- Muay Thai is a combat sport of Thailand that uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques. This physical and mental discipline which includes combat on shins is known as "the art of eight limbs" because it is characterized by the combined use of fists, elbows, knees, shins, being associated with a good physical preparation that makes a full-contact fighter very efficient
We organized the first ITF World Championship in Korea in 2004, and subsequently two more in 2008 & 2010 that were held in conjunction with Taekwondo Festivals.
Taekwondo was developed during the 1940s and 1950s by various martial artists by incorporating elements of Karate and Chinese Martial Arts with indigenous Korean martial arts traditions such as Taekkyeon, Subak, and Gwonbeop. The oldest governing body for taekwondo today are the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF), founded by Choi Hong Hi in 1966.
Every year since 2011 we have been bringing Taekwondoists from all of the World to follow in the footsteps of the significant figures and events that are associated with the patterns that are such a core part of Taekwon-Do through our Tul Tour Taekwon-Do & Cultural Training programs.
Consequently, our membership has grown rapidly with many groups and individuals from all styles of Taekwon-Do joining our Federation. We are now establishing our offices in the new Administrative Government Center of Korea, Sejong City.
This exciting development allows us to reinvigorate our training programs and offer Seminars and International Instructor Courses in Korea and around the World. More than 10 Tul Tour Programs have been already organized for 2017 and 2018.
We will hold our first Open World Championships in the wonderful European country of the Netherlands in September 2017. Already many groups that have not been able to participate together in the past have confirmed their attendance.
ITF HQ-Korea is dedicated to bringing together all practitioners who follow the teachings of General Choi Hong Hi under the motto “One spirit - One Force - One ITF” in its homeland.

If all ITF tkd fighters practice their punching a lot they'll be so good
So real they’ll be good at punching but they are more focused on kicking and there kicks are only snap kicks so its not powerful
@InfinityGaming I’m 6’4” 220lbs ITF guy with speed. I can assure you my kicks are powerful as fuck. It depends on the individual not the art.
@@samuraisaxon6800 and also i can asure u to break you leg idc about your height i assure you that your leg will be in a surgery
so true
It honestly depends on the ITF TKD Dojo and the practitioner. Here in my dojo, we learn punching as much as kicking, basically doing kickboxing but under the name 'ITF TKD'.
ITF TAEKWONDO, THE REAL TAEKWONDO
The World Taekwondo Federation with full contact sparring as an option is better, in my opinion. International Taekwondo focuses to much on patterns.
I LOVE MUAYTHAI
#from_indonesia
Awesome fight! I really enjoyed watching this :D
More interesting than some UFC fights, to see a taekwondo or karate guy doing well vs a muay thai guy is so cool, he connected some ko kicks
If the ITF kid used his lead side kicks to set up his rear round kick to the head followed by his spinning back kick he would own this thai fighter.
He'd have to be really quick to pull that off. If the Muay Thai guy is paying attention he can get in close during the roundhouse transition and hit him square in the stomach.
Don't be stupid, we all know Muay Thai can kill TKD
@@digitalcamaro9708 cuando un taekwondista gira no te dá tiempo!
There's a lot of setups that we, mere observers, could think of, and there's nothing wrong with that. But being in a fight is something way more stressing. Thereare so many things you will think of only after the fight has finished and not comprehend why you haven't done them...
I was wondering why a 'blue belt' taekwon-do practitioner was wearing a black belt uniform. Then l realised the competitors wear a blue and red belt respectively.
I think is a taekwondo ITF dobok
great observation..I just caught that
Its blackbelt but red and blue belt for make the diferences for judges its like the little belt in the back in itf tournaments so this time its a belt but itf guy is black belt for the dobock
Muay thai has no belts what are you talking?
I trained muay thai and it has not ranking system
Tkd guy has decent hands. That's rare.
Because is Taekwondo ITF.
Itf you work more your fits and is more functional for kickboxing combat the wtf taekwondo is focus more on the legs and mark points whit out the need of kick hard or use a lot your fits becouse of the olimpic sport focus.
The TKD kid is good! He just need some more punching and low kick training then he is legit for real!
The TKD lad was sharp. Definite win
As much as I sympathize with him, I'm not sure about that. He let his foot being caught, being thrown out the ring, taken to the ground... As expected his boxing skills were worse than his kicking. He should have used bolder kicks in my opinion. Simple kicks, then immediately a spinning kick to the head or torso. Even if just to scare the opponent. Thing is that the other kid was so much taller, and the TKD kid just couldn't match his physical strength too. So, much respect for him being bold enough to compete in a different martial art with a physically stronger opponent!
Totally he conected some kicks in the face
Taekwondo needs more boxing and Muay Thai the kicks are great
The TKD guy actually has pretty decent boxing which is rare.
@@genshin5288 Because it's itf style?
@@brocaesar7484 Yeah, it's ITF indeed.
itf is about kicking and boxing, it needs knees and elbows, and clinch fighting
@@legendarygaming5045 it has knees and elbows since i currently taking ITF tkd
buenisimo
That’s what I call a gg
Let them fight use everything
👏
I agree. I noticed many times how a Thai boxer forgot about protection especially in head from the area.
