“It’s time to say goodbye to the mpc1…but not before I cook this bitch”
😂 exactly
Lol
🤣 Right. I'm like "Reason? Oh I rox with the beat though..."
@@BigCore- th-cam.com/video/usMXn_hJzWw/w-d-xo.html 👊🏻
I'm glad there are still some very good boombap beat makers out there like you keeping the genre going strong. Maybe one day, boombap will grace the billboard charts on a regular basis again.
I’m not a big fan of trap, even tho there’s some really dope lyricists doing trap.. but the majority are not, and there’s where money is.. but one day we’ll get back up there 💪🏻
I like boom bap but it's a thing of the past. It's archaic at this point.
Nah, it’s not a thing of the past, maybe on the billboards.. but there’s still people keeping it alive.
Boom bap is an art
@@LawrinMaxwellsmpc500 And trap is not?? Dont make stupid ass comments
“It’s time to say goodbye to the MPC one” closes video with pure fire 🤣🔥
Sorry about that 😅 Now it’s in the hands of someone who hopefully treat it with respect
You got the Premo chopping on point. The sample isn't exactly a Premo sample, but the chops remind me of the late 90's early 2000's. I could hear OC on that.
Thanks 👊🏻
Pro: sell it before the mpc one + comes out (already confirmed look it up, 3 new models the mpc xl, mpc one +, and an mpc mini, wich will run different software.) The one will drop in value immediatly when its known a new version comes out so selling now is not a bad idea, you can always get the new one. Cons: mpc 3.0 software and hardware version could be mind blowing, I see vst3 and the force arranger coming, and probably some new fx and instruments but above all, a better more logical workflow.
In the same boat because I use my maschine plus the most (started with maschine 1.0 , only had the mpc 2 years and it was just unusable in the beginning, now it's all good imo. But its because I have so many hours on maschine and got that muscle memory on point, that's the main reason. Its what's most important imo. Knowing your gear inside out...
Thanks for the heads up, didn’t know that. Yeah, hard to compare the amount of hours I have with the Maschine.. but the mpc has a steeper learning curve in my opinion. Who knows, I might be missing out what’s coming, but at the same time I’m comfortable using the Maschine and get the beats done, and I’m sure NI will move forward with the standalone gear in the future, so for now I’m happy using Maschine Plus.
I love my mpc one. So many possibilities. It does have a very steep learning curve. I'd love to try the maschine plus, but its out of my price range. The new MPCs don't seem too exciting imo.👍
My MPC One is 🔥🔥🔥🔥 It does so many things, and for some one that is not a real musican, it's dope because i can create sounds and disguise samples so dope!!!
It’s a nice piece of gear.. not for me tho. Whatever works, hardware/software..
how can you organize all that shit? projects, sequences, tracks, programs, clips....too many of those things make me crazy. it's really dispersive and zero intuitive for me.
😢 I could never say goodbye 😂 Sorry for ya buddy
It’s not a bad piece of gear, great value for the price.. but it’s just not for me
@@BoombapArt that’s understandable!!! Lol
I’ll buy it from you!!!! Just let me know when and where you’ll have it posted on one of these sites
I agree. I bought the one plus a month ago and I still can't get all of the expansion packs loaded correctly or get my free plug in. Plus all the menu diving is a huge pain in the ass! Lol
I'll just keep rocking with my Maschine mk3 komplete kontrol MK2 keyboard. It has just a cleaner and faster workflow and buying and loading expansion packs are easy to do and get right to cooking.
So what are you gonna use instead ?
Bury me with my MPC. 💯
