One of the things I loved about his game is that the devs had the balls to make the protagonists unlikeable yet interesting, not many devs these days are willing to do that.
In K&L 2, when you're trying to save Lynch's girlfriend in the apartments and you hear the C-Pop ambience in the background as you try to rush through Shangsi's goons, was one of my favorite moments in video games.
Yeah, the music in Dog Days was fantastic all around. I actually wanted to talk about both soundtracks, but couldn't really figure out what I wanted to say so I cut it.
Mine was when Kane pointed out the "Men in white" and how they fought like soldiers(pretty much the same part of the game). Really cool subtle storytelling.
Max Payne 3 and Kane & Lynch 2 were always so interesting to me because they felt like games inspired by media OF the time. Like MP3 always made me think of Man On Fire, Domino, and other movies like them. These 2000's fast and shaky cut movies with over saturated and insane contrast filters. Such a unique style to that era, and it's nice to have the variety when every game is always taking inspiration from the far past. That we see some inspired by current day.
When devs were more inspired to make good games with creativity and took chances. Now… the gaming industry is a mess and just about making money and pleasing investors than making games for the people
Kane and Lynch 2 always felt like a late 2000s Michael Mann film to me since the visual aesthetics reminded me of the hyper kinetic digital cinematography from his films such as Miami Vice and Collateral.
It just occurred to me why Kane's camera goes all wonky in K+L2. Kane has one eye. His depth perception is shot because he can only see out his good eye.
I have only one working eye, I'll say it's not the depth perception that gets you, it's the lack of a massive chunk of vision. (around 60 degrees less than 2 eyes IIRC).
Kane and Lynch was me and my brother's favorite game, Army of two was fun but playing this game with my brother felt like we were actually crime lords back in the day. So many nights of Mountain Dew, Pizza and bathroom breaks lol
Michael is completely different character 😂. Why do people have to bring up things that have nothing to do with the current topic just to praise something else?
Honestly I like Kane and Lynch 2. I can absolutely agree about the camera. It was wonky asf but the cut scenes were pretty good and the overall atmosphere of the game was pulled off pretty good with the music with lyrics I don't understand and the censored blurs with the headshots. Gritty and surreal not to mention if you had a buddy to play couch coop with it was fun. It was a wild ride with decent gunplay and I honestly think its underrated... And one of my favorite experiences on xbox360
I got clowned by gaming industry vets when I was working in QA for saying that this game was original and out of the box. i still think that this game was misunderstood and is a golden nugget. i don't understand the hate.
Gets thrown around a lot, but K&L deserves a remake with overhauled gunplay and the polish of the modern Hitman trilogy. Dog Days is really an adaptation of I've Seen Footage by Death Grips. Earned my sub. Competent editing, no political soapboxing, no cringe humor. Not a 3 hour summary. What video essays on the medium used to be. Hope this channel takes off, can't wait to see you develop your style and creative voice.
@@amazanta1605 agreed. I like both games. IO just didn't nail the gameplay as well as they should've. Dog Days played fine, but was very run of the mill for 2010. I just want a 3rd entry.
I had a lot of fun with Kane & Lynch on Xbox 360. My old roommate and I used to play it together. I remember the first time one of us got fooled by Lynch's hallucinations and started killing the wrong people as one of the most memorable moments on the console- "Dude, WTF are you doing?!" "They're cops!" "NO THEY AREN'T!"
It’s not impossible that a K&L 3 game could be made following the events of the 2nd game - even though the storyline really boxed them in and limits where the story could go… I’d imagine hijacking the plane and forcing it to land in South America could give them the necessary means to evade law enforcement. Then they could work for South American cartels for “just one last job” and who KNOWS where they could take the story from there
I have loved Kane & Lynch since before the release of the first one. I was obsessed with the characters and the story. Truly a great game, wish they took it further.
It was criminal that 2 player split screen wasn't included in the second one. Interesting note on the Steam page for the first one: "Notice: Square Enix has temporarily removed this title from sale to work on some important updates. Please check back soon!"
