In this video I touch base and walk you through step by step on how I go about sterilizing my CNC-Q2 Tattoo Machine. The process in which I take is purely chemical so over me trying to explain how I do it here in the description, it would make more sense to watch the video where I walk you through the entire process I take each and every time I do a tattoo.

Any suggestions for lubricating the motor?
Great video and I know it's for demo, but there's a couple things that I would suggest. First I would place the parts on new toweling between each cleaning stage. I would also suggest finishing with an isopropyl alcohol spray vs. the wipes, as this would provide a thorough finishing "rinse". I also just wanted to mention the part about the use of bleach. It's something that you might want to do so carefully, as bleach isn't friendly to aluminum, which the body of the machine is most likely made of. Great video! 🤘🤘

I have a new video coming out soon where I explain a bit more on what I use to sterilize my gear. I don’t use bleach to sterilize or clean anything. I’d maybe use a bleach solution to clean the floors of the shop but that’s probably it. Haha
I also agree! Each stage should definitely have a new napkin to sit on over the previous from the last stage. That’s good stuff.
My new video I’ll do better on explaining all of the in betweens and nitty gritty as well.

How do you sterilize the Stigma EM125? I cannot figure out how to take it apart or if it needs to be sanitized by hand
Great video! I do the same except I completely saturate the broken down machine with cavicide and for the motor I obviously don’t spray. Once it has sat for five minutes (kill time) I then take my towel and spray it to do the wipe down.
is it safe to use madacide wipes for phase one for cleaning the metal inner part and metal grips of a rotary pen machine?

Can you do a video on cleaning a Dragonhawk Mast Fold 3 Pen that to my knowledge doesn't have Disposable grips
The Mast Archer 5Star has disposable grips but I'm unsure the sterilization requirements in the state of Missouri.
I'm not wanting to have to use an Autoclave and use test strips bags that I have to send in to weekly have a lab test spores in autoclave. Just seems very expensive
Can it be autoclave? If so what parts of it?
Great video once again! Could you do a video on the inks you use and what colors are good to start off with? There’s a lot of brands and colors/sets and it can be overwhelming for a lot of people including myself.
I understand how that can be. I went through a point where I couldn’t decide which ink to use until I knew what I wanted.
I actually have a video lined up where I show you inks I use and why. I will go ahead and release that one ASAP.

So are you still using it autoclaves kind of confused now I don’t know anything about sanitizing tattoo equipment or anything like that it was just something I was thinking about getting into now is tattooing so I wanted to make sure I’m doing things right and not pass on BPP or cause any CC or will this method suffice to completely sanitized the machine without an auto claves I’m just a little confused

Can you do a breakdown video of why using alcohol isn’t enough? I’m Canadian and we use CaviCide (which I’ve found is pretty standard in most westernised countries), but in the UK I’m finding everyone just uses regular store bought alcohol to clean their machines between clients.
I know I'm a bit late for this video, but do I understand it correctly that if you wipe it off and do all the steps you did in the video, I won't need to use an autoclave? thanks a lot for all the great videos!

Yes after every use. You don't want to potentially pass harmful bacteria and viruses from one client to another or yourself.
The bleach doesn’t damage the machine?
Hey! Thanks for lesson!) What about contacts on machine and battery? It's also can be contaminated.... but this liquid chemicals can transmit electricity. Nice work!
I consider everything contaminated even if it wasn’t touched. It’s just the way I view it.
So with everything being contaminated I wipe down with Super Sani Clothes and I use Cavicide to submerge what I can.
With a chemical approach I can really work the chemicals into crevices and spots that I wouldn’t have been able to do otherwise, and using the correct chemicals for this process is everything.
Overall with a chemical approach you can get far more precise and clean every single part of the machine, batteries, and any other component that would exist within the setup.

