2024 is the last year the Forester is still made in Japan, maybe the last good Forester before 2026. My 06 was burning about a quart per 1000 miles and changing the PCV cleared most of it up. Basically the PCV was stuck open, and sucking oil. I'm guessing the 0.1 quarts is how much oil stays in the engine after being drained.
OEM filter ONLY! Subaru filters have a higher bypass pressure then aftermarket units.
I will look into this. Thanks

I think the oil capacity on the 2.5 liter is actually 4.4 quarts with a filter change
Ohhhh I will do more research thank you!
It's 4.4 My Base Model takes 4.4 quarts. I'm using Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0W-20.
@@James_Hyre Mine a Sport takes 4.8 but I just dump the 5 qt. jug in it comes up to top dot on the dip. These are known to consume oil.
@@jtwu8931 actually 21 and newer don’t really consume oil. Subaru did some engine upgrades in the latest generation to take care of that
31 ft lbs on the drain plug with a new washer
Just did am oil change on my 2023 forester sport and it took 4qts to fill up to the second dot. Should i put in more 🤔
Everyone is saying 4.4 now. Check the comments. That dipstick is terrible. I need to call the dealer.
Yes 4.4 Quarts.