There are 3 video game worlds I have always been incredibly fascinated with and love dearly but sadly I know I'll never be able to explore it again with a new entry as all 3 franchises are dead in the water Manhunt(1) Forbidden Siren Kane & Lynch These 3 franchises have worlds that have left a distinct mark on my brain that I always remember fondly. Kane & Lynch in particular I've always felt alone in adoring for years(I love both games). Though It seems Kane & Lynch 2 is getting that Man of Steel, MGS2, Unbreakable etc "they didn't quite get what it was doing at the time of release" appreciation recently. Kane and Lynch has the most fascinating crime underworld in a videogame(along with Max Payne) with Kane and Lynch 2 depicting by far the most intimidating and threatening version of a criminal underworld I've seen. Parts of it felt like a horror movie. They're getting flanked by weird guys in hazmat suits and tengu masks who Kane recognized *" fought like soldiers "* . Who are they? WHAT are they? never delved into. The "police" ties up, blindfolds and duck tapes all the workers in a restaurant. And all the citizens have this weird...cult like behavior. They're ridiculously calm(it could be wonky AI)and almost seem in on what will happen to the duo with the way some of them stare at them. It's all creepy as hell. The whole city is either trying to kill them or knows they're dead men
Kane and Lynch was like playing the movie HEAT if it was a video game. We need more gritty hard hitting games like this today. Too much dark souls stuff for my tastes.
Dog Days is one of the most Unique games ever made. It's a work of art and as with all works of art it's subjective. Either you get into it or you don't.
It’s not a work of art. Stop being so pretentious. Just because something makes you feel excited or just feel anything doesn’t mean it’s art. Is it art when you take a shit?
The most cinematic game out there; if your idea of cinema is Mann, takashi mike, and exploitation slashers. Love the visual appeal so much, just transgressive and low class and gritty. All time favorite gaming visuals in here; cruelty squad should get a nod as well, at least from myself here as that game hit in a similar way. Manhunt did as well, but just the Michael Mann aspect of K&L Dog Days hit wayyyy differently.
9:55 this was my favorite part of the game cause i played it co-op with my cousin, and he started killing all of the hostages while i yelled at him to stop, asking what he was doing and he replied "Do you not see all these fucking cops?" before we looked at each others screens. Made me feel like we were actually Kane and Lynch lol
Kane didn't want Shangsi to help them escape Shanghai, but to work with him. Shangsi was willing to since he said he could use men like them, but Lynch just wanted revenge for Xiu. Kane just wanted a paycheck since the deal with Glazer didn't work out so thought he'd still have a chance to with Shangsi. Kane's selfish so it was easier for him to just see it as eye for an eye since they killed Shangsi's daughter. If something had happened to Jenny in the process, he would've sung a different tune.
I bought the first 1 in 07 and my brother and i played through the whole thing. I got really good at it to. I was 10 years old and already seen stuff like scarface, heat etc and other violent films, but I didn't realize until I got older how fkd up and sad this game is and how cold people are. Great underrated game and hold some emotion in a good dark way.
yeah the camera at the end is consistent with everyone and not a bug. Played co-op with my buddy and got to experience it. I think it’s supposed to Kane getting tired as he really does just want to go home with lynch is stilled pumped off his mania/insanity. Or rather Kane being sick of the violence and lynch being unaffected by it.
Appreciate the open mindedness to some of the gameplay style you experienced. A lot of people tend to just shit on games that veer from what is ‘safe’. It almost sounds like you intentionally leaned into seeing the good. It’s refreshing. Great vid man
the best thing about the "swap weapons with your dudes" feature in Dead Men is that there's a bunch of points where you can roll 4 deep with belt fed SAWs

Kane and lunch 2 is one of the most unique games I’ve played in a long time. I remember playing it when I was 15 and it left such an imprint on me. Despite its flaws, it’s an incredibly creative approach and tried to be different. That sort of approach to be wholly unique is very rare, especially in today’s gaming industry.

I absolutely adore the Kane and Lynch games I would love to see them give these games ago again even a reboot if they release a collection like how they did with hitman blood money and absolution i would love to play these games again.
