Great series on the G1000. Coming from a corporate flying job of 41 years using old steam gauges until we bought a Challenger 604, I never had the privilege of using a G1000. Now playing in the simulation world this is a great learning experience. Thanks for the great narrative and thoughtful presentation.

I actually don't have any real-world experience with the G1000 - I just dug into the manuals and did a lot of experimentation/practice in MSFS. (I do have pretty extensive experience with the GNS 430, and various forms of glass in a few different aircraft, so that helped too.) I *think* you can delete a direct fix by deleting that fix (the only fix) from the flight plan page - but I haven't tried it. The only other thing I know to do is to select another direct to point (or load an approach or other instrument procedure) With the working title upgrade, you can now re-direct to your original direct fix (giving you a new direct course if you've drifted off course,) but I'll have to play around with it to see if you can delete it. You may not be able to.

The channel is geared towards MSFS users, as I am not a big X-planer operator myself - but X-plane operators should be able to utilize much of the content, assuming the avionics are working the same (i.e. they work realistically in both programs - which, I think with Working Title's upgrades to the GNS 530/430 & G1000, both sims are on similar footing with those units now.) Thank you for your outstanding videos and content. I need to ask a question about the MS Sim. I tried to buy a copy but I can only find "xbox" related versions anywhere. If this the softare you are using or is there another PC-based version? Where can I get it? It's not available through MS store or the market place.

Any version you purchase those ways should work on PC. The marketplace refers to in-game store you can use to purchase 3rd party content like additional aircraft and airports.
I guess I should be more careful with my titles... That would be an exciting 55 minute video on altitude hold. Would probably need to throw in some music on that one! 😆

G1000NXi mod unit will be standard from SU10 as is in the Beta Notes!

Pretty much. Functions don't really change, but it works alot better.
Worth noting that the nxi is now the default G1000 for the game.
