Agreed. It is totally worth it. Beautiful work and the contrast I'm just makes the room pop. But i got arthritis. I remember watching him do it during a particularly painful flare up. All that squatting and bending had me wincing in sympathy.
I remember these vlogs like they were yesterday. So AMAZING how you transformed that space. All the hard work you, Annalise and your little helpers put in and now you have this stunning kitchen. At the time I watched all of these. Looking back today you realise just how amazingly hard you and Annelise worked ( not forgetting the boys of course) !
I remember the pure awe I felt in seeing all the skills and different tasks you could do yourself, self taught, trial and error, yet still achieve this beautiful kitchen in not only a tight timeframe and the deadline of a promised Christmas dinner, but also the transformation of what was once a derelict old bakery, your first home and sleeping room, your first everything. And of course I was awe just how much trash came out of this tiny little room in the end. Kudos and hats off to both of your optimism and hard work! Looks absolutely smashing.
He built a little breezeway to connect the house. It’s really worth a watch of their older videos to see how he brought it all together. I think it inspired his addition off the room with the slider door.
@@arnicepernice8656 in this video you see him rendering the outside of the hallway that links the kitchen to the house. This was just breeze blocks and glass on both sides butted up to the walls of the two buildings.

Plus all the pointing and the lesson in rendering from your neighbor. How far you have come. It's funny how it all comes back to you. The materials being delivered at the wrong end of the drive and your neighbor helping move them with the tractors. The living room furnace delivery and installation Annalise's pure joy with the delivery of the chandelier. Preverbal children. It's so damn cool... And we all got so damn old. Love the recap. Thanks. There’s only one thing to add to your gorgeous kitchen. The icing on the cake, a hanging pot holder above the island to display beautiful pots, hopefully copper ones in the future. That would control the clutter underneath. Have you considered hanging pretty curtains to hide the items underneath? Your hard work paid off. I absolutely love it!
You know what Dan , my late hubbie , who was from Leeds , was a red seal chef over here in Canada . He too redid our 1880 house all by himself and turned out awesome . English chef boy's rock don't they . You remind me of him a ton as he has a wicked sense of humor and dry whit . Thanks for that , a fan from Canada .

I kinda forgotten some of all that you have had to do restoring and creating this chefs kitchen,. Yes it was indeed hard, pain staking physical work making your vision complete, but it was so worth it! I really enjoyed going back and seeing it, another great video Dan.

Quite the Kitchen transformation. Will be the talk of the area when the Chandelier is noticed, or how about those new Appliances. Hard work does pay off and the ideas depicted in the videos are though time consuming are cost effective. Great job Dan, his Wife and Children now have an area to have Breakfast with warm the toes in floor heating. Great thing about in floor heating generally runs off a battery so is one of the heats that still works when the power goes out.. Like the Vlog for it's simplicity!

I love before and after's. Was hard to imagine an actual kitchen would rise out of all the mess you had to work through. But, you did it. God is the head-contractor and builder, I am sure he gave you lots of intuition and determination to build your kitchen and follow through to finish it. Some people start things and never finish, you start, finish and go on to the next project. Hope you do a montage of your studio/roof top terrace oh and your front room/laundry room. Well done you!!!

I ran so fast to tell my mom to come watch this episode because the kitchen is one of my favorite kitchens ever and I wanted her, no, NEEDED her to see it. On top of it being such a beautiful kitchen, the hard work and love that has gone into making it, it's just so lovely to watch. The joy Annalise has when Dan finished something new, brought me warm fuzzy feelings ❤❤❤
