my chocolate chilled. It was a great adventure.
@@walkwatchers me too, from the fridge is the best and you had the next best thing there I'd say.
@@patrickobrien8902 totally, but it didn't help with my curry! Lol
Well done! The old Lanshan 2 seemed to hold up well... atb... Sinco