awesome video , takin care of your machines - but i doubt people do this steps at all hehe - i think 80 % just vipe it off , clean the grip fast with some alcohol and think they are good to go . a person who does many tattoos over a day would not have the time to do all this in between clients `` but they should `` , but really good video man thumbs up
Yea I have thought about how long it takes but for me 25-45 mins of sterilizing my machine and ensuring it’s done correctly always will win over rushing on any part of the tattooing process, which includes sterilizing.
I have a pair of Q2’s. So when one is sterilizing in the Chemicals, I am using the other and I use that cyclic workflow to stay doing tattoos on a timely manor.
@@DanielYuck is there any other brand similar to clorox ? there are aswell sani cloth with bleach , would that work aswell or would that ruin the color of the grips ? sani cloth plus is another 3min time on that
@@Denka187 I personally use Super Sani Cloths for phase 1, phase 2 I will use clorox or lysol wipes and phase 3 I use alcohol wipes.
There are Super Sani Cloth equivalents but that would depend on what the wipes themselves are designed to disinfect. Some are for medical use, some are for house use, etc. I think a big factor would be chemicals and kill times but if we get chemicals that target what we need and more we will be good. As long as the wipes are made to do what we need them to do.
A Super Sani Wipe alternative in my area would be a highmark disinfectant wipe which have a different kill time but still get the job done correctly. I got these at office max incase anyone wants to know.

Hello Daniel! I have a tattoo machine from Dragonhawk MAST ANCHER. As a beginner use it for fake skin. Is it necessary to buy a clivan for the grip, or i can also clean it with some kind of cleanser, (when i tattoo on REAL humman skin...)? THANK YOU

@@veganize Μοst of tattoo artist they clean properly tha grip, wrap it perfectry and then go....But just to be sure, buy a dry heat clivan, put it for 30 min on 90 celsius then clean it again with special wipes , or cavisite liquit, then wrap your mashine...Or, buy disposible from dragonhawk. They are availble for mast ancher on their website. If you buy another mashine make sure that the company has disposible for that particular pen.
@@mikezaimis Thanks for the info. I saw that they have disposable grips but they're not sterile so they'd have to be autoclaved/sterilised even though they're disposable.
@@veganize your wellcome, they have 2 non disterilised in the first package,Don t use them on real skin. Only in fake skin if you whant. BUT they also have on their web. I think that they are sterilised...Am not sure...We have to ask.

Can’t u clean ur machine this way, suran wrap ur grip, tape a paper towel on then wrap it with grip tape and then when ur done tattooing just take it off then repeat the process but not have to constantly clean the grip cuz it was protected by the plastic underneath or no?
It's standard practice to clean any medical device regardless if they're protected or not. It might seem like over kill to clean things this well, but you're responsible for keeping your clients safe, and if there's any chance that you might expose them to some potential disease, you should eliminate it. Also giving your clients peace of mind is part of being a good tattoo artist.
This is actually a great question!
For me personally I consider everything contaminated! Even if it was not touched by any fluids or anything I am still considering my tattoo site contaminated.
With that headspace I am always sterilizing and wiping everything down after each and every session. From my furniture to my machines, everything gets wiped down.
After each and every session I break down my machines, cold sterilize the entire body and autoclave the grips. It does not matter if any fluids actually touched my machine or not. My headspace is still that after the session is done the machine is contaminated and MUST be sterilized before using again. It does not matter how well it was wrapped, the machine would still need to be sterilized.
The reason behind this is many but some of the most important is we as the artist aren't out here spreading anything and or potentially ruining someones life. Sterilization is a very very big deal and should not be taken with grains of salt.

Take a step back. 1st and foremost, Don't forget you came to me and asked a question, not the other way around. 2nd if this is your logic do yourself and potential people you will tattoo a favor and do something else thats safe.
Regardless how you feel about it you are wrong, point blank period. This is NOT up for debate regardless how you're feeling. Any good artist will conduct themselves in a similar manor as we have stated here for you.