I don’t think this match allowed low kicks
Sidekick is Muay Thai 's greatest enemy cause most of them doesn't use it . Tried it with my friend who does Muay Thai back then before he gets to me he eats a lot of sidekick in body and in the face I also tried axe kick him but didn't chose to cause I know what it can do
There's no way that it's a muay thai fighter or else the fight would've ended during the first round. I know that because i do muay thai and that the guy didn't look like a muay thai fighter, but rather looked like a taekwondo fighter disguised as Muay Thai fighter
This guy ain’t no Muaythai fighter! Just look at his stance, this is Kickboxing or also TKD. His kicks also are not Muaythai style.
Ok good fight but that axe kick at 220 could have been devastating
The itf guy was not kicking hard enough, he was too defensive. Otherwise the muay thai guy would have lost immediately
All the taekwondo guy got is a side kick…for point scoring
Why didn’t Muay Thai guy use teeps or push kicks ?
Both sides fought greatly, landing decent kicks and punches on each other. I'd say its a draw.
There is a problem is that I do not notice the use of elbows in the Muay Thai fighter (I suppose it is for the safety of the taekwondo practitioner as he does not know or have an elbow in his fight so it is better not to use it)
TKD guy gotta stop floating mann
Then he wouldn’t be doing TKD
The muay Thai fighter is not using the front tip kick ....it's very effective in a fight..
Why the muat thai guy move like that?
This is really two incompatible rule systems clashing. Nothing works well for either fighter. The MT guy had no clue how to deal with TDK leading leg kicks, or the side on positioning, or the open floor format/no ring. The TKD guy has no clue how to deal with knees/grabs and was timing/targeting his kick for points/not maximum impact. You're not matching up TKD vs Thai boxing here, all you're really doing is matching up the rules of both systems in an unsatisfactory format. The way to do is, is to put get the TKD fighter acclimatised to MT rules in the ring/non points fighting, and let the MT guy fight under TKD rules after he's been acclimatised to TKD.. There is no such thing as the superior art, only the superior fighter, and that depends on his brain/technique/level of training. I have trained many fighters from various martial arts in MT, and the ITF TKD guys, do very well, not the WTF TKD guys, most of them, have to learn to box from scratch. MMA is the best all round system, because it uses the most effective techniques from all martial arts. The MT fighter here, was a bit shocked, because he clearly expected the TKD guy not to be able to punch, where as in fact, the TKD guy, was the faster/more accurate puncher of the two, and way better with his kicks, just wasn't programmed for maximum impact.
Muay thai kid must be new to muay thai. Terrible form but seemed to know some mt techniques. Looks more like he used to do tkd from his stance and bouncing.
As a bleck belt itf fighter, i can assure you: I dont how this kid is a black belt in itf. Green belts in our class are better.
that kids a blue belt
Yes, but he had the guts to spar against another art, whay about you or your club?
Well, we fought against kickboxers, wrestlers and I also had once a fight on the street. 3 people jumped on me that were bigger than me. Let me make it short: It didn't ended well for them...@@ShinysArc
they didnt do good the taekwondo guy keept doing the side kick all the time and muay thai didnt grap his leg
That 'muay thai' guy should probably train at a better gym
So the Muay Thai kid won?
ITF TKD won
@@alter5057 Won by split decisions
Ñamñam
Lol another TKD guy who wear shorts pretending to be Muay thai
Eh "Thai" fighters stance and footwork is nothing like that of a Muay Thai fighter. It just looks like a TKD footwork mixed in with thai style kicks that are round and not snap.
Learn both
Thats not Muay Thai, looks a lot like Karate
Muay Thai don’t box like that , come on
Most Muay Thai fighters I've sparred have pathetic hands. Their main focus is on the low kicks, clinch, elbows and knees which leaves their mid section quite open. I've seen high level Muay Thai fighters absorbing a huge amount of head strikes (Like Rodtang although dude is tough as tank so he gets away with it) due to the lesser emphasis on hands.
@@genshin5288 samart payakaroon , somrak khamsing, buakaw banchamek
@@PenTorNa Samart was exceptional. Also, he was quite unorthodox and flashy unlike most Muay Thai fighters. Buakaw relies on toughness and round house kicks and as for the other guy Somark, I've never heard of him.
th-cam.com/video/FRZQ7sZFKyI/w-d-xo.html
this is video fight match of somrak, one of legend of muaythai.
in muaythai one important thing it is length, long length it for kick , mid for punch , near length for elbow or knee and close length for clinch and takedown.
we use all of it ,balance it not used only one.
when opponent stand in long length ,we will not use punch for it .
but many nakmuay it mean many styles if it good in fight it ok although you focus on kick or punch only.

this is video fight of saenchai
@@PenTorNa th-cam.com/video/1TwGCH2cliQ/w-d-xo.html Never denied that but watch this. It clearly shows the typical weaknesses of MT.
Taekwondo is weaker than Muay thai. Muay thai break bones
Thats muay fighter is fighting very dirty
Lol its because the rules of muay thai is not the same on TKD lol
ThatsTKD fighter is fighting very noobs
Taekwondo is BS.
I thought these were girls im not kidding.. stop eating soy @younger generation.
