And Forspoken, holy shit. That's the definition of phoned in. Those actors and that dialog are like AI text to speech. Does anyone actually enjoy what they're doing?
So one big thing about awful modern game devs is they use their art as a secret vehicle to express their issues. Instead of going to therapy. While old game devs used art AS THERAPY for themselves and their consumers. They got to get away from their problems, create art that others could enjoy with them. It was a beautiful symbiotic relationship. New game devs don't care at all about the customer. Half the time they hate them 😂

@@KopperNeomanI don’t think it would have helped the game at all for Shepard to be anti-gay whatsoever lol. It's that modern fantasy aesthetic that DEI pushes everything towards. It has the whole mexican orcs happily farming, or the dwarves with braided beards happily serving bread vibe that the new dnd art has... everyone is in a group happily doing/talking about mundane things, rather than kicking ass, killing things and looking cool
These new generation of developers not only self insert their characters, they bring their whole fking real world environment with them when the point is to create different worlds for you to get immersed in.
Because they CAN'T imagine themselves out of the modern world. They shouldn't be writing anything. They are useless. It still boggles my mind, even though I know how it happened, just how it happened!!!
I would say it rather leaks realism, just a common note, most of fantasy games had realistic behaviour and character actions, while having unrealistic atmosphere/techs/whatever as an artistic trick/technique, to make accents or to gather attention of public, that are reading/playing. Most of the lost era fantasies were like that, if you replace every fantasy aspect of its reality, you would get a character, who behave the same, just in another setting/surroundings. Speaking of modern - you'll get a situation where the plot may never exist then, or the characters became stupid & boring without hi-techy/magic stuff, the only thing that makes them "special"
@@Sentinel82 What an antimony to have, sure sure. Not an objective conclusion, just another fantasy. At least i knew at some point how to write, and i am still seeing almost every single one of the plot writer's tricks.
Blimey, what the actual hell? I recently started playing old Xbox games, including Halo 3: ODST. In the FIRST cutscene, Dare, a female captain, commands one of the other squaddies what they're doing. When he goes to instruct the others, one of them says: "What the hell kind of armour was she wearing?" To which another squaddie says: "I dunno Mickey. I wasn't looking at her gear ;)" Then proceeds to fist bump him. Holy jesus, scenes like this wouldn't even get close to passing HR now......
The sad part is that there were multiple characters in ME2 that were bisexual. The difference is the writing team didn't shove it in our faces, and all of those characters were cool and compelling. They didn't need to spoon-feed us ideas in a game to get us to have some kind of real life epiphany. When I found out Kaiden could swing both ways, I was like, "Nice, but respectfully no thanks" and moved the heck on.
Fun fact one of the games in this video is called forspoken. And at one point the girl you play as throws a brick at a guy and he yells “aw she bricked me”.
For me the most hilarious thing is the thing with the push-ups - not only she is doing them wrong (butt too high), but also not doing 10 of them. Like the Californian writers thought that in a world where people are walking for miles in armors with their equipment on their backs doing 10 push ups is something to "sweat a little".
It's machism really. They hate the limitations of the female genom and so aim to replace it with as much masculinity as possible. And every time they can.
We live in an extreme gynocentric society that keeps trying to gaslight people into thinking it is the opposite. The devil's greatest power is delusion.
How is it gynocentrism when the first 3 Mass Effects had brilliant female characters? The problem is extreme political correctness leading to the general infantalisation of society and creative stagnation.
The generation of people, who thinks that Mass Effect had a good dialogue system has grown up and now spreading this bullshit all around the internet. It's so over, bros.
That dialogue sounds like the writer just droning on about themselves and what they think makes them quirky. Oh and their barista friend who can't stop complaining about how everyone does coffee wrong. Jesus, how long before the purge kicks in?
The dialogue in Dragon Age Valeguard reminds me of what Jack says at the beginning of Legion's loyalty mission in Mass Effect 2: "If you screw with my head, made me nod and smile at everything... I'd rather you blew my head off. Let me die as me."
Did they seriously spend the time to put dialgue options about coffee in that game, not only that but it sounds like they made someone at the office try coffee for the first time and that is the most cringe thing I've ever heard
With all due respect, the 2010 clip was the ORIGINS of this madness that we’re going through.. Which was feminism! They gave women unrealistically strong characteristics, and now we have them GENUINELY believing they’re tougher than men.
A conversation about coffee in a game is a waste of time. No imagination whatsoever. They only talk about what they know. Same with comics rn. The dialogue is all about coffee or eating. This is what happens when we don’t allow talented people to create things.
It's the Millennials that wrote this dialogue. The same generation that takes pictures of food that they made and they call it "adulting". A writer at Bioware probably just learned for the first time how to use the Keurig machine in the lunch room and then decided to write her experience in the game
@@finkamain1621 lol corporate jobs are seriously a waste of time. The budgets get so high because they have a coffee runner for the coffee runner while the programmers use AI to write scripts.
It's just embarrassing that they thought this would be okay to put in a franchise like Dragon Age. It feels like some cringe fanfiction. And now that I think about it, it probably is! Since it happens with sequels by new teams with none of the original creators involved. If you know a bit about the fanfiction scene, changing characters to LGBT is a big thing.
it's almost like they want to rile up and shake off their old fanbase. weird, not like dragon age fans were even pinned as the based internet gamer shtick either.
Back then I could threaten NPCs in the most vile ways possible, but now when I do it they’ll say a watered down gooner version of the dialogue that wasn’t initially shown on screen…
Why do they all sound like they're from LA? Even the characters with English and other accents have the speech patterns of having lived in LA for a decade.

