Holy fuck... I have been playing WoW since 2005 but have somehow missed that 1h specialization applies to _all_ damage. I have always assumed it just applied to my weapon damage, this changes it from a "if you have spare points" to "must have" talent!

Good guide! I would like to add some consumables which will make up almost half of your damage or even more:
    - Dragonbreath Chili (lvl 35)
    - Oil of Immolation (lvl 31)
    - Shield Spikes (Requires BS, not lvl bound so in theory u can go straight for a Thorium Shield Spike)
    - Spellpower elixirs (Helps a lot with concecration damage)
There are a handful of shields that do damage when you block or get hit. Highly recommended to go after some of them:
    - Thermaplugg's Central Core (Gnomeregan)
    - The Green Tower (BoE - Epic around 40g - 70g)
    - Skullflame Shield (BoE - Epic around 600g - 700g)
    - Crest of Retribution (Stratholme)
Stack some of these and you will be an absolute unit in dungeons and AoE farming. Most of these tips come from
Kargoz his guides when they were still up and it was smooth sailing to 60 in the Hardcore addon.

-Use modern target frame to see the % of threat on mob. Especially useful as tankadin.
-Int/stam is the way as you said. "of the eagle" is the gear to check the AH. Fast weapon for sure, the Knightly longsword with seal of wisdom will makes dungeon tanking so much better.
    - Engi is mandatory, from cheap dynamite to pull, the trinket that gives some mana early on, target dummie for emergency aoe taunt etc.
    - Using salvation on dps and wisdom for healer will make runs smoother and safer. Adding bonus is that you can stick with auto attacking wisdom on packs (mana gain is threat as well). Hard cleave dps like a warrior might take aggro but who cares he can take some punishment.

Traded str for spirit as a test. Really interesting results.
Great regen and suprisingly good for dungeons. Level 38 on HC with 160 spirit, and it helps a ton with clear speed.
Open world, its nice to have so much regen. It feels like a cozy blanet when you get 160ish mp5 without SoW. You really have to lean on 5 second rule.
The HP regen from spirit is also very nice to have. If you're missing a little life after a fight, sit down. Sprit to health regen/tick (2seconds) is 0.25. This is increased by 50% when you sit. 160 spirit gives 40hp2, or 100hp5. Sitting makes it 150! You can keep 5 second rule going and top off health quickly.
    Cheers and 🍻!

Lvl 25+42 bis, do you mean weapon? if yes, just go fast weapon. lvl 33 knightly sword is usable for a very very long time. Maybe you upgrade to flurry axe if u can afford. Fiery weapon is probably good to have early, but will less worth at 30/40+, but then again what else should you go for? SP is doable, however conc dmg doesnt scale very hard with sp, but it sure helps. gear just get int/stam and spirit/stam. shield, take the best you can get with a shield spike.
Consumes: all normal elixirs, engi stuff and dragonbreath chilli is some added aoe dmg.
(btw, fiery blaze enchant [from badlands quest] could also be fun to play around with. I used that on my 2019 classic pala :) )

I'm sure tanking is more fun. You'll probably have better opportunity for groups as a tank while leveling. Lots of warr tanks are skeptical of pally healers because they are worried about loot. Maybe I missed it, but does pally tank spec work well for leveling outside of dungeons? Given we are locked to 1 ID per dungeon per day we aren't going to be spamming them.

God, Do i really have to make a prot pally guide in a youtube comment?
      Just some notes:
      - Not mentioning Spiritual Focus x Conc Aura?
      - Pallytime called BoK Bad, because it doesnt scale or whatever, but this is actually false, in vanilla it calculates AFTER all other buffs, so it also increases all stat buffs, world buffs and potions by 10% aswell, making it crazy strong
      - Reckoning Just being called 'OP', on official Server it Just refreshes weapon swing timer on getting crit, this makes it lose a bunch of value the faster your weapon is - since you'll want to use 1.5 speed for best mp5 off wisdom or SoR procs, reckoning is not worth being picked over eg. Toughness 5/5
      - one-handed weapon spec doesn't increase all dmg, only white damage and seal procs, which in itself is still decent, but still falsely claimed to Do smth different in here
      - holy shield was called horrible by pallytime and 'kinda good' by him, holy shield actually has decent dpme, surpassing consecrations mana efficiency on 2 and 3 targets, and more importantly using holy shield after redoubt procs lowers your chance to get crit immensely (blocked hits can't crit, another false statement by pallytime btw) and makes you immune to crushing blows if you get a bit of Dodge/parry/defense/block on gear to surpass the 102.4% cap, which is realistically easy to Hit even in pre raid gear therefore being insane mitigation even when casting rank 1's
      - his holy prot hybrid build was also all over the Place, but since he just built it on the fly that is to be forgiven
If you want actual useful correct ressources on prot, check out BoochieSmash or Holyfrog - SubtleFW is also a great prot to check out, but doesnt really have a lot of guide content for vanilla on youtube
Cheers - some guy on the Internet that actually Played prot in PvE

I dont want to bash the content creator but I know there might be people like me looking around alot for different build ideas. I have played a similar build to this for hours and hours. Do NOT do it! Yes its good for finding groups to dungeons But with the daily HC dungeon cooldown that does not mean much. You are left with extremly slow leveling speed. You can semi viable go Prot for leveling once you can specc into both concecration and blessing of sanctuary at around level 40. I did this cuz I like the Prot paladin But its still slower then Ret. Where I felt it started to shine was at 50+ but that was mostly because of the really good aoe spot in WPL

    • @straofc
      @straofc  ปีที่แล้ว +1

If this is "extremely slow leveling speed" for you, you're probably doing it wrong. speedwise its only seconds on avg slower than a 2h ret on a single target, however even av low 20's you can do 2-4 mobs which puts you a decent amount ahead of 2h ret.

Paladins don't scale well with any stats, except stam and int.
I'm going to disagree with every time you said, "this is op" No Paladin talent is overpowered, they are all underwhelming since the class is underwhelming.
I've been playing paladin in Wow since Oct 2005 and after going through the recent classic version I finally came to the conclusion Paladins are the worst designed class in Classic.
Redoubt is a tanking talent requiring the tank to get a critical strike which is stupid, tanks should get rewarded for avoiding damage not get rewarded for taking it. Reckoning is not OP. For an Arm warrior it might be, but for the weakest designed class in the game it's not close to being OP. If it proc'd all the time it would make the paladin a lot more fun, but I don't think if would even be overpowered then.
I was going to give my recommended build, but every time I got to a talent that should be good, it's just not. Paladin base damage is bad, and the scaling is bad, too. Surviving is the best thing you can do and I don't know if any talent that gives you a % better damage will make a difference because 10% better damage of 12 damage is just 13 damage.
It's still a good video with good advice, but for anyone who hasn't played paladin or any other "hybrid" class in Classic the damage and damage scaling with gear is disappointing.