If I can’t get it sold I throw it in there.. just let me know when! Jokes aside.. whatever works and get the stuff done! In my case, I’m better off with Maschine!
Exactly 💯🤣💯🤣
Why maschine?? Cause I’m in the process of purchasing my first
A more streamlined workflow in my opinion and the learning curve is not as steep. Sure, Akai got way more options for standalone devices, but I would pick Maschine Plus over any MPC all day every day. In the end it’s all about how you connect with the tool you’re using. If you have the chance to try both out.. DO IT!
I totally overstand your point of view as I can relate with using Acid Pro and premiere pro back in the day and now all I love and need is Davinci Resolve so I might take your advice or just buy both lol but thaaaanx for taking time to reply
Ive never had an mpc until last summer ,i got the mpc one and i love this thing.
That’s good 👍🏻
Same for me. Never had an MPC. Was using Maschine since 2013. Bought a MPC One last month and have been loving the hell outta this thing!
@@Jae_MaV i had a maschine first also. Warranty ran out and the encoder parameters where jumping all over. Drove me nuts trying to chop samples
I never had an mpc until I got one either
Honestly you make some heat off the mpc one but to each his own whatever makes you happy at the end of the day
Thank you, but I couldn’t cope with the workflow, it drove me nuts. I’m happy using Maschine Plus and SP404MKII
Say goodbye to the MPC One; Say hello to the MPC XL 🤣😂
Nah, I still have the 2500.. and if I want some headache I’ll bring that one out. 🤣
😂😂😂😂😂
Agree better is coming. Give it to someone who needs it.
As long as they pay for their needs I’m all good. 💰
what’s your mastering chain for the mpc one? How do u get the beats to sound so thick
I’ve sold the MPC One so I don’t remember, but I’m sure I used the chain I’m always using, some compression, EQ and Limiter
Thanks for posting this. It’s great to hear alternative viewpoints. I recently got a sp404 mk2 to pair with my Digitakt. I’ve grown to love the elektron workflow which has made the sp a little more challenging since it’s so different. But I’m finally figuring out how to get the chops the way I like and it’s actually really encouraging that the sp is one of the samplers you want to keep.
Thank you for watching! 😁 Oh, that’s nice.. for some reason the SP makes sense for me and my workflow even its limitations. The Digitakt is on my wishlist.. so there’s where my money will go if I decide to grab a new sampler/groovebox.
I remember first watching this video thinking you were crazy. Just picked up the Live 2 and it’s dope af.
Glad you like the LIVE 2. For me, it doesn’t matter which one.. it’s the workflow that I don’t like. I’m happy with my Maschines and SPs
@@BoombapArt I admit, it needs a few improvements. Maybe linear sequencing. But, I’ve used Akai products my whole life. NI is dope too, but I could never figure out the ecosystem lol.
No matter brand, all have some areas they can improve. Instead of chasing the “perfect” gear, it’s better to master the gear that makes you inspired to sit down and create, not the gear you spend an hour troubleshooting.
@@BoombapArt 💯
This is really cool, thanks! Just one question: why is everything on the submix, and not on the main output?
Thanks 👊🏻 hmm.. what do you mean?
@@BoombapArt Whoops! This comment was on the wrong video, sorry!
No problem 👊🏻
You are not for the mpc one my friend 😊
Nope..
I have had MPC 1000, 2500, Honestly NI hardware and software is way more intuitive. Akai just been around longer so they hold a little more weight.
I still have the 2500 laying around, but I agree.. the Maschine workflow suits me better!
Goodbye MPC ONE 🦑🐋🐬🐟🐠🐡🦈🐙🐚🦀🦐🐳🦑 Not sure why but here are some random sea creatures.
I might try the hybrid setup before I let it go.. love the sea creatures 🦑

