Refreshing to see someone actually pay attention to the story. A lot of gamers I watch talk a lot and make jokes and miss visual details that are important clues and end up surprised later on.
I agree. Sometimes it's more entertaining if a TH-camr actually focuses on what's going on instead of desperately attempting to humor their audience. I know it's hard to keep your audience from getting bored but paying attention will help them avoid missing out on crucial details and gameplay tips.

I notice that too, because most people today choose to play games on a Livestream in twitch, and they usually don't pay attention to dialogues and cutcenes. And end up not understand something. Recording yourself in games that have a lot of dialogues and cutscenes is the best way to play games if you have a channel. Because if you are streaming you Will pay more attention to chat than the game, and people donating on the stream.
Are you sure because they sound.. "off". I guess it would also be possible that they are indeed native German but tried to put on an old accent. However it doesn't sound perfect.

A few helpful convenience tips, in case you missed it before. *Tapping L1 draws and holsters your weapon without having to open the wheel. *You can change Arthur's outfit at camp by the chest at the foot of your bed (Also at a hotel room) And don't forget Arthur's hat! Lol He doesn't look right without it imo.
I would also just like to add that you can actually change your clothes without the need for a catalogue at some general stores. Just find a door that's very near to the store owner and a prompt will show up to change clothes (for example the door just at the right side of the store owner of Valentine or the closet door thing in the Rhodes general store). That way you don't have to go and pay for a hotel room unless you need to sleep.
After each mission Arthur writes his point of view of what happened in his jornal. After the fishing with Jack, he explains a bit more about his relationship with John, Abigail and Jack.

Honestly chapter 3 is probably the best in the game, definitely my favorite anyway and I'm glad you did the mission with Sadie because she is a total badass, you'll love her more and more throughout the game. Also I've heard you talking about wanting to change clothes, you can do that right next to your bed in camp, there's a little chest and it gives you two options, change clothes or weapon locker. And of course you can buy clothes at any general store or tailor.
Even though the towns on the map aren't that far away in terms of actual travel, in terms of the story they are extremely far away from each other, to the point where they even have different climates (weather, political, and social).
Keep in mind that back then travel and distance was different because of the methods of transportation. Horses move quite slowly, even more so when pulling a wagon, stagecoach, or carriage. They also don’t gallop all the time like what’s often shown in movies, but instead they walk or lightly trot most of the time. And they have to stop frequently for water and rest. Another factor is the roads, which back then were mostly unpaved (even in towns) and were often in disrepair or full of debris (like stumps or rocks or the like). The roads could also have been affected by the weather, which could further slow down horses and/or even cause wagons and coaches to break. A journey that today would probably take a couple hours by car could take days by horse, and probably even longer by stagecoach or wagon. It takes sense that even though towns may look close on the map, they would be mostly or at least partially isolated from each other.
I was hoping her and Arthur would hook up. They have good banter and Arthur is the only one that really humors and respects her. And that ass in them jeans lol... dayum. 🤣

Not sure if anyone has already commented this but when you're riding horses, you can go into what is basically autopilot mode so that you can focus on conversations without having to worry about crashing your horse. Not sure what button it is on console, because I played it on PC.
I really recommend taking a moment and reading through Arthurs journal! Its gives insight on just about everything he's encountered up to this point and a little bit of story from before the game started when they were in Blackwater! It also has some pretty cute doodles of whatever you've discovered in your compendium! Its gives more personal opinions about his friends and the world around him and its an amazing story feature

