    i agree completely, and it's also my favourite exercise, it makes so much difference. that's what I was lacking in my course, for some reason this exercise was a warm down, not a warm up (don't understand why). yesterday i did this exercise for several minutes and omg it helped me a lot. my voice was warm, deep and strong. i was able to sing my practiced songs! for the first time almost flawlessly.

    I figured it was safer to spring this on my dogs than on my wife, so I tried the bubbles this morning on our dog walk. They were between confusion and panic as to what might be wrong with me. This exercise is not easy to do, but I finally got the hang of the bbbbbbbb part, then tried to add the humming underneath. Further practice is required.

    • @SingeoOfficial
      @SingeoOfficial  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's great that you are getting the hang of it. You're correct, it's not easy, but if you're already making progress, then you're well on your way to being a bubble master... and soon your dogs will likely be jealous. :)

    Why is the raspberry a better exercise than actually singing or humming the notes?

    • @SingeoOfficial
      @SingeoOfficial  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Each exercise has different benefits. When you sing that bubble sound some air escapes out of your lips but not all. With a hum the air/sound come out the nose which is a different effect. In order to that bubble to work you need a certain amount of breath and its a great exercise to teach your body what that amount of breath feels like !

    • @SingeoOfficial
      @SingeoOfficial  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      practice practice practice- sometimes you need a little more energy/breath to the lips. Another tip is to lift the cheeks just slightly with those fingers! Let me know if that helps!

    Ik this is a really old video, but I was wondering if someone could help me-
    No matter how hard I try, I can’t do the bubble… I’ve tried so hard, I even tried the fingers on cheek thing. (I did exactly what she said too) and I still can’t do it- I’ve been trying for a week or two now, and I can’t get it.. my mom won’t pay for vocal lessons if I’m not going to preform, so that’s not an option- does anyone have any other suggestions on what to do to make it easier? Or do I just have to keep trying till I get it? lol

    So is it okay to have air in our cheeks when doing this or is that why u need to push your cheeks with fingers ? Also is the purpose that by constricting lips it creates more resistance for the air to come out so it strengthens our vocal muscles? Thanks!

    • @SingeoOfficial
      @SingeoOfficial  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Some air in your cheeks is okay but you will find that that is unlikely to happen if you have the bubble working the way it is meant to. Its a tricky exercise to get the hang of! You have my email so feel free to send me a vid if you want to see if you are doing it right ! Because you need a certain amount of air moving out of your mouth to get the lips to vibrate like that it helps you learn how much air is actually needed. Because not all of the air escapes when you sing that exercise, it has this back pressure effect that is super great for the vocal cords - pressure from below as the air come out of your body and pressure from above as it bounces back - creates a super safe environment for your voice to warm up and work :)

  • @debdischer4913
    @debdischer4913 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    What am I doing wrong, I run out of bubbles a lot sooner than when I sing or hum. Is my breathing off. Doing this exercise with sound I only get short spurts. Humming I can go so much further. What am I exercising with this exercise?

    • @SingeoOfficial
      @SingeoOfficial  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes! You need to provide more breath to get that bubble to work! Think of the bubble exercise as costing more breath than words or humming. Practicing this exercises not only helps you to create awesome breath/vocal cord balance it also sends some of that breath energy back to the vocal cords (because it can't all escape out of your mouth) which helps your vocal cords to vibrate more easily! This will make creating sound easier on your voice even though it feels like more work from the breath perspective. With practice, this does get eaiser!
