- Thank you to our patron Harriet M for this amazing and inspiring choice for Stevie Sunday this week. This was an absolute joy to watch. Both of them obviously respect each other and I read up some quotes from Albert regarding Stevie and they were heart warming. Thank you for this Harriet!

Albert wouldn't share the stage with just anyone. They had a great respect for each other.
🎸Albert once told the audience about Stevie "aint but one white boy with a black daddy, and I'm his!" ❤ priceless.
*edit for clarity
Watch the entire session. It's incredible. Their interaction is awesome. Stevie was with his hero.
You can definitely hear the influence Albert had on Stevie.
Absolutely! You can tell he totally looks up to Albert and respects what he says and thinks. It's beautiful
When Stevie was starting out he hounded Albert to let him sit in and when he finally did the bond was formed.
This Sessions album is great not just because of the music but the little stories and comments they make to each other.
I get teary eyed watching Stevie play with his idol. Rest in peace Stevie we all love you brother.
Stevie couldn’t read music but his ability to write music and play the blues made him one of the greatest . “Riviera Paradise” is just beautiful. He wrote one called “Life by the Drop” about his addiction to alcohol. He almost died of liver failure and went to rehab. His ability to play the blues guitar just got better and we the fans were devastated when he was killed in a helicopter crash leaving Alpine Valley
Stevie has massive respect for Albert. Albert did not play with anyone. But he played with Stevie. He referred to himself as Stevies Godfather and Stevie was his white son
SRV ~ 🎸🐐 The goatiest goat in all of goatness
Everyone thinks Jimi was Stevie's main man, but it doesn't take a genius to see (and hear) that Albert is clearly Stevie's main man.
I’m happy to see that you are dipping your toes into the blues.
Check out 🎶Born under a Bad Sign🎶 from Albert King!
It’s a blues standard.
Just a great great Blues LP. Two of the best doing what they (and I) love. Check out all the cuts.✌️❤️🎶
When Stevie was a young teen he was in different bands and they would hang at famous Antoine’s bar where Albert King would perform. Stevie kept asking the Manager if he could jam with Albert and was told no, Albert was also quite grouchy about this kind of stuff but finally agreed to let Stevie jam. Well when Stevie finally got to play he played Albert every one of Albert’s own riffs and blew Albert away lol so they became very close freinds.
Stevie revived the blues during the 80’s and a lot of the blue’s greats were able to go on the road again. Stevie heard Albert couldn’t afford a tour bus so he surprised Albert with a new bus. SRV always let the greats shine and they loved him like a son ❤️
Jedi Master, and the young Padawan learner! The respect , and awe, Stevie showed his mentor , is how kids, one should respect the elders! ✌️♥️
One of my favorite SRV videos reacted to by my favorite SRV reactor. What could make a Stevie Sunday anymore perfect!!!!!
Oh by the way, I loved the bell last week to my being a new requester😂😂😂. That was as great!!!
Thanks Harriet!!! Great suggestion!
Lee, I hope you watch every song in this session. My favorite is when they do Texas Flood. Stevie gets lyrics jumbled up and just laughs and proceeds to kill it. Then the playing gets so intense, they both stand and at one point Albert has to shake his hand due to what appears to me as maybe cramping up. It is AMAZING!!!!!
I went to a show in Seattle about 1970. Steve Miller was the headliner, but they brought in Albert King as the opening act. All the white kids there to see Miller got an education in the blues from King.
❤❤❤❤❤❤💗💗💗❤🩹❤🩹❤🩹❤🩹🥲🥲🥲🥲 Best Blues Duett for ever ever recorded . Make me smile every time i listen to
Albert was a hero of Stevie's.
make no mistake, Albert King was SRVs biggest influence. The more you listen to Albert, the more you hear him is Stevie’s playing. SRV was playing a gig and Albert was playing down the street. Stevie steps up to the mic and told everyone he was leaving to go watch Albert, and they should do the same! LOL
It was those bends to talk . People talk about Hendrix but if you look Albert King truly strung his guitar upside down . With the treble up top he got vicious bending of notes . Stevie just learned to do that right side up 🫡
Albert King like SRV elude pure joy playing.Stevie rarely looks at his fingers.
