All those 1960s era cars still on the road in 1976. Even a 57 Chevy. Cars last forever in Texas. No rust, no salty roads in wintertime like in the East Coast-Buffalo and NYC for example.

Really awesome classic chase! Looks like Plymouth and AMC were popular makes for police cars! I have a Black 1971 Plymouth GTX in my Johnny Lightning collection. Now while I still have yet to add a Matador to my AMC collection, I do have a '71 Javelin, 2 1970 Rebel Machines (one a Johnny Lightning, the other being a Hot Wheels car), and a 1977 Pacer RC car.
The Mopars were complete beasts. Many had 440 hemis, dual exhaust, DRUM brake systems that overheated, and were like tanks: Brutal and nasty. Like my love life. LOL. Thanks for sharing.
I know this movie , I went and saw it at the movies with my brother and sis in law. I was 11 or 12 years old at the time. I even have a copy of it on a old VHS tape that I found about 15-20 years ago.
Keep an eye on the ‘73 Plymouth Fury. It was in a few more stunts that just the landing in it at the bridge. It also ran into the creek in the motorcycle chase and it’s the same car that goes off the cliff in the end.
There is something awesome about these kinds of films and the scenery the cars and traveling down the open road and it was films like these that got me through rough times. Also I am surprised anime never got ideas or incorporated this type of car chase action as seeing a Dodge Charger jump over ledges in the pokemon world or a big car likes these cop cars hitting team rocket's ballin would have been funny. Furthermore thank you for these awesome vids as not only are they good but inspire ideas for art prices
At that time, the world still worked. You could knock down a cop, but they kept going until they caught you. And once they caught you, they beat the crap out of you. There were no videos and crying on social media...
Isnt the town area where the original Dukes of hazzards was filmed briefly? And note that the Sherrifs door badge is also the same as the ones used in Hazzard county :D
Bo Hopkins used to have a nice house on Lake Greenwood, in SC where I grew up. About 1ml. up the road from our house. He ended up selling it because the local lake rat criminals wouldn't stop breaking into it!
@@ianmysef8182 I suppose it was wider and slightly longer but being based on a wagon the bed wasn’t as deep as an F100. Doubt they were ever used as cop cars.
Love the JC Whitney light bar on the police cars! The cop on fire was a bit over the top for my taste. These kind of images laid the groundwork for the social decay that has brought America to the brink of Anarchy for a few courtesy laughs.
Funny how Hopkins's car magically transforms from 72 Coronet to a 73 Polara. This kind of lack of continuity and sloppy details is what separates shitty movies from great ones.
She was better off with the sheriff.. At least you didn't have to hear that sickening. Glory day's football game. he'd live over and over probably for the rest of her life.
Too bad about the whole door being masked off white including the upper window frame.instead of just the lower door panel.Someone in the paint department got the instructions wrong or the person giving the directions dropped the ball.

15:14 Seeing Susan George there and then knowing she was in the Dirty Mary Crazy Larry crash a few seconds later. LOL!
Classic '70s hixploitation film. I think this particular small town in Texas used up all of their police cars chasing one guy.

no computer fake, but a real high speed chase with those real american muscle cars.so nice.
Man that old 64 Chevy C10 can move especially with that 427 Big Block in it.

What's name of movie
Can't count how many times the car being driven changes into a completely different police car mid scene!
It could be different police officers in their cars
Keep an eye on the ‘73 Plymouth Fury. It was in a few more stunts that just the landing in it at the bridge. It also ran into the creek in the motorcycle chase and it’s the same car that goes off the cliff in the end.
It's called a bad editing job
500 horsepower and handling like a rubberball on the road.
But-they look wonderful and cool, those cars.
Wow never knew about this movie. Thanks for uploading. You are awesome
Glad you enjoyed it
In the 1970s, I watched EVERY MOVIE that ever came out. Especially action-adventuters. Never heard of this one till today.
@@frankfarago2825 me too 👍
I absolutely love 70s B movies. So cheesy fun
No CGI! How a movie should be made!
Sad that so many of these squad cars got trashed. I need a ' 73 Dodge Polara rear valance!!!
Yea it kills me

I love that people fall out of cars, but the chase keeps going)
Saw this at the Cinema back in 77. Surprisingly nobody remembered the movie when I mention it .
"ALRIGHT FELLAS. I GOT AN IDEA. ON THIS NEXT STRAIGHT, LETS ALL SWERVE OFF THE ROAD AND ROLL OUR PATROL CARS"

The PIG drowns
Those are the hoopties back in the day. 😄😁😆😅😂🤣
Wow reddy ice was around back then????
Boy, cops sure have better driving skills today.
They had em then, too, but that would make for boring movies. So cops in B movies are always clowns, rubes, klutzes, dipshits.
I love when you hear screeching tires on gravel!
Gotta love the old squealing tires on dirt!
Subscribed. I somehow missed this one but want to watch the whole movie now.
That small town setting is just like the one seen in "The Dukes of Hazzard".
I hope they put this 1097s' Drive-In Classic on Blu-ray & DVD someday??

Classic, his 69 Polara turned into a 72 Fury.
Superb stuntwork.
I knew that was Bo Hopkins soon as I heard that voice brah
Great film!
Normally it hurts to see those old cars tore up. But... other than the truck they were all dodges 😆
Poor Susan George, 4-years after that looooong crazy chase she was in with Barry Newman in "Fear is the Key" (1972).
Suzy Kendall
Fear is the Key was more like 1976.
Beautiful movie Beautiful cars ❤❤❤❤
Timothy Bottoms is the guy who plays Bush on That's My Bush!
is that Rebel Roy from White Lighting playing the Sheriff.
Sure is.
And Joe the Pharaoh from American Graffiti.
Loved him in AG.
2:14 - 2:45 isnt this the one of the same places they shot the car chase sequence for the first episode of the Dukes of Hazzard?
Bo Hopkins used to have a nice house on Lake Greenwood, in SC where I grew up. About 1ml. up the road from our house. He ended up selling it because the local lake rat criminals wouldn't stop breaking into it!
Did they steal those blue flashing lights from Kmart, home of the Blue light Special?
Seems like Bo Hopkins, Timothy Bottoms, and also Joe Don Baker were in a lot of movies in the early 70s, then they all just vanished.
Hey, it’s little old Mary Coombs from the Ralston-Purina.
They used a ‘59 Ranchero as a police car…?
Yes, police cars Rachero 59 is destroyed and police car Mopar 76 id fire, best scene cop in fire👍👍👍👍👍
The Ranchero of that time had a metal floor in the bed and slightly better cargo capacity than the F100.
@@ianmysef8182 I suppose it was wider and slightly longer but being based on a wagon the bed wasn’t as deep as an F100. Doubt they were ever used as cop cars.
@CycolacFan not as pursuit cars, no. But as utilities. Better cab than the pickups. Often less expensive too.
So what's the name of the movie ?
A small rown in texas
The cop car that fell off the cliff at the end was just a re-used scrapper from the start scene .
The explosion at 2:45
Like…..what the hell?!?!?!
What movie is that?
Love your work man!
Glad to hear it!
Similar to Sylvester Stallone in First Blood
Yes !! I noticed that too. Me and you are the only ones to seem to notice
Yes Wimberly and Dripping Springs hill country area! Today it’s been ruined by the big city of Austin

Very good!
Was that cop car a Plymouth Belvedere? I think it had a .318 or .383.
Looks like Covington, GA
It was filmed in Lockhart, Texas.
Wuz Susan George Dirty Mary????