SCORPIOS IS FOR YOU 🔥 PAM
Sold mine a while back and I focus on mostly heavy weird industrial noisy shit - think wanna be headless horseman - but got an Octatrack and love it. Do miss MPC sometimes but tbh I have the software which it’s like, why would I buy a device that has software for the cheap? So I spend that money on something unique I can’t just pull up in a DAW - ya know, for weird shit to put into the DAW
I see. I would rather have the Octatrack to be honest. I can do the same with Maschine Plus, but I don’t use it with the software.
@@BoombapArt the OT is my fave piece of kit alongside the AnalogFour
Would love to mess around with OT or Digitakt, and I also wanna add the Heat to my setup.
Give me that mpc man. Fuck gotta wait years before I save up for that lol
I wish I had that kind of money to just give away.. 9-5 worker, father of four kids.. money out, money in.. and this TH-cam thing doesn’t pay much
@@BoombapArt hahaha we musicians. I literally thought you had that money 😁
I got the mpc 1 and L2 at same time.I got rid of quick i dont.
Just my Opinion MPC L2 is the king of standardalones to me just off the speaker.
I havnt used headphones since i got it.
So.. maybe had been another story if I bought the L2 🤷🏼♂️.. still not a fan of the mpc workflow tho.. but I still have a 2500 laying around if I ever feel ready again to figure it out.
the Akai Professional MPC Studio Slimline, whatever they call it, looks cooler than the One
May look cooler, but are they better? Are they standalone? If it wasn’t for the mpc workflow I would’ve kept the One.. doesn’t matter if it’s a bit chunky as long as I can get my ideas down quick n easy.
I didn't like the CONSTANT menu flipping. And I don't think u can upgrade hard drive to make the cpu not get ate up so much, but I like to layer things together so yea, it's kool to make little jams on the fly but even that's a pricey ass sketch pad
A very expensive sketch pad.. specially when I can do the same stuff with Maschine.. and I didn’t like the menu diving. 👎🏻
woah, how'd you get that old boom bap full sound?
Good question.. sample & sound selection ?🤷🏼♂️
@@BoombapArt i see, how can i have a good selection? that seems hard
There’s no right or wrong in music production, but I pick my sounds after I chopped up a sample, so for me it’s the sample that guides me what type of sounds I want.
Close the MPC door on the way out
Check ✅
What’s wrong with MPCs?
I don’t like the workflow
the same here, i'm going to sell it. it could be a great sampler device, but every function sucks for the weird and too dispersive workflow. it is inaccurate and confusing; sequences, projects, tracks, programs, clips, aaaaaaaaah stop, that’s enough! it's worse than a daw. i return to my tr8s and really enjoy it, it's totally another thing, but i work well.
the worst aspect is the way in which it saves and generally manage samples and all those things in the storage and the terrible dislocation of each content. it's so difficult to have a precise overview of the archive.
Never used Trs-8, but I’m sure it’s as easy to use as MC101. I prefer the Maschine workflow, so easy to lay down ideas, arrange a track. 👍🏻
@@BoombapArt tr8s is a jam beast
🔥 chops! Big uppp
Thanks 👊🏻
I sold mine, because l could never figure out how to get my sounds on separate midi channels..Everything was playing from the same midi channel when l connected it to cubase..
I see. I never tracked out my beats by stems.. I made all of my adjustments in the box and tracked out a stereo track 😊
Btw.. would you recommend Cubase?
@@BoombapArt
Yes, Cubase's sequencer is the easiest in the world to use...
@dannydaniel8975 that sounds promising. Thanks 👊🏻
The Solution Simple: Dissolve Part in Cubase
Man IO keep coming back to this Joint. I can hear a dope ass rap on top of this. Lil Kim or 50 cent would rock this. Or Black Thought from the roots. Are those samples in that box or did you flow that all your self. If so man damn you got a nice flow there
Thanks 🙏🏻 Those samples doesn’t come included.. I chopped up a vinyl record! 👊🏻
It sounds like a good friend to me
That the MPC isn’t for him?
This beat is awesome
Thanks 👊🏻
What are you using instead?!
Maschine Plus and SP404 MK2 mainly.. but I have some other stuff laying around like MC101, MV1, PO33, MPC2500..
MPC One for life 🧬
Not for me.. not right now.
why are you getting rid of it? what don't you like about it?
Coming from the Maschine, the workflow is so different.. and hard to grasp the menu diving, sub menus etc.. the overall workflow doesn’t click with me.
@@BoombapArt ok. i heard others say the same. im new to music production (standalone)...and i purchased the mpc live 2 about 6 months ago. i know enough at a base level to produce a track...but there's so much to learn. despite, im still enjoying the process. so i do understand it can be difficult to learn...if you're used to doing it a certain way. thanks for your response!
After 6 months, 5 times used I managed to cook up a beat every session, but the amount of time it took to navigate, remember buttons etc.. got very frustrated to be honest. I guess the MPC workflow is not for me. If I didn’t have any experience with other standalone devices that I use regularly I would’ve spent more time with the One and eventually learned how to use it.
@@BoombapArt i know what you mean. im considering purchasing an SP404 mk 2...and the workflow looks so much cumbersome than the mpc! lol im holding out to see what the rumored mpc live mini looks like.
Sure, the 404 MK2 are limited in some cases, but now with a proper pitch, step seq, chromatic mode and the dope fx etc it’s the most versatile piece of gear whether you make beats, or just processing sounds or wanna live perform from the unit itself or run another device through it. 👌🏻
what was the point of this
To make a last beat before I let it go
MPC ONE ALL DAY EVERYDAY ;) Nice Chops man!

