- We got a little bit of a different "extra video" this week. Just for fun!
Let me know what you thought of the movie and if you had any thought about it (I am much harder on documentaries). Oskar wasn't allowed to see this movie however. Normal video will come in a couple of days as well! Enjoy!
Follow the original uploader: @Godefroyryckewaert
Thank you so much for the support. Really loved your insight on this. Very interesting. Glad to see you noticing the small details 😊
Indeed it’s more of a « fantasy » Viking vibe than a historical one. And it’s nice to see you know the difference and could enjoy the film for what it is.
Thanks again for the reaction video. It was really awesome to watch 😊 and loved the way your pronounced my name 😅
Thank you for taking time out of your day to watch my reaction! ☺The movie you've created is truly something special! 🙏
Hey, next time you have a project like this in the works, call her for consultation ;)
I've lost count of how many times I've seen this fan film because to be quite Frank it's perfect and I think that it's really cool to have someone with your expertise looking at it and sharing your thoughts about it
It is a very good one! I knew it was special enough to capture my reaction :D thank you so much for your nice comment!
No movie is perfect, and ever will be but this was pretty good, I'll give it that.
Possibly Viking Logan is using the older runes because he is older. Like modern Logan is a couple centuries old in our time.
That makes a lot of sense
that's cool
The older Futhark. My theory is that even in the late Viking Age the older Futhark was still used in ritualistic, ceremonial and serious official contexts, while the younger futhark was for writing common messenges. Just like Greek was the official and academic language in Rome while Latin was the common tongue. And same as the French was the dominant academic language in 17th and 18th century Europe.
@@marcusfridh8489 Interesting idea and I agree with it.
I can give another example of the use of an older language for ritual purposes: Church Slavonic. This language is based on Old Russian and is now used only during services in Orthodox churches.
You are good. I've watched dozens of these reactions, and you're the first to point out and discover everything I saw, too. You even guessed Magneto when the rest couldn't figure that out; and the bone claws. Great job on the history and runes.
Thank you so much! :D Ooooh cool to know I have an eye for details as well then!
@@mooseladyYour eye is sharper than Logan’s claws that’s for sure. You not only caught the Odin reference with the lost eye but noticed he was Magneto so much faster. Even I didn’t know he was supposed to be Magneto until he put his helmet on, and it took me reading a couple of comments on the original video to get the Odin reference.
14:10 - 14:14~ you are absolutely correct with the initial observation about Logan's bone claws. Yes, even the Director admitted this. You are one of the few who correctly identified that it's indeed Logan's bone claws.
That would explain why Magneto has no effect on Logan. If it were adamantium, then Magneto would have easily lifted Logan off the ground and welded him like a ragdoll.
@@Mangolite Thank you so much, your comment made me laugh my arse off.
Awesome!! I was hoping to find a reactor who’s familiar with the Nordic context. If you hadn’t done this, I would never have known that the rune at the beginning spells wolf. Absolutely brilliant. Thank you so much. 👍🏾🙏🏿
Yeah I think that was really clever! Thank you for your nice comment! :D
I like the fact that the soldiers were all pros and that they held their own, even tried to bottleneck him. Also how they kept shooting him on
the “high ground” because of his height. Also how they chopped off his bone claws and it took time for them to grow back.
Should be a series or movie with a bigger budget or maybe this Wolverine vs Prey on Hulu
Fr most villains get washed these guys wanted that pay lol
Not wood, BONE.
Yeah! These actors were completely amazing, it wasn't any of that "you guys are just extras go stand in the background". All of them surely wanted that bounty! :D Thank you for your comment!
First of all, you are a lovely, inciteful woman. And this kind of content is right up my alley. I'm subscibing right now.
