INPUT (Input Shortcuts ON): D, DB, B, 1 & Block, (wait to connect before starting next inputs) D, DB, B, BU & 1 & Block… Or D, DB, B, 1 & Block, (wait to connect before starting next inputs, but press forward Jax as it connects) B, FU & 1 Hold For multiple launchers … DB1 (EX), then (to get a second ex DB1) a little after it hits, do down, back, up-back, and press 1 & block at the same time as you press up-back. Input the down-back-up very quickly with a roll motion so you don’t get a jump on accident. If you do the whole input quickly after waiting a moment from the first ex DB1 connecting, you should get the second to come out. Just think of it like you’re doing that quarter circle back motion you always do but accidentally going a little bit further than 90 degrees quickly. For the projectile, timing is very key. At first just practice cleanly inputting back then up-forward (diagonal) without sliding your finger and pressing other directions accidentally (just tap both directions). Once you can do a projectile out of the db1 launch recovery, play around with the timing seeing how early you can start the projectile (little bit after launcher and kameo input) and how late you can do Jax (right about when the db1 connects)

If you've tried these Rain jump cancel combos before and given up because you couldn't do them, never fear, it may not be so tricky after all.! With a change to your controller settings and a bit of practising the timings, you can learn to do cool jump cancel combos from meter dumping with Rain or doing some more specialty combos like Jax into fully charged projectiles. Hopefully this video helps you learn how to execute this technique so you don't give up and think you just suck (which I did for a bit)! 0:00 Intro to Jump Cancel Combos! 0:54 Input Shortcuts Required (Controller Settings) 3:06 How to Execute Jump Cancels! I gave up trying to figure out this cancel because the timing was so tricky I was always dropping my combos. Now you’ve got me back into the lab again damn it.
@@mralberonenfgc Nah man, since the release you saw the potential, from rain scorp to Rain Jax, you've come a long way. Ty so much for making my rain better with your tutorials.
@@JaceEntertainmentI wrote out an input explanation in the pinned comment, the execution mainly comes down to quickly doing a slightly over-extended quarter circle back motion where you go to up-back at the same time as you press the buttons 1 & block to do the move.
I've done it with that setting off, you have to press up first, udb1, but the timing is so especific that in practice mode I can't do it consistenly so I imagine it's impossible online.
It would be useful if ex portal in the air summons already 2 portals, because you can use the ex portal splash in the air to combo, but setting a 2 portals, one on the ground and 1 in the air, is not gonna go well online
Is there any chance you can make a guide(or just give me any tips) on how to effectively cancel into Rains Water God move off of his Strings/Pokes? There’s a lot of tech to be utilized with this but I’ve struggled to find consistency with the inputs. Ive found it’s even more inconsistent when I have an ambush Kameo active
Can you write out the Inputs in order. The practice inputs are way to fast and cluttered together I can't get it even with Input Shortcuts Off. I'm even inputting EXDB1 BU+F1 it's not working at any timing.
I wrote out the execution and input in the pinned comment if that helps. Just roll your finger around from down to up-back very quickly and press the buttons (1 & block) at the same time as up-back. As long as you do this after waiting a moment after the first ex db1 connects, the second should come out
I’ve always loved the idea of being able to do this into a potential whirlpool Hard-To-Block setup after a fully charged projectile I’ve never done this in an actual match because muscle memory always has me doing Rains regular combos instead. But if you have the execution I would think this is actually really useful
@@DadsOP there’s a lot of factors that go into it, if you can guess whether they’re just gonna delay it or not then you can most definitely time it to where they can’t just block
@@CaptainProx its not real.... even I can block it everytime and am a mere demigod... when an overhead and low hit at the same time or close together 1 is cancelled out and not required for the block. As a rain main, wish it were real, too bad its not. Some people already realized this too as ive noticed some that will block it everytime too.
*UPDATE* although these combos are cool, I will likely not be using them. I've tested for a few days and I hate input shortcuts being on so much I keep getting reversal specials gah damn...
I just wait and press forward kameo right as the projectile connects with the opponent, then after waiting a moment to recover I do B, FU1 and hope I got the timing right
This video is a bit hard to follow because you have your meter set to full instead of refill. I have no idea how much bar any of these things are spending. It would also be useful to see you do it without using the technique so we can get a comparison of exactly how much damage we're getting for those bars.
Fair enough, my bad for leaving full meter on, for the d2 jump cancel into ex db1 that’s 3 bars which is dumb. But the rest just cost 1, 2, or 3 depending on how many ex db3s. As for damage rain normally can definitely not deal over 400 damage on his own, but just by spending one extra bar (by doing the Kara launcher once after the first) you get 400 which I think is great (you can make it 3 bars which adds a little bit more but only worth it if it kills imo The Jax combo into fully charged projectile does normal rain damage honestly, but there is a lot of potential when it comes to using other extensions or hard to block setups with whirlpool
