But also, Tommy and Chris were keeping up as well! Everyone had so much energy in this track. This was frickin' awesome. thank you Connie!

This was the first SRV and DT song I ever heard. I had just gotten off of work and stopped to grab some beer. Got in the truck and when the radio came on, this started playing and I just sat there listening saying" Who the Hell is this?" Been a fan ever since. There are several videos where he breaks a string and performs a guitar switch without missing a note.

Love Little Sister with Jeff Healey in Canada. Stevie discovered Jeff in Canada and got him to play onstage with him. Jeff became famous and played with all of the greats. Jeff was playing in town at another club the night Stevie jumped on the helicopter and in the morning they were all stunned at their loss of SRV.

👏🙌🎸🎶‼️Another great reaction Lee👌and shout out to my SRV Blues Sister💙💙 Connie👋✌️. Yes Reece is beyond awesome🎹! He joined the group in August 1985 until the end. He brought so much to the table creating a fuller, richer sound and able to take solo leads giving Stevie a much needed break from carrying it all himself. As good as Reece is, he even said he felt like he had to step up his game after joining.
Right after you said Tommy and Chris are holding it down Stevie broke a string which you couldn't hear but had to see, (I don't think you saw it) He kept playing until Rene brought him a replacement. You saw the smooth switch out which resembles a top tier race car pit crew!

After Stevie died, the band took a break for awhile. It was a very hard loss for them. They came back together as the Arc Angels for a period; Reese is now playing with Joe Bonamassa, a great blues guitarist. I think they've all done some collaborations since DT broke up, with other artists as well as each other.
The connection you feel to Stevie, I think many of us share. He put so much of himself and his soul into his music, that his presence and energy still resonates on some strange, deep level in these performances. Listening to Riviera Paradise from this live performance in Austin, feels as though Stevie is still sending out his beautiful message through his music.

For Stevie Sunday... you'll LOVE not only the passionate guitar solos, but the vocals... in "Ain't Gone 'n' Give Up On Love" (at the Capitol Theater, 1985). An SRV original, and Stevie to the core!
Thanks, L33, for treating us to your reactions, and especially those to this man's gift. (I love Reese as well, and Tommy and Chris, too. Once, when introducing Double Trouble after the addition of Reese to the band, Stevie ad libbed that they were now "Triple Threat" instead of Double Trouble.)

In 1985 Stevie and the boys were in the studio and somewhat stalled trying to record Soul to Soul. Stevie had wanted a sax player and a piano player for the Look at Little Sister track and Reese was contacted. Reese and Stevie knew of each other but had never met to that point. They completed 3 tracks the first day/night and 3 more during the second, at which point Reese was asked to join the band. Reese accepted and asked Stevie to let him know which songs he was expected to play on during live performances, to which Stevie replied; "Well , you're one of us now, so....all of them".