I have been looking not only at this fan film for a sold week now, but also all the reaction videos to it. And this is the most educational and best one so far. Your incite into the X-Men lure and your expertise in viking history is perfect to learn from. I did not know what the ruin on the ground at the beginning meant. But wow, thank you for showing us that. I'm American, but I live in Estonia now for 17 years. I love everything medieval and Nordic. So I'm hoping to learn more from you.
welcome
Thank you for your kind comment - little do you know that I have written all of my bigger thesises about Estonian history! :D I have a veeeery soft spot for Estonia, there will be content about that history on this channel as well. So I am very happy you get to live there! Thank you so much for your kind comment! The rune in the beginning was such a cool touch!
@@mooselady Can't wait for that. Also, I have visited Sweden several times too. Love it there.
Wow I cannot believe you guessed Magneto I've seen so many reactions to this now I've lost track and not one of them guessed it was Magneto
Haha well... when it's the x-men, it is depicted as this uber-god and he starts talking about how humans are not worth as much as them and Logan should join him.. I got a sneaking feeling. 😂
Awesome reaction. Definitely got a new subscriber. I love you pointed out that the clothing would be much more colorful, than the traditionally depicted blacks and grays. And the song at the beginning ins Danheim - Reida.
THANK YOU! OFC IT IS DANHEIM! It sounded sooooo familiar to me. 🤣It would have been very creepy with colourful clothing since we are kind of used seeing the opposite. But a cool contrast for sure.
you are so fun to watch a movie with, thank you
thank you! :D
LOVED this video SO much! Very educational, but also very entertaining. And I was amazed at the acting, choreography and costuming aswell in my reaction video.
You have a new subscriber 🤘😁
This is a great resume for everyone involved in making this gem. Marvel take notice.
100% agreed!
Interactive knowledgeable and pretty glad i clicked on this video
Thank you! :D
19:52 - 20:06 ~ now I am definitely one of your subscribers. You are definitely correct. You are one of the few reactors who correctly guess this before the big twist reveal. Excellent lore insight ^_^
I am by no means an expert on the X-men universe, but I have done quite my fair share of nerding with that in my youth as well. Haha thank you! :D I thought "how embarrassing if I'm wrong now" since the scar-ax-man was not Sabretooth.
Interesting archeological input! Subscribed!
Thank you! 🤗
@@mooseladyvery astonishing 😮😮. I’m into Viking things etc
Just as a little detail about Logan being short, comic accurate Logan is only 5'3". I don't know what that is in CM.
Oh I had no idea that he was also short in the lore. Thank you for teaching me that part! :D
@@mooselady It was the only inaccuracy with Hugh Jackman since he's 6'3".
The adamantium is also what make him weigh 320lbs at only 5'3".
What a cool video. I am so glad I found you, I absolutely love your content. You realise you can't take the summer off cause I need something to watch on my holiday 😂
Well, there will be another video this week besides this! I promise you I am not taking a break quite yet! Thank you so much 🤗
It's awesome. Probably the best short film I've seen in 2024. The thing that I noticed, although this was based on Nordic lore, this must be a loose take on it-a fantasy setting, because the weapons are anachronistic. Logan was using a kopis, a Greek sword and one of the mercenary was using a longsword that definitely not Norse or Celtic in origin.
I have watched a number of reviewers commenting on Logan, the Wolf, and you are the first I have found to comment on the Elder Futhark runes. Keep in mind Logan's 'age'. He may have had these tattoos for 200 years, although he would probably have to keep renewing them as they kept healing. I'm glad your first thought for the stranger was Odin, (as did I) and immediately picked up on the Magneto vibe. ...too many others opted for Sabretooth before the reveal. It has been decades since I read Snorri and the Prose Edda. I'm going to have to take him down of the shelf.
Snorri would probably be happy with that! Thank you for your kind comment! :D
Good take, good reaction.. Yes, as a fellow archeology enthusiast and teacher, I am subscribed here now ~
Oh wow thank you! Enjoy :D
Very insightful reaction! I checked the movie before, insanely good and love your reaction to it - you point out many things I didnt even notice really
Thank you so much 😍
Jag tror detta precis blev din mest spelade video på din kanal!! Grattis!! 🔥 Väl förtjänt!
Tackar! 😻 När man får några haters så är man på rätt väg! Haha!
re: The accent. The creator of the vid (Godefroy) said they are all French actors in a reply elsewhere.
