@@Narikeljinjira glad it’s not just me. The album sounds so washed out and lifeless, it’s a real shame because the band and the tunes are absolutely killer
@@Narikeljinjira I’m pretty sure it’s due to the meaning of the song. He wanted to show his life experience being a twin and did that on the album by playing two different times. You obviously can’t play two trumpets at once so in the live versions the other part is usually played by another instrument.
There is something about this song and performance that makes me feel the joy I feel with Ornette Coleman. It has a uniquely beautiful quality. Like a modern work of art.
You said you don't remember her name, then they remind you then you say I know it's Elena, come on bro instead of saying thanks for being reminded you turn into that, yeses people like you are something else
Thanks for watching! Be sure to subscribe to see more great jazz performances!
Christian Scott is synonymous with musical evolution.
Issa Rae's movie "The Photograph" brought me here. Such a smooth, sensual, and soulful beat.
This theme is a masterpiece, it's just some few years old and it's already a classic. Phenomenally performed! Very glad to be part of this generation!
He's putting all trumpeters on notice!
My GOD this makes my soul so happy. I can listen to this all day ❤️
this is better than the version on the album...but the best is the Tiny desk performance
Agreed!
Yes I can't figure out why the album sounds atrocious. Please don't get me wrong, I bought the CD a second time.

Actually she doesn't play this track this track is like a trumpet duet, the version w/ Elena Pinderhughes is in the NPR Tiny Desk Concert
You said you don't remember her name, then they remind you then you say I know it's Elena, come on bro instead of saying thanks for being reminded you turn into that, yeses people like you are something else

Why is the bass always so low in the mix?
cuz sound engineers don't know how to mix acoustic bass.
That moment when this song reminds me of Germany because when I was there, I listened to it everyday.
I just LOOOOOVEEEE this. I never connected it with the title, tho. It sounds like a 'contemplative' something. I gotta read the story behind it.
cool, cool, cool...

Am I the only one who's hearing a lot of radiohead in his music?
Uhmmm
He's played songs by them and Thom Yorke, I guess your instincts are justified.
Definitely found that too, while listening to the piano parts mostly.
