Literally brought to tears by these two guys I had the honour to meet when they held gigs in my hometown (Arona, Italy) respectively, 1996 (Scofield) and 2003 (Granadier, with Brad Melhdau trio). In my personal opinion, when you play duos it's because you're at the very core of the musical matter. 'Chapeau' to both o'them.

The OX is a load box and attenuator - allows you to crank a tube amp to overdrive without going earshatteringly loud. A Fender tube amp in this situation would either be way too loud or just sound thin and crappy at this low volume. The OX fixes that problem.

I think the bass is recorded twice through the bass mic and the mic in front of the guitar amp so you have two attacs slightly displaced. That’s why it sounds a bit noisy..