Edit to add: Great reaction and information on accuracies, and the inaccuracies not mattering much because it's a movie. :)
OOOOOH! Yes that makes sense! :D I could only tell they had another accent than me (who has a swedish accent in english). Thank you so much for making me being able to put that one to rest!
No problem! :)
About the runes thing, one of your viewers pointed out the Comics Logan is two centuries old. So maybe its usage of older rules is culturally correct for Logan The Wolf, coming from an ancient culture, dont you think?
As for older or younger scripture: Nobody knows how old Logan is at that point.
OH YES! Actually very good point! I was so wrapped up in what was happening that I forgot also - since Logan is immortal, who knows when he got that tattooed or if HE simply preferred those runes! Great observation!
Logan being the rogue Fenrir that Odin(Magneto) couldn’t tame and turn to his side is a good reference to both the comics and Norse mythology. Subtle for those that don’t also know both lore.
Absolutely agree! It is such a nice web of lore! :D
@@mooselady Wonder if Professor X is leading the Vanir against Magneto’s Aesir? Which mutant would fit into the role of each old Norse god?
I have so many questions from being a nut for history and mythology.
Here´s an idea: the earliest mention of Odin that we know of is from 725 A.D. as a rune on a skull, which means that in this special universe Magneto could well be the origin of the legend of Odin 🙂
i already knew that magneto-odin connection the first time ive watched this film, since odin had a weapon that cannot miss (gungnir) its kinda appropriate to associate magneto's magnetic manipulation as that of odin's uncanny precision when it comes to weapons. btw i was waiting for someone to point out that "odin" reference, thanks for this video.
Yeah it was SUCH A COOL TOUCH! Thank you! 😊
It was soooooo good. I just wish the claws were more bone looking somewhat like in the movies
You the caught the bone claws and the magneto reveal more then most channels 🤣 loved your reaction so cool to see a real historian review this film well done 👏 and this film is amazing!!
@MooseLady
The song in the beginning where he’s at the fire is from Danheim. I forgot the specific song title, but I had it saved on my Spotify and I recognized it too. I got excited when I found it!
It's very good, but Odin should be wearing a grey coat. He was called Gråkappa now and then.. :)
The detail of Magneto being portrayed by Odin or vise versa is a detail lost on most reactors including myself.
I think that how long Logan lives he may have been born in a time where the elder runes were more common.
You and another person in the comments have made this great observation! Super true! We have no idea when he got tatted up or if he just simply himself preferred that runic system! Great observation! :D
Nice reaction you have a good eye you realized he had his bone claws most reactors didn't Wolverine is one of my favorite X-Men characters
This definitely inspires me to make fan films !
Loved this reaction, and your insights! And I'm in no position to judge, as I am not Scandinavian or Japanese, but your comparison of the Elder futhark vs the Younger futhark reminds me of Hiragana vs Katakana (I'm not going into Kanji...that's a whole other beast) The former is just...more beautiful and interesting aesthetically, even though Katakana is so useful for it's simplicity of lines (or maybe it's just as a student, Hiragana was actually EASIER to learn, because the shaping was more distinct for each character, whereas Katakana was just...a few lines here, a few lines there lol) Also, as someone old enough to remember teachers rolling in that old tube tv on the cart ( we all know the exact cart lol), you would have been, and I'm sure are, an awesome teacher! You seem genuinely excited about your topics and insights, and that's EVERYTHING for students. Oh, and this fan-film is amazing, right? Have a good day :)
Your reaction to this is definitely my favorite.. and I have seen many reactions at this point
Thank you so much ☺️🙏
Enjoyed the extra content, I have seen this a few times, and wanted some better context. Your a beautiful young woman,
Thank you! :D
knowing that the deadpool movies started with an "accidentally released" youtube short-film i feel confidant we'll get a full length feature film with more viking x-men. its just a matter of time!
Great content mama! Keep up the amazing work 😎.
