Nice video but could you not use the matrix function instead to use just one channel?

So I was pulling out my hair trying to figure out what the heck was wrong with my mic audio going into vmix. I was running mono in and changed the setting as you instructed and got a similar improvement. It's phase cancelling when running all instead of separate.

So I'm assuming that you want to be able to have guests on and be able to separately be able to change there audio in post? Cause cant you just choose rodecaster mic if that's not the case?

So the rodecaster outputs a mix to the vMix audio input. It includes all of the audio mixed in rodcaster. This then becomes part of your master output and the master feeds the recording. Vmix has a neat gimmick on their "vmix call" input. You can designate that your callers hear the master so they hear the entire show on their end, but it does a mix-minus on their own voice so it avoids feedback. But because the mic channels in the rode are mono and the output is stereo, the mic channel gets a bit of a "phaser" sound. So this solution allows you to remove one of the competing mono channels (left or right) and helps eliminate that annoying phaser effect. Does this address your question? I really appreciate the comment and thanks for watching.

There is a help file at rode.com that will show you how to setup your RCP in VMix, Audacity, Audition and other DAWs to allow you to record each input on the RCP separately without any loss in quality. No need to make it hard on yourself. Someone else has done the hard work.

It would have been nice to see a link. I am on the rode site and I can't find the help file anywhere.