Tacitus was a renowned historian of the ancient world. Knowing the naming conventions of the 19th century, I'm pretty sure there would've been quite a few Tacituses (Taciti?) running around, since reading "The Classics" was part of a well-bred education back in those days.
you can change clothes from the chest at the foot of arthur's bed, from the wardrobe if you rent a room in hotels, from clothing/general stores and from your saddlebags(to preset outfits you have stored there). different stores sell different clothes so shop around. also, buy all the gun belts and bandoliers you can, the effect(increases max ammo capacity) stacks for each one you own and you don't even have to wear the bandolier, you can take it off and you'll still have the increased ammo capacity....the trapper has most of the gun belts and bandoliers but you will have to complete challenges to unlock those
Great playthrough Cyn, really enjoying it!! You should go explore the islands just west of your camp. There's something pretty cool over there! And make sure you explore the most southern island, there is something you can find that can be of use. It's in a chest. Just make sure to give Hammerhead a stamina tonic before you make the journey over there.
The 1st time I played this game, I did not roam around much outside the Valentine/Strawberry region because I did not know there was so much to look for and thought the missions were more time sensitive. I only went as north as the tracks and not much further south than the bridge we saved Swanson on. And in the "fleeing horseshoe overlook" mission, when the landscape changed and the dirt became red... I was overcome at how well this game makes a 2 mile trip feel like a 200 mile journey. Suddenly we were in Georgia, then Alabama and Louisiana. I could smell the swamp and taste the red dust. Just such an amazng immersive masterpiece of a game. And the music... the. Bluegrassy version of popular Jazz songs. Perfect. And the joke encounters with the Klan... hilarious. It makes me smile when someone enjoys the game as much as I do.
I mentioned this in a previous video as well, but I will say it again because so few people do this these days: I really enjoy your immersion in not only the story, but the world itself. This is one of my favorite games and I like watching other people play it, hoping they enjoy it as much as I did. I stopped watching twitch-streamers playing RDR2 because they usually focus more on chat than the game (which is OK, but I don't like it for story-driven games like this) and I end up getting annoyed. Think of it like watching your favorite movie with a friend and they keep scrolling memes on their phone instead.
It's fun watching you play this game. it's a good idea to bring food back to camp when you return from roaming and doing missions. Deer, Bison, Elk, Duck, Fish Or Turkey will make the gang happy. Doing chores in camp also helps the gang bond with you and helps honor. Oh and if you go fishing and release some of the ones you catch, it will help your honor. Just wanted you to know. Happy Roaming!
Love the playthrough so far! You’re doing great. It’s great to see when people take their time with the game. It’s a slow burn and most people try and blow right through it.
Sadie is pretty much the same sorta woman as Black Belle, I am not surprised you like her so much. Theres so many good charachters its hard to pick an absolute favorite, but she is on the top of my list as well.