I would've thought the MCU Thor movies would have inspired more fans to research Norse mythology, but you seem to be the only one that got the Odin thing. It's fun to watch the other reactions, but only yours actually teaches. Brava.
Love your accent, new sub
Thank you! My english-teacher would be proud! :D
It’s about time they cast Logan properly. In the comics he’s 5’3” tall.
If I am not mistaken, when carving runes there where rules to save space on the stone. If they where to carve my name "Peter" for example, they would carve "Ptr", as Pe sounds the same as just P. The same with Te that sounds the same as just the t. Also, I recall they could also carve two words together, so if I lived back then and carved "Peter ristar dessa runor", I would carve it like "Ptristr dssa runor". as "Peter" ends with an r, and "ristar" begins with the same letter. I can not remember if they removed the double s in "dessa" to save space as well. If I miss remember please do correct me. (Peter ristar dessa runor = Peter carves these runes)
I live your knowledge of the Xmen !!! Bravo
i'm not sure if he's sabretooth.
When you mentioned how Magneto is like Odin, would you say the same about Logan comparable to Fenrir?
Didn’t the Norse have a martial art called “Glima?” I wonder how accurate the fight scenes are to it.
❤❤ great reaction 😁
It was a good day when the teacher wheeled that cart in in elementary school.
LOGAN: VIKINGS WOLF 🐺
Nice reaction🎉🎉
Thank you 😊
@@mooselady keep with the good work, you detect all the details and explain everything in perfectaion ❤️
I knew you would enjoy it 😊
I indeed did! Very cool!
Did you notice Magnetos helmet mive at the very end ?
Nuevo subscriptor, muy buen analisis
That was a cool video, need to go and watch the uncensored one now. I don't mind magneto in this one, though I feel loke would be a better magneto. Or i don't know anymore, there are aspects of magneto that could be applied to odin, I think its the personality of the wise man that doesn't fit magneto. Cause even if magneto is smart, he ain't the wise one in xmen. Good review though, Its worth my sub, always like when some history hits my feed. Älgdamen?
I agree that the Elder Futhark is more beautiful. Nice to not be alone in thinking that. 😂
Begining is berserkir ritual to pump up for battle
Full movie, Full movie, Full movie.
Black Sheep?.....lov3 Chris Farley
My favorite thing about Wolverine/logan is when people realize that he doesn’t stand taller than 5’5” 🤣
I admire your necklace. It's very pretty!
Thank you. It's made by a creator called NordlichtCrafts 😊
😍🐺👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Their accent sounds Finnish or perhaps Estonian.
Superintressant kanal :D
The accent is french 👍
Lost me at censoring.
Get the emojis put my god
Ulfhednar Lokan
i guess logans tattoos would heal within minutes, and the carbon stay under the surface of the skin, butr fade after several hundred years. maybe. who knows ?
You are very beautiful 😍 ma'am !
An "archeologist" with that haircut has no credibility whatsoever.
@@Halo_Legend a woman with long hair in braids 😳 how awful. It must really affect my academic career a lot... 👀 Have you tried walking out of your room and put the halo down for a moment?
@@mooselady Pretty low you felt the need to reply in such a childish manner and use ad hominems when faced with nothing else to latch on to.
And you know exactly what I mean but try to strawman your way out of it.
Your haircut is taken straight out of the pseudo-historical viking shows like the Vikings. You liking those shows to such extent casts pretty reasonable shadow on your motivations and opinions.
Maybe take this as a lesson in humility.

What does being an archaeologist have to do with any of this. What a dumb title
🤗 What part of "this is for fun" did you not understand? It has to do with that all other videos on my page is educational and this is very much just for fun and not my normal content. Now you go and create your own videos and titles you sour little person. So go go! I'm cheering for you 🤗
Found the guy that doesnt know what archaeologists do lmao
You think you are special. You're not

Даже большие каналы смотрели этот фильм без всяких блюров и смайлов...
Почему ты то всё замазала?)
I thought it was also very clever of the film makers to bring in the conflict and fight between Fenrir and Odin and transpose it to a fight between Wolverine and Magneto. 🤌🏽
