MSFS - How to plan and fly an IFR cross country, part 3

This video is part 3 in a 3 part sereis on learning how to plan and fly a cross country trip under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR.) IFR cross country training is where you combine all the skills you learn during your instrument training, and use the in practical real world IFR flying.
In this video, we'll fly the third leg of our IFR cross-country flight - flying from Mean Arkansas back to Addison, TX in the DFW area. On this leg, we'll focus on using soley GPS navigation for the departure, enroute, arrival, and approach phases of flight.

    Excellent video. I am an instrument rated pilot but I'm no longer flying except MSFS. This CDFA technique is new to me since I got my IFR rating in 1997 and the Advisory Circular that describes it was first published in 2011. All we had was the Dive & Drive (although they didn't call it that) or timed methods. The CDFA method requires more planning but it looks like it should be a more stable approach. I'm anxious to try it. Are you by any chance a CFII? You seem very knowledgeable and an excellent teacher.

    In a pressurize cabin if you fly higher that the required attitude and there is a breach in the cabin, you will die before the plane runs out of gas and crashes.

    There are acutally speed limits for aircraft too! Below 10.000ft airvraft are not to exceed 250 knts groundspeed. Also to the sonic boom, here in germany we sometimes have news coverage about one or more state hearing one or multiple incredibly loud explosion noises, which usually turn out to just be eurofighter taking off to intercept radioless aircraft entering german airspace!

    47:58. I understand it’s good practice to set heading bug to the final runway heading but does the plane need this to maintain approach course if AP is in appr mode on an LPV approach ? If it does, what happens in a crosswind; do you have to keep adjusting the heading?

    Exactly what I have been looking for, thanks very much for creating this outstanding content! I lived in Little Rock from 1996 - 2005. When I was in Arkansas I knew someone who was learning to fly and he was taking lessons in the Pine Bluff area. The Pine Bluff airport looks like a great place to practice!