It might seem crazy what about to say, but I've played Genshin Impact before (HEAR ME OUT), and the dialogue options literally were: A) Reply in a humbly manner B) Reply rudely/sarcasticly There's no consequences for it, but that alone gives us players to decide how we want our main character to behave or be like. Not like stuck in the same persona. That's how you make a dialogue interesting
I don't know if someone noticed it or not, but older gen games were on point with the dialogs, say what needs to be said and that's it, and now a days due to all this gender politics and stuff, the characters in the game starts to yap about absolutely nothing, like in order to be politically correct or socially acceptable (by literally every single individual which is never possible) the developers can't even give a personality to the characters of their games now a days, nor any actually immersive dialogs or even the depth that every other story lacks now a days ("like oh you cant add profanity coz people might get upset"). Veilguard is like sitting in an HR meeting; that's not fun, that's work, and it's the part of work you dread because it's that time of day where you are not in YOUR element- you're in someone else's, pretending, to amuse people who don't know or have any involvement with what you do.
And Forspoken, holy shit. That's the definition of phoned in. Those actors and that dialog are like AI text to speech. Does anyone actually enjoy what they're doing?
As yes, can't wait to spend $70 on my power fantasy of being a Hispanic teenage lesbian taking to a magician about coffee.
Half the time they hate them 😂
In veilguard, every dialog option has the same outcome
Really? I didn’t know that, so ridiculous, so what’s the point of giving you an opinion?

Being a hero in an RPG means absolutely nothing if you don’t have the choice to be a villain.
I guess, he is a villain, death is not the worst thing to face, neither the worst sin. Imagine being a human, who made woke-AI for Google, so the world became like that. It is worse than killing a nation just for fun.
Great original thought! Very insightful
I love the quote of the movie Riddick "evil will be defeated by another kind of evil"

Mass effect: no filter and freedom
That weird game: talk about coffee with a gay dude and 2 girls
Christ! Those were girls?? 😂
@Syrock1 oh god i just realised it now
Almost total freedom. Sadly, there's no room for Shepard to dislike Steve and Samantha's sexual proclivities. Then again, that game had so much content that things needed to be shaved off to cram it in.
@@Syrock1 they all identify as girls. Except that tall one, she is 'they' or something
@@KopperNeomanI don’t think it would have helped the game at all for Shepard to be anti-gay whatsoever lol. Whatever “freedom” you think is “sadly” missing there would be widely considered the right choice to make by people to not have included canonically into the games. Especially how it was done without being so in-your-face about it like Veilguard did, as Steve and Traynor are optional romances. You don’t like gays, bro?

Blimey, what the actual hell? I recently started playing old Xbox games, including Halo 3: ODST. In the FIRST cutscene, Dare, a female captain, commands one of the other squaddies what they're doing. When he goes to instruct the others, one of them says:
"What the hell kind of armour was she wearing?"
To which another squaddie says:
"I dunno Mickey. I wasn't looking at her gear ;)"
Then proceeds to fist bump him. Holy jesus, scenes like this wouldn't even get close to passing HR now......

the old dialogues were so simple but so good compared to what we have in games today
Normal scriptwriters versus men+@11y ill people.
This includes a lot of modern TVs and movies.
Dragon Age Veilguard is supposed to be M for mature but the dialog sounds like a NickJr cartoon teaching kids about sharing and their feelings.

It feels like dialogue from a kids show.
Gynocentrism has gone way too far. The pendulum is swinging back right now.
You understand. Most people don't even know what that word means... which is probably the greatest problem.
@@dragonmage7980 That is exactly the effect of gynocentrism because women want security.

Aint this time Andy didnt even need to talk. He let the games speak for themselves. Well played my friend, well freaking played.
More of this...
The generation of people, who thinks that Mass Effect had a good dialogue system has grown up and now spreading this bullshit all around the internet. It's so over, bros.
The "they/them" subplot is really what drives it all home.
That dialogue sounds like the writer just droning on about themselves and what they think makes them quirky. Oh and their barista friend who can't stop complaining about how everyone does coffee wrong. Jesus, how long before the purge kicks in?
The dialogue in Dragon Age Valeguard reminds me of what Jack says at the beginning of Legion's loyalty mission in Mass Effect 2:
"If you screw with my head, made me nod and smile at everything... I'd rather you blew my head off. Let me die as me."
And guess how Jack ends up in ME3 if you don't save her?
Perfectly encapsulates what's gone wrong with modern culture

LGBT characters aren't the problem, shit writing and forcing an ideology on people are the problem. ME3 let you be gay and nobody batted an eye.

It might seem crazy what about to say, but I've played Genshin Impact before (HEAR ME OUT), and the dialogue options literally were:
A) Reply in a humbly manner
B) Reply rudely/sarcasticly
There's no consequences for it, but that alone gives us players to decide how we want our main character to behave or be like.
Really sad to see how the games are turning now a days.