The MPC was my last purchase, I’ve been using Maschine, SP404’s, MC101 and I also have a MPC2500 laying around. I don’t like the mpc workflow, and thought they might have “improved” it and made it easier with the One.. but no! That’s why I got rid of it. The MPC workflow is not for me. Thanks 👊🏻
You have great ears for the samples
Thanks 👊🏻 after 27 years of chopping samples I guess I’ve developed some kind of skill / trained my ears 😁
@@BoombapArtkeep up the great work brother

Why u get rid of it. Are u using something different?
The workflow doesn’t suit me.. I use Maschine on a regular basis as well as SP404 MK2
Is it for sale?
Already sold
So I’m curious, what exactly is the problem?
The overall workflow..
@@BoombapArt okay, I’m about to possibly go ahead and get the mpc one because I want to get away from the computer 🖥️ and the overwhelming amount of plugins I’ve acquired so I definitely am try to explore all options and the pros and cons, what’s your biggest challenge with the workflow? Thanks 🙏
@@Jesoteric I totally get that, it’s liberating getting away from the computer for sure. I would say the MPC One is definitely worth its price tag and all the features you get. For me personally as a Maschine guy having the Maschine Plus I don’t really need the One, for me it’s just a workflow thing, not as fast chopping samples, get ideas down (personal preference). Then you have the SP404 MK2, also a nice device.. but sure a learning curve when it comes to the sp workflow.
What are you getting instead?
Imma stick with my Maschine Plus & SP404 MK2
@@BoombapArt that's really cool. I've considered getting a M plus. Are you able to use the Kontakt guitar library or 3rd party Kontakt libraries in standalone?
The M+ is nice, but you can’t load third party plugins.. if I haven’t missed something! I would love to have like RC20 in standalone for some texturing.
I would love to have it do a contest or something
I wish I could.. but money out, money in. I’m blessed working with brands, but Akai is not one of them.

Salute from LA!🫡
It’s not a bad piece of gear by any means, it has pretty much everything needed to do “what I like to do”.. except the workflow stinks compared to Maschine and it doesn’t really have a song mode. 😢 Maybe should give it a new try at some point 🤷🏼♂️ 🫡 from Sweden
Boom bap? That's just '80s hip hop.
Oh my bad. Can you show me a similar 80s hiphop track.
Don’t knock the MPC one or the MPC one plus the brain is exactly the same as the MPC live minus the accessories the luxury of having a battery and the outputs in and out the MPC One can make you the money to buy you an MPC live an MPC Live II or an MPCX or anything else it’s not a toy…. It’s a tool just like the rest of them. They’re only as good as the person working them.
Yeah right 😅nice cook up though

I don’t have the beat anymore.. it’s gone! I deleted all the beats when I sold the MPC 😂 No money to be made here
Stop frontin.... You're not gonna get rid of that thing. Too dope of a machine.... Unless you're going for an X SE.
It’s sold.. and I bought a new lens for the camera 🎥. Will probably not get another MPC unless Akai have one to spare..
Now I want one ,let me have yours please

I really don’t get the point of this.
Fair.. watch the whole video for context. Merry Christmas 🎄
Maschine: Welcome back home sir!! 😊
You know it! Much love 👊🏻
Why’d you switch back?
I never gave up the Maschine, but curious about the workflow on these newer MPCs and thought it must be faster and less wonky than the older ones.. sure, it’s faster in terms of processing power, but I can’t deal with the overall workflow. Probably spent more time clicking buttons and navigated menus/sub menus than making beats. It’s just not for me! I can do the exact same things on the Maschine.
Getting rid of the MPC ONE. Just purchased it to actually get some views for a change... Lol
@@man1theyoungshaman haha 😂 .. wish it was the whole truth. The videos I did with the MPC One doesn’t have that many views, except for this short tho.. lol.

Nice scratch pad at the hotel when you're on a job only to load up on your MPCX or Force or maybe your Maschine when you get home. Can't be on dimensional. Keep ya Logic or Pro Tools handy on your laptop with a 25 key controller while cooking at the hotel room. Young man, folks still writing on 2000's 3000's SP-1200's....learn your craft.
It’s more than just a sketch pad, can’t be one dimensional. Not the right tool for me. I’m 40 years young with 28 years spent making beats.. and imma keep doing my craft.

Me too.. clickbait with no context 😂. However, this was the goodbye beat.. and I talk about it in the full video. Don’t think it’s a bad device, it’s just not for me simply put.
How comes you say this?
Never felt comfortable with the One.. and it doesn’t have anything special in terms of features, wonky workflow compared to Maschine

It’s not a bad piece of gear, I just don’t like the workflow..
But,,,it s for you
Mpc is a great device but not in this era of music production its super limited i think mpc is only useful for creating ideas it’s kinda like a play thing and you cant do everything with it especially in this competitive era many producers making millions only with laptop i personally choose push 3 (controller version) because it’s less limited and you can use 3rd party plugins with it and control you daw, finger drum and etc at the same time