I remember it back then, the gameplay might be generic but the story and visual is something so unique that it created it own experience now decade has pass and this game simply proved that it can become a cult classic by just sheer story and aesthetic.
K&L2 was a masterpiece that I was too young to fully appreciated ( I was 16) I remember that I download a demo that was in the restaurant And I didn't like because of the headshot feature that hide the face with blur Now I know that the combination of that camera shaking with non stop action give us some anxiety and desperation that no other shooter can provide
Damn i was like 12 or 13 , used to play this Coop with my friend on PS3 ... Damn i missed this game and my old childhood friends .... we used to love this game , played it probably more then 40 times hahaha
I Ebayed a PS3 and both of these games. I remember seeing the trailer for it back in the day and thinking of Reservoir Dogs and loved it. We need a full remake of both
I played the Kane & lynch and I think the Idea behind it was very good and Interesting and either it was because lack of technological advances or bad implementation, the product itself didn't come out well; If the game was created by Rockstar or a company that big and experienced The game would be a masterpiece.
i loved kane and lynch 2 on the 360. Owned online multiplayer. My biggest gripe about the game was how short the campaign was. Just as I thought the story was taking off. The game was over.

20:05 its because he's blind in his right eye
Dog days has a special place in my heart
How you could double cross at the end of online heists was ahead of its time
K&L2 was a masterpiece that I was too young to fully appreciated ( I was 16)
I remember that I download a demo that was in the restaurant
And I didn't like because of the headshot feature that hide the face with blur
Now I know that the combination of that camera shaking with non stop action give us some anxiety and desperation that no other shooter can provide
Kane and lynch is peak filth-kino
The atmosphere alone is a good reason to play those two
Great video...I just got and beat K & L 2 about a month ago. Definitely a dope game oozing with originality. Great video boss! Thanks for making it!
Love the Crash Bandicoot soundtrack in the back ❤😂
I love this game and all the glitches and bugs are part of the lore to me
I love these type of games max payne 3 being one of my favourites, whish developers would make more of these games
I like this franchise-thanks for the quality content.
Great video very well put together! Really surprised me with the XIII #2 mobile game clip!
Damn I remember beating k&l 2 with my little bro back in the day during the summer! Great times
Damn i was like 12 or 13 , used to play this Coop with my friend on PS3 ... Damn i missed this game and my old childhood friends .... we used to love this game , played it probably more then 40 times hahaha
Me and my brother loved this game years ago ❤
Such a great game! Loved the multiplayer as well!
I remember finishing K&L2 with my cousin… good times
"If I cant smoke or swear I AM FUCKED!" hahah i love that show
Back in the day this was one of my first games for PS3! 😅 Never played the second one but totally enjoyed the first one!
What i find so cool is that when you shoot heavy automatic weapons the camera glitches cuz of how loud the guns are
I don’t remember this game looking so good. I remember it was very glitchy and everything was blur
i loved kane and lynch 2 on the 360. Owned online multiplayer. My biggest gripe about the game was how short the campaign was. Just as I thought the story was taking off. The game was over.
Haven’t played Kane and lynch in so long. Could’ve been a banger payday-like game😪🔥
whenever tpb is mentioned i am a fan u earned a sub here bobandis
9:46 The civilians got killed so bad that they started T Posing
Kane and Lynch 2 multiplayer was incredibly fun. I wish I could still play it.

Summer of 09 or 10 Loved this game
The aesthetic of K&L 2 is unmatched, they were ahead of their time
I loved Kane and Lynch. I wish they made the Bruce Willis and Jamie Foxx movie adaptation.
I like Kane & Lynch, It’s definitely worth playing but it’s also the epitome of 6/10
Only played the second one and I thought that game suuuuuuucked. To each his own though
I always did, they were unfairly disregarded IMO Two really fun titles.
Bro I already love this game, no need to convince me ✌
The donut shop mission was my fave
K&L2 is a masterpiece that definitely needs a remake.
Did a great job on this mate
Got the second game for $10,
Great fun ride