You need to check out the whole video two legends just jamming away for 45 min or so
Stevie had special awe of Albert King. He was respectful with all of the old blues masters. I saw him play with Buddy Guy and B.B. King. With Albert Collins he just went toe to toe with him, respectful, but full-bore competition which absolutely brought out the best in both of them. Check them out playing Albert’s “Frosty”.
Absolutely two great goats! They loved each other.
The entire album is BRILLIANT ! I know all about SRV but didn't realize just how great Albert was ............ :)
It's worth watching some SRV interviews. Watching him talk is captivating.
That sounds like a fine idea, snoops. I really should
Albert cant stop grinning. Oh my goodness. This is so good. Both got amazing vocals and guitar picking. So blessed. More of this duo please.
Yes definitely check out Stormy Monday. The whole 90 minutes or so show is absolutely fantastic! Love the interaction between Stevie & Albert.
You have to watch the whole session sometime. So good!
Two goats 🐐🎸🎸
Chopping Wood! Those cats Chopped enough would to keep Siberia warm for two years! Great session, Great reaction Lee.
Their back up muscians are really good too.
Great choice. I have this on this DVD , of my favorites.❤
I used to have this on VHS Tape, Stevie used to hang out at Antoines in Austin Tx and when Albert would perform there he would hang out back stage , when he was like 16 years old so his brother says
Legendary Jamming , full off Respect of Both each other . They will never been forgotten
This brings me great joy 💖
This whole special, was amazing, Way to go Lee on this reaction my brother! ✌️♥️
Wonderful video - thanks for bringing it to me.
Stevie ❤😂😂🎉😢😮😅😅😅😊😊😊😂😂❤
everyone always dose BB King or Albert King we need to show some love for Freddy KIng, all of these guys are legends in the Blues, how about Have you Ever Loved a Woman, or any of his songs
Alberts Flying V is now in Joe Bonamassa’s hands and he played it a lot.
Joe Bonamassa now owns that flying v and plays it in the video filmed at The Royal Albert Hall .
Here is a good one to check out it is full of legends Albert King, BB King, Albert Collins, Paul Butterfield and of course Stevie it is Texas Flood I know you have already reacted to Stevie doing Texas Flood before but this is a great video
Two legends ... it had to be fantastic
Stormy Monday, from this session....no words.
Also Blues at Sunrise
Damn. I’m sure I saw those guitar necks start smoking. Too hot! Too hot! The whole band is sooo tight. Love it!
Hey Lee , loved to hear the babies in the background...keep on on keeping on brother!
Now young man head on over to Johnny and Edger Winters and the live performance of Tobacco Road 👍👍 I guarantee you'll like.
If you notice... Albert king is playing his guitar upside down 🐐🎸
No he isn't. He's playing an ACTUAL lefthanded guitar. Like I play. It's rather famous as well.
Albert could play with the guitar in any orientation. Right hand, left hand, upside down.......
Good stuff
Yeah, Bro I know where to go when I'm playing drugs. But how did these guys know where to go when they're playing? These guitars?Absolutely amazing
Meant to say drums not drugs.😁😁😁
Meant to say drums not drugs voice text picked itt up wrong sorry about that.😊😊😊😊
Does it get any better ???
Again , does it get any better ??
The Beatles could neither read nor write music but came up with super complex chords and timing
You need to go away back if you want to hear some really good blues
Yeah bro he doesn't even use a pick it's all finger picking
STOP SAYING GD!!! IT CAN ONLY HURT!!!
I could never get into SRV. Dunno…too rock oriented too popular. Hate me if ya wanna. 😮
Never liked King's condescending remark to Stevie. I always got the feeling that black blues men respected Stevie, but never accepted him.
