Hey bud - what firmware do you have installed on the Rodcaster Pro (current is 2.1)? I've used vMix call going through my Rodecaster, but in the latest firmware, you now have a mix-minus setting for the USB channel - which takes care of this issue. So I have Host mic in channel 1 - vMix calls (max 3 guests so far) in the USB channel - which provides audio only through headphones to Host - it does not send back to vMix. Make sense? That worked for me out of the box - after i updated to latest firmware. I am currently looking for a solution for a talkback function, so the control room can communicate with hosts and guests, without it going 'on air' - and your solution might work.
Yes, it's fully up to date. In fact, the version I have is 2.1.1. I have continued to have a problem with the RCP and vMix call. I do have mix minus on but the only audio input I can create while using the RCP in vMix is either multirack or the stereo mix. Both come in on the same vMix input as my mic track, and then come back into the RCP through the USB channel. What this means is that the caller is being sent the Master out of vMix and of course the master includes all of the output video and images but also all of the audio inputs which are turned on. Since my mic input includes the USB channel feeding back into the Master it includes the vMix call audio and creates feed back on the callers device. If you have any better way to resolve this I'd like to update my video with it, and of course credit you with the find. Thanks for the comment and for watching.
Just... Thank you! THANK YOU!!
This was outstanding! Thank you so much!
Thank you
Awesome explanation mate!
Great 😄

The talk back solution it what the Zoom Podtrack P8 solves with its on air buttons. Hopefully Rode can help.
@@Bluegrassbulletin I need to test this. I had a caller complain too. Hmmm.
Here is the fix for the echo