Just thought I'd let you know, I think you may have missed a gameplay element introduction: I have not watched this VoD yet, only the one before this. I think you may have missed the tutorial message during the train robbery. Now you can individually tag certain spots of multiple enemies in DeadEye. So that hold up situation at the end of the episode you could have, for example, targeted all their heads or gun hands in deadeye and killed them all in seconds . Just wanted to make sure you didn't miss this as its one of the most enjoyable and unique aspects of both Red Dead games!
40:07 - Keep looking around. You can find out where Trelawny goes when he's not with the gang. A tip while fishing: when a hook a fish, press the analog stick up and down to quickly bring in the fish. This is especially useful when reeling in legendary fish. Go to Gill Landing on the shore south of Horseshoe Overlook for a stranger mission related to legendary fish. 56:47 - No. No, he can't.
2 tips for long distance travel, if your on a quest with one of the gang you should be able to just hold the run button when on a horse and you will keep pace, also if you set a destination you can use the cinematic camera to auto run.
i gotta say man charles is my goat. An excellent tracker and sees right through Arthur. He knows Arthur is a good man and all i can say about that is that it takes one to know one.
Idk if you do this off-camera, but if you read Arthur’s journal, you get a lot of his inner thoughts. Note that it begins before chapter one and gives a lot of the backstory from before the events of the game.
In terms of the Rhodes storyline, the obvious comparison is Romeo & Juliet, with the 2 waring families. But another comparison, with the western angle, is A Fistful Of Dollars. In that film, Clint Eastwood comes to a town with waring gangs and proceeds to play them against each other.
Take your gold bars to the fence and trade them in you've got two now which is 1000 its really good for the story u can upgrade guns by horses tonics etc
39:10 Story wise the distance between places like Valentine and Rhodes or Rhodes and Saint Denis are supposed to be far apart, that is shown by the time in game, 1 hour in game is one minute in real life. So a ride from Valentine to Rhodes may take 2 to 3 minutes but acc to the game's time it took u 2 to 3 hours so... Ya u put some distance between Valentine and Rhodes just fyi :)
pretty sure you noticed that your deadeye is working differently but i don't think you saw when it changed, in the last video when you robbed the train, at the part where you save Sean it upgraded your deadeye, you now have to manually "tag" targets, you can still tag multiple targets before firing, while in deadeye tap R1 to mark up your targets before pressing R2 to fire also, a fun useless tip/fact, charles is a tracker, in nearly every mission with him he will use his tracking skills to track or follow someone, if you use your eagle vision you'll see the tracks he is tracking and sometimes get a slightly different dialogue
To reel faster you can change the reel button in the options also while you reel tilt the left stick down periodically like wait a second each time you do it itll pull the fish towards you making fishing way faster.
While riding a horse at a gallop, like when chasing the train with the Anderson brothers, or in a horse race if you pat your horse every three to five seconds it won't lose stamina as fast. Start patting it when you hear it start breathing hard.
If you go into the game settings, you can set up the fishing mechanic so you can reel in just by pressing and holding "square" as opposed to rotating the joy stick. Much easier. Really comes in handy when fighting the larger "legendary" fish species.
I think you kind of have to imagine that the map is not 1:1 to our world, Valentine and Rhodes are not "neighbouring towns", they are in completely different states in the game lore, even the climate is different and people have different accents. Developers kind of have to make the map represent larger space than it actually is and have interesting locations packed closely enough so it doesn't feel empty. The same goes for the quest when you go fishing with Jack, even though you are like 100 yards from the actual camp, you have to imagine that it represents bigger space, otherwise the Pinkertons would find your camp a long time ago if they were already so close to it.
Your deadeye got upgraded, whenever you use it now, you have to manualy tag the target ( I don't know wich button on the cotroller, pc player here and then it's E). I noticed you just go into deadeye and shoot without tagging ( it works but is less effective)
Hey just a tip but when you set up camp somewhere, you can cook meat from animals you kill and stow it in your satchel for more health when you need it. Haven’t seen if you’ve done that yet. And when you’re in dead eye mode you can mark your target with the R1 button before you shoot them too. Haven’t seen you do that, either. Don’t know if that’s by choice though
I think its R1 on playstation but you can mark targets now in Deadeye like you could before it just requires a button press now instead of tagging automatically
Cooking your own meat will replenish your cores quicker, especially seasoned big game; minty big game replenishes health to golden core, oregano big game replenishes stamina to golden core and thyme big game replenishes dead eye to golden core. Your horse’s disposition can be dependent on their health status.
yea, it's like bringing jerky everywhere you go. I'd recommend to start collecting herbs and cooking at campfires. I also recommended to collect feathers as well.
Just a heads up, since you've unlocked the "New" version of Deadeye, you can manually mark the enemies in deadeye now by pressing R1 when you target them during deadeye in order to shoot multiple people. Not trying to backseat game, just noticed you missed the tip it showed to do so in the last video. :)
1-You have Ginseng Elixir,Aged Pirate Rum and Valerian root.Drink them whenever you obtain them,they will give you permanent skills. 2- You have also obtained dead eye marking ability,try to use it. 3- Try to craft legend of the east satchel as soon as possible and optionally camp decoration upgrades 4- Take the poster on the wall in mail office for hunting challenges 5- Instead of pausing the game for map there is a quick way on the controller 6- There is a wild Perlino Andalusian in Roaneke Ridge waiting to be tamed,you will love it. 7- You can store your unused guns in weapon locker at the camp
I mentioned it in one of your earlier video, you will want to search the house of the gunslinger Emmet. Where you blew up the manure pile. I think your game glitched because you couldn’t get in the house. Either that or it was footage that you cut out of the video. It’s not actually necessary for the progression of the game play but I think you will want to find an item there.
I honestly didn't enjoy fishing in this game until I changed the controls. The reeling just felt awkward, and a button hold made the process much less annoying. I'm so into these videos, super can't wait for more :)
Always keep steelhead and salmon. They render "succulent fish" meat, which is the most nutritionally beneficial fish meat for both Arthur and the camp. Any other species are worth more in honor upgrades when you throw them back.
With fishing you gotta do the old Mario party N64 hold the trigger down use your palm to spin the r stick while simultaneously flicking up with the left stick quick and then down
Definitely not... Rotating with your thumb is far easier and you're supposed to hold the rod (left stick) upwards when reeling in a fish, same as real life. Pulling the rod down creates slack and just makes it harder to catch it because you're letting the fish stay deeper in the water.

I think you may have missed the tutorial message during the train robbery. Now you can individually tag certain spots of multiple enemies in DeadEye. So that hold up situation at the end of the episode you could have, for example, targeted all their heads or gun hands in deadeye and killed them all in seconds .
Just wanted to make sure you didn't miss this as its one of the most enjoyable and unique aspects of both Red Dead games!

A tip while fishing: when a hook a fish, press the analog stick up and down to quickly bring in the fish. This is especially useful when reeling in legendary fish. Go to Gill Landing on the shore south of Horseshoe Overlook for a stranger mission related to legendary fish.

2 tips for long distance travel, if your on a quest with one of the gang you should be able to just hold the run button when on a horse and you will keep pace, also if you set a destination you can use the cinematic camera to auto run.

39:10 Story wise the distance between places like Valentine and Rhodes or Rhodes and Saint Denis are supposed to be far apart, that is shown by the time in game, 1 hour in game is one minute in real life. So a ride from Valentine to Rhodes may take 2 to 3 minutes but acc to the game's time it took u 2 to 3 hours so... Ya u put some distance between Valentine and Rhodes just fyi :)

pretty sure you noticed that your deadeye is working differently but i don't think you saw when it changed, in the last video when you robbed the train, at the part where you save Sean it upgraded your deadeye, you now have to manually "tag" targets, you can still tag multiple targets before firing, while in deadeye tap R1 to mark up your targets before pressing R2 to fire
also, a fun useless tip/fact, charles is a tracker, in nearly every mission with him he will use his tracking skills to track or follow someone, if you use your eagle vision you'll see the tracks he is tracking and sometimes get a slightly different dialogue
To reel faster you can change the reel button in the options also while you reel tilt the left stick down periodically like wait a second each time you do it itll pull the fish towards you making fishing way faster.

While riding a horse at a gallop, like when chasing the train with the Anderson brothers, or in a horse race if you pat your horse every three to five seconds it won't lose stamina as fast. Start patting it when you hear it start breathing hard.

If you go into the game settings, you can set up the fishing mechanic so you can reel in just by pressing and holding "square" as opposed to rotating the joy stick. Much easier. Really comes in handy when fighting the larger "legendary" fish species.
Making it easier is for losers
I think you kind of have to imagine that the map is not 1:1 to our world, Valentine and Rhodes are not "neighbouring towns", they are in completely different states in the game lore, even the climate is different and people have different accents. Developers kind of have to make the map represent larger space than it actually is and have interesting locations packed closely enough so it doesn't feel empty. The same goes for the quest when you go fishing with Jack, even though you are like 100 yards from the actual camp, you have to imagine that it represents bigger space, otherwise the Pinkertons would find your camp a long time ago if they were already so close to it.
Make sure when you beat the whole game do not skip credits

Your deadeye got upgraded, whenever you use it now, you have to manualy tag the target ( I don't know wich button on the cotroller, pc player here and then it's E). I noticed you just go into deadeye and shoot without tagging ( it works but is less effective)
Hey just a tip but when you set up camp somewhere, you can cook meat from animals you kill and stow it in your satchel for more health when you need it. Haven’t seen if you’ve done that yet. And when you’re in dead eye mode you can mark your target with the R1 button before you shoot them too. Haven’t seen you do that, either. Don’t know if that’s by choice though

I think its R1 on playstation but you can mark targets now in Deadeye like you could before it just requires a button press now instead of tagging automatically
This is hands down the best part of the story lol
You can automatically follow the road to the waypoint just by tapping A if you’re in cinematic mode. You should try that.

Cooking your own meat will replenish your cores quicker, especially seasoned big game; minty big game replenishes health to golden core, oregano big game replenishes stamina to golden core and thyme big game replenishes dead eye to golden core. Your horse’s disposition can be dependent on their health status.

I'd recommend to start collecting herbs and cooking at campfires. I also recommended to collect feathers as well.
Just a heads up, since you've unlocked the "New" version of Deadeye, you can manually mark the enemies in deadeye now by pressing R1 when you target them during deadeye in order to shoot multiple people. Not trying to backseat game, just noticed you missed the tip it showed to do so in the last video. :)
1-You have Ginseng Elixir,Aged Pirate Rum and Valerian root.Drink them whenever you obtain them,they will give you permanent skills.
2- You have also obtained dead eye marking ability,try to use it.
3- Try to craft legend of the east satchel as soon as possible and optionally camp decoration upgrades
4- Take the poster on the wall in mail office for hunting challenges
5- Instead of pausing the game for map there is a quick way on the controller
6- There is a wild Perlino Andalusian in Roaneke Ridge waiting to be tamed,you will love it.
7- You can store your unused guns in weapon locker at the camp
I mentioned it in one of your earlier video, you will want to search the house of the gunslinger Emmet. Where you blew up the manure pile. I think your game glitched because you couldn’t get in the house. Either that or it was footage that you cut out of the video. It’s not actually necessary for the progression of the game play but I think you will want to find an item there.
I honestly didn't enjoy fishing in this game until I changed the controls. The reeling just felt awkward, and a button hold made the process much less annoying.

Always keep steelhead and salmon. They render "succulent fish" meat, which is the most nutritionally beneficial fish meat for both Arthur and the camp. Any other species are worth more in honor upgrades when you throw them back.

With fishing you gotta do the old Mario party N64 hold the trigger down use your palm to spin the r stick while simultaneously flicking up with the left stick quick and then down
Definitely not... Rotating with your thumb is far easier and you're supposed to hold the rod (left stick) upwards when reeling in a fish, same as real life. Pulling the rod down creates slack and just makes it harder to catch it because you're letting the fish stay deeper in the water.

Rhodes is about 60 miles from Valentine (horses in a canter travel about 20 mph and it takes three hours in game to ride from Valentine to Rhodes)
